We always made it a happy event and treat-trained our dogs and we always were happy to see them when we arrived home. Our expression is, "Get in your house." And they would always trot into their crates without issue. One day our black lab opened his door into his "house" and curled up on his blanket munching on his treats.
I always say “go home” and did so very happy also and it worked great
@@byFiscus
cages are highkey lame unless u got a mutt
@@Baditow no they are not and you obviously don't need to have any kind of dog jackass
@@RstngBtchFc keep getting deleted ur my pooch
For my pup, I keep the crate door open during the day and my dog goes in when he wants to rest. He knows he is not trapped. At night I lock the door behind him.
this trainer is awesome!!! he knows exactly how to train dogs!!!!
I threw a nice blanket and a dog need in my dogs crates, then chucked in a few dog treats and left my dogs discover the crates for themselves, no lead, no forcing, didn't I just them to it. They love their crate now, nice and comfy and I don't need to put treats in at all for them to use it.
So I had gotten 2 4 month old puppies non crate trained. What I did was I put down a nice soft bed for them inside and I placed them in. They started crying so I placed a blanket over the crate indicating that it’s time for them to lay down. The dark is a sign of bedtime of course afterwards I put on soft calm piano music (calming slow music can help with dogs separation anxiety and help calm them when stressed, anxious, or feeling upset. I learned this from fostering many dogs over the years) and turned it up to a mid level volume and then they layer down and went to sleep. Then this began then understanding when they go into the crate it’s time to relax. Even my older dog goes in when I say kennel up and lays down.
This is what I’m doing with my pup she’s a four month old pomsky that’s 80% husky she’s gotten so used to it she only wants to sleep in there at night but won’t put herself to bed. Around 9pm she gets up from laying by wherever I’m at and start getting my attention to put her to bed. Although as my vet learned the other day if you put her in a kennel without giving her a treat she’s going to throw a shit fit lol.
Positive reinforcement is always the best
No.
It's all in the value of the treats and how you deliver them. If you control the treats, you're that dogs #1 and he'll learn how to get those rewards.
I do this with my Valley Bulldog . Now she’s happy to get in the crate.
Listen, I know you don't need my validation because you are very good at what you do, but I really like because simple and not overcomplicated for the owner. Great job! Thanks for the videos
Extremely well built dogs. They are all muscle and lean. Thi makes them look slim and athletic
I will DEFINITELY be using that on our next furbabie! Thanks so much! 🐾❤
Wish I had this knowledge when I was younger. Thanks for sharing these training tips for dog owners and prospective dog owners.
He follows your hands with his eye that because you may have a treat but I always cautious when I see dog and ask the dog lots of questions dog seem to like me
What a beautiful pup
The size of that monster!!! Yowza!!!
He's so beautiful
I treated my dogs separation anxiety and he doesn't need a cage, he's very good boy and never have whooped him, don't believe in it. Garret is a smart trainer " probably the best" and I would recommend him, if you live in Florida and can afford it.
That's how I crate trained my pit, and he realized the crate was a safe place. I only close his door when I have to leave him for a few hours.
Treats. Easy.
The dog "hey you said don't do that!" Love your videos!
I trained my dog a different way
She went in for bed first night, she wasnt house trained and we had to clean the cage
We figured that putting a blanket over would help, which it did. After about two weeks, we removed it and she slept through the night ever since.
We would also put her in the cage when the door rang, because she would run off
It got to a point she would associate doorbell with the cage, and she would run to it, open the door with her nose, and we didnt even have to lock it.
Now, she has no cage, as we decorated and it would destroy the wall. She still sleeps in that area
Doing this will my baby girl red nose pit and man does it ever work and I can get her too set thanks so much keep posting and I keep learning myself
You closed it and he was like what the hell man I thought you was cool
Fallow for part 2!!! I love when they cut the video mid conversation
Your videos are great 👍 beautiful dog I have had rotties last 20 years love them to death most loyal affectionate fearless dogs ...but the cane corso is on my radar would love to have one
its insane how many owners buy these dogs but have no idea about the breed or what they are in for
Even I knew this what's special
I tell my 65 pound apbt "home" and he goes in his kennel. Thanks to you I learned he is very food motivated. He knows to go to his kennel and sit when it's feeding time, he also Waits until the ladies (8 year old corgi/heeler and her 4 year old daughter) to start eating before he starts eating. That wasn't taught, he respects the ladies in the pack as well as the older outside male.
65 lbs is very large for a real pit... you might have a xl bully.... real pits are 35-55 lbs and 18 inches tall at the shoulders.... the easiest way to tell if you have a real pit is if you got pedigreed or blood line.... if you dont have any of that then 99 percent chance you dont have a real pit
Amarican bully XL, please explain what to do and how to keep them in line. People need to be educated on bully training, please.
That's a big boy, I want one so bad
It's tha theory, bro. These are good breakdowns because tha theory helps owners understand how to communicate with a dog and why.
love your vids keep it up love learning about how to better manage and train my dogs
Having Pugs, we led them into their cage by holding their sides, after the door was shut, we'd make them sit, then give a treat. Now all we gotta do is call them, open the cage, say "Get in", shut the door, they sit automatically, and we give them a treat most of the time
Do you have any videos on crate whining? And how to stop it?
It’s most likely because owners use the crate as “training and punishment” but then again I never did that with my pooch and he always hated his crate so I eventually stopped using it even as a puppy he wouldn’t fall for the treat in the crate trick 😂 it’s that border aussie intelligence
Now try that with my corso as a pup he was 50kgs at 6 months and stubborn 😭took a lot of patience and time to train and worth it 💪 he's abt 75-80 now.
My son had a Dalmation, he brought him home after the Military. I’m MY house , he could sleep wherever he felt most comfortable, but when no one was home, we crated him, until he was comfortable with our home. He Also was crated when he was disciplined. Now this sounds crazy, but I was a working mom, adult son back home, twin sons in middle school, and another son in military. My Father came to visit often as he lived very close, and this dog was used to living in an apartment, no yard, and is now in a house, with fairly large yard.
When he did something I didn’t like, I would take him, explain the issue, tell him how long the crate time would be( usually 2-10 minutes depending. And he would walk in. I would come to the kennel when it was time , open the door, ask him” are you sorry?” I would get a kiss, then let him out.
My son made fun of me, then I ‘caught him doing the same thing about a month later… he said NOTHING else they tried Ever worked, lol.
When he got the dog, his First resource was his friends who Trained the guard dogs( when they were puppies) on the base, the ones that would eventually become police dogs. This dog would only do so much.
It was a stray, and was an 11th hour rescue literally, because it was ‘caught with its sister, she got adopted , he stopped eating, so they were going to euthanize rather than see him starve to death, since he was already emaciated. No other Dog and his Boy were ever so close.( but he DID listen and protect “the Mommy”)❤❤
i trained my dog to like his cage, he goes in it every now and then just cause his blanket is in there and he likes to feel snug when he sleeps but he also knows that if he does something bad, it’s not even an argument he goes in there as soon as he knows we found out. he’s a good boi overall tho
Is there full length video?
Like pulling a lead sled
We always had crates only for the car.
My cane corso was 54 pounds at 3 months
A friend and work colleague has a 6 month old Presa/Bully mix who is 98lbs!!!
Do you have any videos on the Rhodesian ridge back?
First Thought
Wish I could see the entire video
O…. The best part…..
Sometimes……
He would walk in the house and Kennel himself. And how did WE know he did something wrong, He would CLOSE the Door!
If he were Just going in to get out of the way, the door stayed open, lol
Hey. My my neighbor letstheor Cane Corso roam free without even a collar on? Any advice, expert? Like roaming through the neighborhood
What if they pee when you stand over them how do fix that
In my family we do it different. Say if you got a new puppy you are tried to put them in the kennel. Want I learn if you keep saying kennel the dog will understand soon
I just bite my dogs to show em who’s alpha lol
🤣😤
Hahaha that legendary line is from the movie “Snow Dogs”
Good one 😂
Gee ur smart I’ve done the same
I need the rest
"DONT DO THIS"
*does it*
😂
Lmfao
Part 2?
Where can I get a crate that big ?
♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍
Never understood crates. Never really needed them for my dogs. I guess some dogs just can’t be trusted alone at home or night.
Barriers yes ! Crates no !
That's what worked for me haha
Does this apply to nieces and nephews?lol
I still am so offended him calling it kaaanay corso idc if it’s right kayn corso just sounds more right
I have seen lesser Dogs chew their way out of that type of cage.
Nope my frenchie/micro exotic bully nix got trained without treats at all.just with praises.. she learned very fast and was eager to learn...she picks the treat from my hand by tapping her paw to correct hand as challenge ..I don't believe in rewarding for correct behavior from the beginning because she will expect that all the time...I did the same with my human kids
CANE ...as in walking cane
Yeahhhh......what happens when you need the dog in the crate right then and you have no food??? Or any other command if you treat-train one???
I was taught to use the thing that effects the dog the most........giving or withholding affection.
I wish I could borrow you for one day with my Cane Corso. Your the best. Keep up the good work.
high-value treats?
lol
People use crates as punishment. I use mine for safety and a safe space ..sleeping area ..I also hang toys from the top that she can play tug of war with and she loves to be in there..she gives in herself if I yell at her..let me get away from this loud ass lady lol
Food
"buck 50, buck 60"...just say 'pounds' dude.
I don't treat train. Old school train.
Cages are just good for when you need to clean the house or something, people really shouldn’t be getting a dog if their just going to cage em all day…
sry i could never put my dog in crate.
Why are dogs put in crates? What's wrong with a dog bed?
Don't do this!
Goes ahead and does it anyway.
I don't understand, you guys did a video on Top 3 Dogs you shouldn't own and the #1 dog was the Cane Corso.....but a lot of your videos lately star a .....Cane Corso. Why feature them so prominently if 99% of your subscribers shouldn't own one?
No crate !!!!!! If you don’t have time for that special fur baby , don’t get it
LOL I used to have to crawl into the cage and pull him in and then wiggle out from around him and climb out 🤣 worst tactic in the world. Thank the lord we never made him go into a crate unless we were getting on a plane or something out of the ordinary. Should have been smarter and made sure we did sound crate training as a pup.
Like children, food talks.
I don't know why my dog should be in a cage.🤔
Bro please it’s Kane corso not kané
I don't recommend this at all. I took care of a 1 year old cane Corso and I picked his ass up looked him in the eye and said "I love u ... But get Yo Ass in that cage" and he did. No treats needed lol. True story.
And un healthy
Don't do this! *dose the thing* 😅
using a cage for a dog and calling himself trainer🤦♂️
I will never understand this whole crate thing.
Why not? When they are babies they get into stuff and randomly pee..I've never had a dog not like it's crate, and never had my stuff ruined either..obviously not locked up all day but what's a reason to not crate train your dog? Honestly
It’s not canê corso it’s pronounced Cane corso . 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
But I see you are just feeding the dogs like shit of food, I don't give my kid that much food to learn something
Well, good news is they aren't humans.
Crazy how you’re comparing your kid to a dog 😭
Damn, smh but great fucking joke
@@rockstarslump6847 his kid go in the cage without treats
You can’t compare a dog to a person, they think differently. This does remind me of when my brother said “if I call a dog a furbaby, why can’t I call a human baby a skindog?” 😆
