Add oulets for things that might be added later such as a water softener system, whole house humidifier, and a garage heater. Finally, add additional outlets in the garage and basement since many builders only do the minimum.

Thanks, great information. You gave me solid ideas for my checklist. I'm also in the midst of deciding where I want smart switches vs. smart lights or motion detection switches so I don't have to pay for a basic switch or light, then pay for the upgrade
