    One thing I realized after 30 years of watching playoffs is that it’s the role players that put you over the edge. Stars usually cancel eachother out.

    So happy for Aaron Gordon and MPJ. They are both awesome teammates and just good human beings. The Nuggets are all high character guys its seems. I was wondering why they traded Bones (not saying he's a bad dude) but it was strictly due to his selfishness on the court, they increased their vibes after that trade.

    • @serbianwarrior385
      @serbianwarrior385 Рік тому +7

      They traded Bones because he was jelaous on Murray because he wanted more playing time,also he had big ego and walk out from Denver practice, after that it was just matter of time they trade him,especially since Denver is literally known as one of the most egoless teams in the league.

    It is because of Jokic. The level of offense improved greatly because they can read each other. Same as Murray too.

      Its because of the team....if one piece is missing..no ring....look at Jokic when murray wasnt there...they were dealt pretty easily....even with murray just think about gordon missing....still they would get no ring....of course people and especially journalists wanna spin narratives....if i wanna be completely honest the Mavs run last year with Doncic and a..lottery type team was more impressive than this Nuggets chip....

    In the first quarter of game 1 Gordon completely changed the way Miami wanted to play the NBA Finals. The starters who contributed so much to Miami in the first 3 rounds were relegated to the bench and were forced out of their normal rhythm and struggled with consistency. Gordon was fantastic on both sides of the ball and took strategic Olympics from Miami to try and compete. Which they did heroically for 5 games.

    Gordon made himself into Joker's left hand, while Murray his right. When Jok gets the ball in the center floor, Gordon knows cutting to the basket becomes a viable option and so does his defender. This forces the defense to counter and the rest of the play can profit in many ways as the floor opens. Gordon is precisely the sort of puzzle piece one would expect to play in synergy with Jok's feeds around the basket. Butler and Lowry hardly had that much success with feeding Bam, while getting less output as a whole. When the Heat were doing teamwork it seemed forced and last-second, save for a few runs from downtown sprinkled in blandly. They often felt lost on team plays and instead would play variations of hot potato. Denver, in contrast, used combinations of pre-developed plays whose strategic outcome was usually greater than the sum of their parts. Gordon's big enough and confident enough to jam through contact that feeding him in the paint quickly became one of Joker's favorite finishing moves. Great teamwork all year from a slow-building championship franchise. Every year for a while the west is going to fear Denver in the spring time. 🏀🐴🏆📸

    • @butternutter_requiem9038
      @butternutter_requiem9038 Рік тому +9

      it all seemed like the heat was being haphazard because that’s pretty much what they were doing - there was no real facilitator like jokic (who is also the best passer/facilitator in the league; he does what he does the best and there’s no question he’s top 3 all time at it). the heat aren’t bad, but rather, they are missing a piece; much like the nuggets were missing aaron gordon. i’m happy for denver even tho they put on a clinic against my heat, but if i wanted anyone else to win, i wanted the nuggs to win. joker is too likeable and the team dynamic is amazing

      What personal numbers did he sacrifice?

    • @SaraChin-cb3ve
      @SaraChin-cb3ve Рік тому

      You don't make sense. He was never an integral offensive player in the first place. For reference, Blake Griffin with a terrible shooting stroke is a much more competent and confident jump shooter than Gordon. Since Gordon's shooting wasn't reliable, they had to get him more involved on defense, rebounding, passing (he's also inconsistent here) and making points via free throws, transitions, cuts and occasional lucky jump shots and 3s.

  • @JJJJ-jw8hc
    @JJJJ-jw8hc Рік тому +3

    goes to show how important your situation is. AG's offensive improvement shows that it was always possible, but perhaps never had a good environment to do it when he was being depended on as the number 1 option (and probably defaulted to what he already did well rather than branch out). Being teammates with Nikola jokic also helps

    I hope that the Nuggets can keep these guys together. Except for 3 players, they are a young team, and will only get better. Jokic is a classic example of a Superstar who makes everyone on the floor better. I mean, Braun is only 22 and is totally on-board with the team concept. Aaron Gordon is the glue that makes this team happen. When they are in sync, the Nuggets are impossible to defend, and are just a joy to watch them at work. No egos here, just results. I love AG's game.

    I’ve read a lot of criticism of AG just being Jokics receiver, but especially with Jokics ridiculous passing skills, you have to be dang good to read/know the play and be at the right spot at the right time to do that.
    And as others have said, the Nuggets don’t have “role players”, they have teammates. You listen to Jokic and Murray and they don’t see themselves as any more important to the team’s success than anyone else.

    Not to take anything away from Aaron Gordon KD being bothered by physical defense is nothing new at all and it's always been his downfall in the playoffs outside of his years with the Warriors and I guess you can say with the Nets against the Bucks when he had to carry an injured team. @@justthefaxYT Jokic never won 3rd MVP, but we all know he "won" it, just like Gordon "won" both of those slam dunks.

    Your also underestimating his defense on Lebron significantly. He's not going to shut down lebron, like AD isnt going to shut down Jokic. Its that he's able to be a force on defense and that showed when Lebron himself was even frustrated with him that he started shoving him. I've never seen Lebron act like that. Not to mention that fact that when Jokic is out, sometimes AG plays center. His defensive versatility is huge. He's literally guarding 1-5. Plus, he also gives you another option on offense.
