So happy for Aaron Gordon and MPJ. They are both awesome teammates and just good human beings. The Nuggets are all high character guys its seems. I was wondering why they traded Bones (not saying he's a bad dude) but it was strictly due to his selfishness on the court, they increased their vibes after that trade.
They traded Bones because he was jelaous on Murray because he wanted more playing time, also he had big ego and walk out from Denver practice, after that it was just matter of time they trade him, especially since Denver is literally known as one of the most egoless teams in the league.
Its because of the team....if one piece is missing..no ring....look at Jokic when murray wasnt there...they were dealt pretty easily....even with murray just think about gordon missing....still they would get no ring....of course people and especially journalists wanna spin narratives....if i wanna be completely honest the Mavs run last year with Doncic and a..lottery type team was more impressive than this Nuggets chip....
Some players struggle as number 1 or two option, but can absolutely thrive when the pressure is taken off them to be the main source of buckets. Aaron Gordon is like Wiggins, very similar story.
Excellent summary of AG and his amazing transformation. He definitely was the tipping point in many games at critical times. His teammates completely understand his worth to the Nuggets! (I am a Denver resident and long-time Nuggets fan)
I think AG was the Nuggets second best player for 3/4ths of the season, and was their best defender all year. Love to see this team win! And Gordon celebrating with the fans after game five was epic!
I agree. Loved what AG was doing this year. He’s been my favourite player for a while. Hope AG can aim for the DPOY. Also playoff Murray just happens and so it was only a matter of time 😂
In the first quarter of game 1 Gordon completely changed the way Miami wanted to play the NBA Finals. The starters who contributed so much to Miami in the first 3 rounds were relegated to the bench and were forced out of their normal rhythm and struggled with consistency. Gordon was fantastic on both sides of the ball and took strategic Olympics from Miami to try and compete. Which they did heroically for 5 games.
Gordon made himself into Joker's left hand, while Murray his right. When Jok gets the ball in the center floor, Gordon knows cutting to the basket becomes a viable option and so does his defender. This forces the defense to counter and the rest of the play can profit in many ways as the floor opens. Gordon is precisely the sort of puzzle piece one would expect to play in synergy with Jok's feeds around the basket. Butler and Lowry hardly had that much success with feeding Bam, while getting less output as a whole. When the Heat were doing teamwork it seemed forced and last-second, save for a few runs from downtown sprinkled in blandly. They often felt lost on team plays and instead would play variations of hot potato. Denver, in contrast, used combinations of pre-developed plays whose strategic outcome was usually greater than the sum of their parts. Gordon's big enough and confident enough to jam through contact that feeding him in the paint quickly became one of Joker's favorite finishing moves. Great teamwork all year from a slow-building championship franchise. Every year for a while the west is going to fear Denver in the spring time. 🏀🐴🏆📸
it all seemed like the heat was being haphazard because that’s pretty much what they were doing - there was no real facilitator like jokic (who is also the best passer/facilitator in the league; he does what he does the best and there’s no question he’s top 3 all time at it). the heat aren’t bad, but rather, they are missing a piece; much like the nuggets were missing aaron gordon. i’m happy for denver even tho they put on a clinic against my heat, but if i wanted anyone else to win, i wanted the nuggs to win. joker is too likeable and the team dynamic is amazing
Gordon literally played like Jokic's extension on the court. Defensively, he was the leader of the defense and did his job pretty well. He is perfect for #3 option.
That, Denver play as a team and it seems like it is a rare quality to NBA teams to have. Isoball produce cool highlights, but it hurt the beauty of the game.
there were parts of these games where aaron gordon was DOMINATING with his athleticism. dominating isnt a term I ever thought Id use with AG, but, here we are. great coaching + great offensive scheme. he looked like a world beater!!
he had a perfect season, put down his ego and had a so much impact for denver to be a champions team Thank you AG, from SERBIA, We all love your style playing this game
Aaron Gordon bought in the Denver system and played a valuable role helping with his all-around game, basically he is sacrificing his personal numbers for the sake of the team
You don't make sense. He was never an integral offensive player in the first place. For reference, Blake Griffin with a terrible shooting stroke is a much more competent and confident jump shooter than Gordon. Since Gordon's shooting wasn't reliable, they had to get him more involved on defense, rebounding, passing (he's also inconsistent here) and making points via free throws, transitions, cuts and occasional lucky jump shots and 3s.
goes to show how important your situation is. AG's offensive improvement shows that it was always possible, but perhaps never had a good environment to do it when he was being depended on as the number 1 option (and probably defaulted to what he already did well rather than branch out). Being teammates with Nikola jokic also helps
Role players win chips. An example of this is J.J Barea. In Wade's words, "We practiced to stop the starters, but no one had a plan for that little guy"
I hope that the Nuggets can keep these guys together. Except for 3 players, they are a young team, and will only get better. Jokic is a classic example of a Superstar who makes everyone on the floor better. I mean, Braun is only 22 and is totally on-board with the team concept. Aaron Gordon is the glue that makes this team happen. When they are in sync, the Nuggets are impossible to defend, and are just a joy to watch them at work. No egos here, just results. I love AG's game.
Have y'all see the edited photo from IG of his dunk under both legs but instead of dunk contest it's NBA champion version with Denver's mascot and number 50 Aaron Gordon dunking the Larry O'Brien
The ability of a 6-10 Porter to spread the court also add a positive effect. I have been with nugget since AGs trade. I thought back then that they found the missing piece. Joker is my fav player since Boris Diaw. Frankly joker is a better version of diaw. What a time to be alive.
I’ve read a lot of criticism of AG just being Jokics receiver, but especially with Jokics ridiculous passing skills, you have to be dang good to read/know the play and be at the right spot at the right time to do that. And as others have said, the Nuggets don’t have “role players”, they have teammates. You listen to Jokic and Murray and they don’t see themselves as any more important to the team’s success than anyone else.
"A lot of guys say that". Spot on. We always hear about how "unselfish" guys are in press conferences. It doesn't show on the court. AG MEANS it. I couldn't be happier with the dude
What I like about Gordon is whenever he got a rebound his instinct is to push it forward. I always saw him looking past ahead for a second even though jokic was beside or behind him. Seems to me he's looking for a pass or reading the defense and may try to drive it himself.
When MPJ learns to use his height when defending and gets even better with his blocks and rebounding, with AG, KCP, Braun, Brown , Watson, the Nuggets defence will start to look scary.
I actually remember some commentator - I think it was Zach Lowe - about three years ago, while AG was still in Orlando, remarked, "I could see Gordon as the #3 player on a championship team."
I always wished he'd win a Chip after the dunk contests that he was supposedly have won. Now he has a ring which is a dream for everyone. Shout out to AG, I see you.
aaron gordon deff delivered, he was such an asset and made the difference, this summer mpj needs to develop his game, hes being paid too much just to be a spot up shooter.
I think like with woriors and Dramont, both are SECOND best players in teams. For win the champions both must be their best in both side of the flor every vining games while Jamal and Klay doesnt. AG is yust perfect fit vith Joker, second most important player in nuggets.

I am overjoyeed for AG. He gave up his superstar role and became a super important player on a championship team. He always works hard a deserves all the accolades that he receives. It must have felt like he had been given a second chance a basketball and seems to be having more fun than ever!
if you have too many star players in the court then it's gonna be a much bigger problem when everyone wants to shine and wants to put a triple double every game. but with players like gordon or brown who knows their role and knows winning is more important, that's when we got a championship winning team.
I really respect how Gordon guarded Bron. Because with bron you have to pick your poison. And better to let bron make a contested shot then it would be to let him get jokic or Murray in foul trouble.
Not to take anything away from Aaron Gordon KD being bothered by physical defense is nothing new at all and it's always been his downfall in the playoffs outside of his years with the Warriors and I guess you can say with the Nets against the Bucks when he had to carry an injured team. Most of his playoff losses though, yeah that is the case with KD.
I think Denver has made changes to the way the game is played in general. I don't see any player on the team being a roll player. They literally made a team that works perfectly. This can be seen from the fact that now all the other teams are trying to find a solution to stop Denver, not how to stop one player. AG fit in perfectly.
The difference between AG and Wiggins is AG wasn't in a contract year this year wiggins was last year. Not saying wiggs was only motivated by money but you see certain guys ball out in contract years. Well see next year with wiggins if last year was the anomaly
On Orlando he wanted to be a star and bought into illusion of new Paul Geroge ( tnx to dummy Vogel ). He was taking horrid mid range jumpers he couldn't make and wanted to play with ball as handler. leaving Orlando and going to Denver, his role was changed into role player he always was, playing to his strenghts, not ballhandling and not shooting dummy jumpshots he can't make on consistant bases.
Regardless he's an Alpha dog as well as murray. They can take over games if they have to. That with having the best player in the NBA is a recipe for success
Look i love the nuggets and AG i aint miss a game in like 6 years but saying the greatest role player ever just shows your youth because Celtics and Lakers in 80s,the Bad Boys they all had great role players too, heck even going back to 1960s celtics they had great role players. Your also underestimating his defense on Lebron significantly. He's not going to shut down lebron, like AD isnt going to shut down Jokic. Its that he's able to be a force on defense and that showed when Lebron himself was even frustrated with him that he started shoving him. I've never seen Lebron act like that. Not to mention that fact that when Jokic is out, sometimes AG plays center. His defensive versatility is huge. He's literally guarding 1-5. Plus, he also gives you another option on offense.
One thing I realized after 30 years of watching playoffs is that it’s the role players that put you over the edge. Stars usually cancel eachother out.
makes the biggest difference 💯
If Jordan needed a Rodman, everybody needs a Rodman
While i think role players are fundamental to win, i don't think that butler and adebayo played at the same level of jokic and murray
@@lucaleno2719 They arent at the same level. Still making it to the finals was an amazing achievement
They're called teammates not role players.
Aaron Gordon+Jokic Passes are just 👌 Jokic compliments Gordon's offensive game so much.
AG was a madman in the playoffs. Inside, outside, he was ballin on Everyone.
I like that Gordon plays with heart, he gives it all he has.🎉
In my opinion it was very satisfying watching a guy like AG play so well in the platoffs and win a ring.

It is because of Jokic. The level of offense improved greatly because they can read each other. Same as Murray too.
I do agree Joker makes everyone better. But honestly AG IA an Alpha like murray
Its a great scheme with a mvp leading it. cant go wrong!
its beautiful basketball when its unselfish and high IQ
Some players struggle as number 1 or two option, but can absolutely thrive when the pressure is taken off them to be the main source of buckets. Aaron Gordon is like Wiggins, very similar story.
Excellent summary of AG and his amazing transformation. He definitely was the tipping point in many games at critical times. His teammates completely understand his worth to the Nuggets!
(I am a Denver resident and long-time Nuggets fan)
In these playoffs, AG showed passing skills I never knew he had. That long bounce pass to Murray cutting into the paint was incredible.
Everybody that come to nuggets will automatically know how to pass better
I think AG was the Nuggets second best player for 3/4ths of the season, and was their best defender all year. Love to see this team win! And Gordon celebrating with the fans after game five was epic!

Learned to love this guy during the championship run. Deserves a few
My favorite player and he learned his roles. Players need to understand that everyone can't be a superstar on the team.
In the first quarter of game 1 Gordon completely changed the way Miami wanted to play the NBA Finals. Gordon was fantastic on both sides of the ball and took strategic Olympics from Miami to try and compete. Which they did heroically for 5 games.
Yes my man AG..he is unique in his own way..he is tall enough to guard the rim but fast enough to guard the perimeter..denver got a multi stage player
so versatile
This championship is more than the Dunking Competition he should have won some years back. He truly deserve this one.
Gordon made himself into Joker's left hand, while Murray his right. When Jok gets the ball in the center floor, Gordon knows cutting to the basket becomes a viable option and so does his defender. AG was exactly what the Nuggets needed he gave them tuffness
AG... smart young man. Improving, getting better, growing... He's in a perfect place and doing all the right things.
AG is a beast!!! Integral part of this Denver team, as Jokic referred to him as "soul of the team"!!!
Aaron Gordon bought in the Denver system and played a valuable role helping with his all-around game, basically he is sacrificing his personal numbers for the sake of the team

Aaron Gordon surprised me. Without his play the series may have been closer and who knows.
Im so proud of A-Aron! ❤
My wife and I are basketball lovers and really enjoyed AG. Thanks for the highlights and analysis.

i feel he was robbed of an All Star appearance, he was 2nd best player in the Nuggets team during season
He was playing much better in the first half of the year as well, unfortunate.
I became an Aaron Gordon fan this year. Tough and physical. Not to metion a prolific dunker. The real deal.
Same❤
tremendous athlete! the agility, coordination, speed...God engineered a fine one!

The physicality of this guy alone is impressive. He’s got a big boy body.

Watson is interesting, Need players like Braun and Watson on rookie salaries to keep Denver in cap range.
I actually remember some commentator - I think it was Zach Lowe - about three years ago, while AG was still in Orlando, remarked, "I could see Gordon as the #3 player on a championship team."
With the hard work he could be the next finals MVP if they go back to back.
Great video 👍
thank you
In all things related to basketball, it's still teamwork that wins championships!
Nice work JTF

much love man 🔛🔝🔜
Nuggets 3rd best player in the finals. AG was huge
i think nuggets environment could make every player become better
It's because he was changed by Nikola game style, he loved it and that's the output
one correction he was the second best player during the regular season not Murray
Good video for a great team player 👏!
I always wished he'd win a Chip after the dunk contests that he was supposedly have won. Now he has a ring which is a dream for everyone. Shout out to AG, I see you.
Been waiting for AG to be recognised like this
I LOVE AG!
How can you not like the Nuggets?
how AG transformed his game: he changed his hairstyle.
i love how gordon backed out KAT on a postup.
It was Mally Mall to stop James on that very last play in G4; James managed to ball up right after, and Gordon smacked it
I like his hairstyles.. keep changing
aaron gordon deff delivered, he was such an asset and made the difference, this summer mpj needs to develop his game, hes being paid too much just to be a spot up shooter.
I think Aaron contributed more than Jamal. To me he is the second most important player in Denver.
AG got rob twice in dunk contest but hes a champion now so good
Good.vid!
Gordon is like Draymond he's a super role player it didnt work out in orlando because they needed stars not role players.
Best plus minus in this year's playoffs. 👍 AG crushed it
AG was like a 3rd option. Not really your normal "role player." He could easily go to a crappy team and be the number 1 option like he was in Orlando.
Decent video, scratch that 😉- pretty good video.
AG IS MR. NUGGET!!BEST 2 WAY PLAYER IN THE GAME BY FAR
AG sure has blossomed in his game and appearance just sayin. He is way easy on the eyes, lol.
Yup he is a really good player who can play on both sides of the floor.Dirty work some players dont exept because ego.
