you cannot understand how MONUMENTAL this was for the fans back when the crew showcased this back at Comic-con 2015. just that one shot of the gem in the back turning around was something so subtle but sent chills down the fans' spine back in the day.
(Maybe spoiler?) And nowadays, it’s just auntie yellow giraffe doing meme face 😂 (This doesn’t count as a spoiler right? For people who doesn’t know, I might as well be spitting utter nonsense.)
An incredible adorable detail about this, they actually were able to reuse a clip of Zach Callison (Steven's VA) singing the theme from way back when they recorded the pilot, when Zach was about 11 or 12! It keeps the authenticity of kid Steven's voice, and is just adorable
You got correct info, this is really the best time to watch the extended intro. The mysterious character that turns their head is really best seen for the first time here as an excellent teaser!
fun fact: that little song was actually sung by zach (va for steven) for the pilot episode of steven universe and it's such a cool thing to bring it back for the extended intro. i don't know if you both have checked it out yet, but I highly recommend watching it.
This intro was presented as a teaser for the second season of SU, showing us all the events of the first season, with all the internal plots of each character and their motivations, as well as introducing the next big villain: the yellow and angry giant gem at the end of the intro. .
Funnily enough you HAVE seen that mysterious gem before, but it's always been in the background. Even though she hasn't been name dropped, if you payed very close attention to the aesthetics, you could figure who she is based on contextual clues. Just one of the things I love about the show.
I literally cried watching this vid. "The odds are against us, this won't be easy but we're not gonna do it alone" I just currently finished Day 1/3 of my first(and hopefully last) CPA Board Examination. I have been with Steven Universe from highschool to college and now the licensure examinations. I just wanna breakdown😢😢😢
One thing I've always appreciated about this intro is that we see a bit of Greg's hesitation at turning over Steven to the Gems. We see Steven moving into the house for the first time and Greg leaving him there for the first time. And as he's walking out, he turns and just silently looks at the Gems. It's subtle but fairly clear that he's worried, which is very understandable. There's so many fine details like this throughout the show and they really give the sense that SU was made with so much care.
My favorite moment of the intro in the running on the beach, as Steven is horribly outpaced by the gems, till he is off screen, as they silhouette showing the events of season one. The event showing Stevens growth and the eventual him not only managing to catch up to the gems on the beach but he runs head, and leaps forward.
That mysterious yellow gem has been teased before multiple times, even name dropped fairly recently. The amount of subtle foreshadowing this show has is brilliant and makes rewatching it an absolute treat.
What I love is that in the classic intro (and start of this) Steven is lagging behind in the running scene, because he really just was tagging along and not as capable as the rest of the group, but now Steven runs in front, maybe not quite taking on a leader role, but being capable enough to potentially belong on front.
Back in the day when this was shown at a panel for Steven Universe it was HYPED beyond belief. The scene of Jasper, Peridot, Lapis, and the mystery gem (which we’ve heard her name before) always and still gives me chills!! I can’t wait for more. 😊
I've watched and rewatched this a million times, and am now watching reactions in this and three more channels, but I cried. I have no idea SU makes me emotional in some moments that are absolutely random!
If you guys care to do a rewatch, mystery gem's name was mentioned back in The Return. If you don't, its cool, you'll find out soon enough, but the fandom when wild when this was first shown!
I remember watching hours of video theories on UA-cam about every single frame we were teased about upcoming plots or characters. We were *freaking the fuck out* when that character was shown in the background.
Sorry for not commenting on the last few videos about Steven, I was waiting for you to react the whole first season to see everything at once Good video as always
I can see how this would get you pumped for the next season. Unfortunately, I saw this after watching the show. (I just didn't know.) I live these reactions. Later on, you have to see their actual chibis.
That one that you don't know yet was Tim, Devourer of Other People's French Fries. Despite the title, Tim hates french fries, which is definitively villain territory.

"There we go, Sapphire and Pearl, there."
He's a little confused but his heart's in the right place.
I misspoke 🤣
Sapphire + pearl = garnet 💀💀
I think it's funny how he consistently keeps calling Ruby "Pearl" on accident lol
🤣
it's cute

1:16 I love how Amethyst is the only one who doesn't wear her original outfit, meaning she got poofed before ep 1
$20 says it was a silly stunt.

(maybe spoilers?) she has been name dropped, once, in the episode before jailbreak
In jailbreak itself, actually.

Back in the day it was big comic con hype.

The gem in the back turning with the glowing yellow eye sent SHIVERS through my body, I wish I could relive watching for the first time growing up 😂
So glad I subbed to you guys I love all the uploads also I must say I was sad it was only a 5 minuet vid I wanted more 😩😭
We didn't make the song only 3 minutes long! 😂
@@ProjectSenpai yes I guess lol 😂 I just love watching you guys so I was sad when the video ended

SU fan boards exploded with "who the f is that??"
Most correctly guessed who this mysterious character was, though. "Is that...?"
Loved this!! Keep it up guys
Did he just called Ruby Pearl during Garnet's part?

even though i'm not the biggest steven universe fan 3:20 this part was fire
Demasiado bueno hermano
You're reactions are always fire
Jasper mentioned her in the finale in passing. Don’t want to say her name, but it has been said.
dont forget garnet is ruby and sapphire not sapphire and pearl
how come i never noticed *mysterious new villain* turned around???
Can I ask how far you are into the show for patreon subs?
Episodes 15 & 16 come out in a few hours ☺️
