- My portfolio that I used to apply to the Bachelors of Animation degree program at Sheridan College. Made this video so that future applicants know what to do and what not to do!

You got an amazing score!!!! The cutoffs for Sheridan are only getting higher and higher, it's ridiculous. You totally nailed it, keep it up!!
95% cutoff is insane 😭😭 your portfolio was incredible though, im confident you will find success in your career regardless of the school
It gave me agony the fact that in all categories your grades weren't bad and you still didn't pass :( I intend to one day pass as an international student too, so this video will help me a lot!! you will definitely pass next time!!
It was definitely dissapointing especially when the score would have been good enough if I was just Canadian but I'm still proud of how I did! Best of luck on your application :)

I went to Sheridan and had some friends who took the animation program! (I wasn't in animation myself, and I didn't end up graduating from there)

Also, these schools should offer animation storytelling, screenwriting, theory and history of animation to students who DON'T DRAW.
Many people are very good at drawing and animating, but really lack any true expertise at the aforementioned or they're not just cut for it/interested in it.
Both "sides" could complement each other.

why for international is 95%!!??
I would have thought a 90% would be considered as a passing whenever your doing portfolios don’t know anything about the whole grading process but I can see you actually did a great job and deserve a passing grade

You can practice these with a flipbook or with free animation software such as Krita, OpenToonz, Pencil2D, and Blender

If you don’t mind me asking, how long does this take to complete? I’m curious about applying for Animation at Sheridan, but idk how to start off since I have not taken any fundamental art classes.
Also, what is the grade to pass their portfolio examination?
It took about 2 months to put my portfolio together. This year, the passing score was 90 for domestic and 95 for international, though it changes every year based on demand.

There are no rules about that so you can use whatever size you want
Ok... can someone please Explaine me why everyone is talking about Sheridan school? Like aren't there other more school? I know some really love anime but don't wanna to study at Japan, i get it maybe they don't wanna learn Japanese since it kinda too hard that why they pick Sheridan aka one of the Canada top school i believe? why not other school? why this school??
Because the art industry is elitist and people either go into debt for life just for the privilege to be taught at a prestigious art university. Or their parents pay for college.

Did they tell you what exactly got the point off? How can you know where to improve? What are the differences with other participants works that scored better?
They don't tell you why they deduct points. A great way to know how to improve is to join a community, usually you'll be able to find a Discord server for prospective Sheridan applicants in which you can receive critique from both other applicants and already accepted students. A lot of the applicants that scored better I found have taken life drawing classes which have strengthened their fundamentals, you can usually find these at your local community college. Where do you animate?
I used Toon Boom Harmony! But it's a paid software, so if you're looking for a free alternative, try Krita, OpenToonz, or Pencil2D

With everyone's characters saving multiverse going on too sloogs, with tankman, eddsworld, satina, and pico from the newgrounds website. Evil purple things killing them, there's blood Everywhere. Those evil purple invasion are super strong, and very powerful too. Seriously strong. :'(

The bar for passing is higher for international students. And I won't be re-trying, I'm very happy at the college I ended up at! Good luck if you are applying this year!
