I liked that they kept to the traditional melody and did not go off in tangents like so many guitarists. Nice chords and harmony also. And yes, the wah was fine and complimented the tone and song.
Personally I kind of prefer the anti war Hendrix version. I'd prefer a closer to the melody version but the sounds of bombs rockets machine gun fire and death wails are a nice touch about what it truly costs to be free.

It's basically a power chord but with an added octave for the 5th below the root. The fingering is the same as a power chord starting on the A string, just also put your index finger over the low E. It's a neat way to make your power chords nastier.
What I like vs other versions from guitarists, is they turned it into a song with no ego moments. Such pros. It's a ballgame, not a concert and this really fit the moment.
