When Sepultura recorded the chaos a.d album in monmouth uk they took a trip to a local castle in chepstow where i'm from and recorded this song..if you listen you can hear the seagulls in the background
That is so cool. I remember hearing the birds and thinking they were in a makeshift studio in rural Brazil to capture that energy. I love learnt the true story now.
Don't know how I stumbled across this tonight, but I'm glad I did! Aaaaah the memories...I feel so old saying this, but here goes, I was a Sepultura fan...BIG fan...era 1989, the year they released
I suppose this band would love to hear what people think about THEM. This is the first time I've heard them and they are AMAZING! Very cool. Thanks for postting this.
haven't heard this in years, just happened accoss it tonight...have to agree...the original was just as/more powerful...either way...fantastic tune, brings me back to a time I'd forgotten about...brilliant ;)
Sepultura is a Brazilian band of Death/thrash metal. It(she) was formed(trained) in Belo Horizonte's city by two brothers, Max and Igor Cavalera, that they learned to dominate his(her, your) instruments autodidactically: Max the guitar and Igor the battery, joining with some friends of the neighborhood where they were living, in Belo Horizonte's hard economic and social reality, in the condition(state) of Mines Gerais; Paulo Pinto in under(low) and Jairo T in the second guitar.
Metallica316, this is a seminal track from a seminal album (--adjective 1. having possibilities of future development. 2. highly original and influencing the development of future events: a seminal artist; seminal ideas.) I've heard them playing it live, back whan Max was still with them...absolutly fantastic...THIS IS SEPULTURA!
i saw sepultura on their last european-tour with max 1996 in hannover, germany>> awesome show, and they played this amazing song *happy* ...i read all these aggressive, racist comments full of hate>> are you kids the new generation of sepultura-fans?! shame on you! :-( ...you will never understand the metal-mentality of the 80s & 90s ...cheers
...about 15 years ago this was the first Sepultura track, where I asked my roommate that which band plays this awesomeness. This tune is still epic.

The birds sound was added in post production. Check your facts.
This is the true brazillian rhythm for me! The northeastern folk guitar, with the african drums and the heavy metal presence. Beautiful!

That last push from Igor while the cameras are focused on him is bad ass.
Seeing this song played live back in 1994 was the best thing ever I have ever witnessed . They had drums all the way across the stage it was awesome!
This is an awesome performance- look at the audience! Now THAT is a show!
The drummer of sepultura was on of the best of the 90's if I remember well.
