Glad you guys had a go time. A couple clarifications. The white helicopter was in the Tom Hanks movie Apollo 13 and that's why it had all the patches of capsules on the nose. Hornet didn't recover all those. Second the yellow aircraft on the flight deck is a T-28 Trojan and you were correct, it was used as a trainer. Third the other aircraft that you said was a A-6 Intruder at the beginning of your VLOG is in fact a F-8 Crusader. Sorry you were disappointed about the few aircraft on the flight deck we are always moving planes between the hanger and flight deck. Very nice video.

Ok I can understand that the Hornet didnt recover all the Capsules but could it be possible that aircraft was on ships that did? I dont actually know so I am asking. Seems like odds are against one aircraft recovering all of them since different ships recovered them all and i doubt that same bird was embarked on each vessel that just happened to recover them all

Also my brother used to work on Aircraft carriers, for the Royal navy, he worked on Harriers and Lynx helicopters. Plus he worked on the sea kings like at 11:01
Actually he still works on sea kings, but for the RAF SAR teams. I actually wish I had of chosen that career.
Served on the USS HIGGINS DDG-76 many years ago. First time i was on the boat i didnt know where to go. Look for the crews mess and berthing. Lol I was stationed in SD. 2 deployments, had a great time. Had Fleet week in SF.

If you thought the Hornet was cool you should com east and visit Charleston, SC and tour the USS Yorktown. I just toured it and it took about 6 hours to completely see everything that you can possibly see.
Been on the hornet 3 times, it’s just amazing.
Jeff is a lot more different now, so is buggs
