I saw Nils at the Sydney Opera House a few years ago, and he played a highly toned-down version of Says. Some people, maybe including the composer, don't hear the thunderous electronic ecstasy of this mix. I do, though.

i allways imagine sa flower that opens in all its beauty at 6:05. You wait for an eternity for something to happen. a great tune from the beginning but you know after a minute or so that there is something coming, it has to, IT MUST.
the anticipation and buildup is magnificent work as the promise that was never given but still was there. every single time it fills me with some kind of optimism and hope and i really ran the song a lot but never will get old
genius, although my wife hates it, that didnt make me love it even more but definitely made me play it a few times more on very loud on my old jbl ti 5000

I have never had such a strong emotional reaction to a piece of music. The understated, lovely repetition of the majority of the song lulled me into a false sense of security, and then BAM!! I found myself tensed up, straining into my headphones, tears welling in my eyes, transported...somewhere. Somewhere strange and sad; euphoric, nostalgic; filling me with equal parts wonder and pity, resignation and joy; not knowing for what, or why.
There is such power in music; after all these years, I am still caught off guard at times.
    Bravo.

I'm here, sat, trying to figure how with so little someone can do something so pretty. This song is a pure expression of emotion. An expression of intense feelings. It's pure art. I'm sure that the name of the track was not chosen without reason, this track "Says" it all without lyrics. Without complex noises. It's just a piano melody.
We always have the stupid idea that emotions are complex. But it's not like that. Sometimes it boils down to a look, a gesture. That's it. This is why this song conveys a sense of serenity. "Says" it all without saying anything.

Undisputed raw talent in a class of its own, yet it's interesting to hear Nils talk about this piece as one of his less technical and personally underwhelming tracks. He may be being humble but I think for most people this track represents his most accessible piece, serving as a crucial gateway to his imitable back catalogue. If you're starting your journey with Mr Frahm here, please know you're only scratching the surface and have so many more treasures awaiting you as I implore you to dive deeper into his majestic world of brilliance. I write this with immense envy, as the man can only be discovered once. Love and peace to you all.

It’s seems often to be the case that composers, or artists of any kind, can somehow fail to recognise the true value or impact of their own work. Perhaps they become too absorbed in what they perceive to be the work’s deficiencies. As a painter I understand this only too well! However, once that work, be it technically deficient or not, is let loose into the world, it is free to do the work for which it was intended, and to reach the ears and eyes of those destined to hear it or see it. Then it may prove to be far greater for those individuals than it’s creator could ever have imagined possible!

I come back from cinema, where I went to see this film with my 13 year old son ... A real shock !!!
It is incredible, with sensations worthy of the greatest masterpieces. The realism is impressive, and the music is exceptional, as it is in perfect communion with images worthy of an inner mystical experience, or external.
It feels like you're on the moon, you feel like you're on Mars, you feel like you're in space ...
It feels like you're alone in your head ...
And I had the impression of being both son and father, capable of the best and the worst.
I too will try to love ...

The first time I listened to this music was when I watched the premiere of Ad Astra, and then I finished and driven home by myself, it was before daybreak. The car was kept at the maximum volume, and the speed was 110/h on high speed, and it was deep dark at night. There is no car or street light on a section of the road. The part of timeline 5:00 and 5:18’s pictures were exactly what i pictured in my mind at that day when driven home alone with this music. You also know that after 7:00, with the feeling of speeding speed, it is so cool to be alone on the road at night!
I’d love to listen to this kind of background music, the fantasy images in my mind, this is first time that I saw the vision version of this music, I’d like to say it really a visualized music just like this video made. This video is really awesome and pictured every detail!!!
And in my mind some part are not the same, like
The picture at 6:06 would be a ring wave expansion, like normal forward visualization,
The picture at 7:07 would be changed to a ring wave retracting inward, like backward visualization,
The picture at 7:19, with the former wave collapsed at a point and then the scene blasted off.
I don’t know what do you this of that? I just thought that is so cool there’s someone would make an incredible visualized video of some like Ambient music(idk If there’s a kind of type name)
And thanks again for making this.

I have a terminal illness and also I have lost my soulmate 7 years ago...so life can be so hard and you just need to find a space to go into without words...but yet it uplifted the soul at the same time..I've had this on repeat for a while before leaving a comment.. I love all music ....but today I found something wonderful and shall be adding this to my funeral playlist..so when grief hits hard then anyone can just for a moment forget worries of death and suffering and just be taken on a journey that is peacefully blissfully amazing all at the same time..🦋🎶🌑☯️
