Hyperthyroidism vs Hypothyroidism

📌 In hyperthyroidism the thyroid overproduces T3 and T4. It may have the following symptoms:
✔ increased metabolic rate
✔ weight loss
✔ diarrhea
✔ anxiety
✔ tremors
✔ tachycardia
✔ exophthalmos/bulging eyeballs
✔ goiter
📌 In hypothyroidism, the immune system attacks the thyroid tissue resulting in underproduction of T3. It may have the following symptoms:
✔ low metabolic rate
✔ slow heart rate
✔ low body temperature
✔ lower blood pressure
✔ edema
✔ gain weight
✔ constipation
✔ myxedema
