I agree, thanks for the great explanation. I have a Nazgul 5 V3 6s so no solder skill required plus, as far as I understand the ESC is plugged into the FC but still good to know what to do especially when I build my own one someday.

I'd like to change out an ESC on a cheapo ebay drone,make some extended motor support arms,fit bigger motors and larger batteries.
I'm an electronics technician,so the idea of adding some type of buck converter to keep control board voltages as per normal while boosting the the motor volt and current ratings.
Partly because if the ESC can be changed then a light weight cheapo drone could be a great high flight time toy,also the 30min+ drones are bloody pricey,also to build a complete dron is also pricey,whereas a cheap ebay drone for under £100 uk would be a great mule to learn on without worrying about screwing it up,as long as the motor controller can be removed,from the info you impart here it looks promising.
If at the end it can work then the cheap drone could have a better camera fitted ,or maybe if possible a full video system added to work with the gear i already have,i have an eachine novice3 kit i bought SH on ebay,it also came with a T16 flight controller.
I'm still trying to garner as much info as possible ,there seems a lack of good books so far,though that may change as i keep searching,books covering older and new systems as i would prefer to use the eachine headset than a mobile phone as a view screen.
If i can get a good schematic for a ESC i could make one as they don't seem to be more than two layer if even two layer and pwm mosfets as switches are either saturated or cut off ,so thermally speaking not a big issue.
Any thoughts on this ,as an experiment ,any knowledge of cheap drones that have ESC boards that can be removed as i don't know if cheaper drones have complete all in one boards or if separate boards is the norm.
This video enlightened me to the further possibilities of my idea,so big cheers and subbed.

Great video DrainMan! I've had to do that a few times myself, usually I'll use the connector on one end but solder the other.
G'day DrainMan! Hope you're keeping well mate? Is it all possible to connect a 4-in-1 ESC to a KK2.1 FC? I watched this video a few times and am now much more enlightened about 4-in-1's, but still unsure about connecting to a kk FC, as they are set up differently to many other FC's covered in the vid.
Im helping a friend with a very specific project (a university project), and we have to work with the gear they supply, as well as making something thats extremely compact and light. Also, trying to do it without much programming, hence the kk2.1 board. You are one of the most proficient and easy to understand drone guys Ive found on YT, hence why I ask. Thank you kindly 🙏
That was super helpful but I have a 4 in 1 esc with the 8 pins coming out that I have to connect to a SpeedyBee F405 Wing FC, which has like 11 ports with 3 pins each (S1, Vx, G). Do I only connect the Signal pins? How do I handle ground and current?
What about when they have a current monitoring sensor
If your 4in1 has an NC output but no TEL output, can you connect nc to tel on FC?

Mate , I am a total beginner to these things and I am attempting the biggest project in my life - Quadcopter - 4 motors and each motor has two batteries ( 7s and 8s ) and a bought a Holybro 14s PBD which it’s so tinny how do I connect all those batteries to that little thing and cables of my ESCs are the size of a coaxial cable ,I bit confuse ,I appreciate if you can provide some advice !

I just bought the new speedy bee f7 mini flystack , but I’m gunna try this with my old hakrc f4 mini 20A esc , no longer have the flight controller but when I plug in the lipo i still get the” deedee dee “ but not the last 2 chimes because there is no flight controller plugged into it . Now I just need to find another mini f4 flight controller or f7 to use because I don’t want to use the same one and idk if I can even get it anymore let alone know if it’s supported by betaflight anymore
Any idea what the pad labeled "NiC" is on a tmotor flight controller ??? It's one of the wires that break out to the ESC...
Hello i put a kiss fc v2 with a speedy bee 50 amp esc and when i turn it on it stars fine but when i take of it goes crazy .had to change motor ORDER to kiss working ,please help thanks.
I have a F3 flight controller which has 6 pins and 5v and ground and 4 in 1 ESC which has 7 pin which are ground and positive and "C" and 4 motors. Now my question is how to wire this flight controller to ESC?
For a single esc, is signal ground special or is it just any ground?

When wiring my BEC to the 5V pad, the BEC has a positive in and positive out. Where do I solder the positive out too??

Hey man! I'm trying to wire an old Mamba 20x20 FC to a newer Mamba 30x30 ESC. All of the printing is the same EXCEPT for the new ESC has a pad labeled "TX" and on the old FC that pad is labeled "NC". It has to be the same thing, right? Both FC and ESC have 8 pads. All labels match up. The only difference is one pad says TX and the other NC. So I think it's cool to connect the TX pad on the ESC to the NC pad on the FC, right?

I’m so confused..I have a diatone stack with and for some reason the wiring harness is not getting power to my fc so I may end up doing this and trying to solder direct bc I don’t get it ha
I bought a Aries dazzle with the mamba aio 40 amp,one of the ESC has went out from a crash, how do I repair just that one ESC
I have a Brand new HGLRC 30.5x30.5mm F4 FLAME and it takes the batt directly. The ec is a 4 in 1 and 100% works, I am just updating this quad that's all. So just removed old fc for this. As I say wired the batt directly as it says and there's 5 volts to the fc all lights on. The esc doesn't have a white terminal block only solder pads motor 1-4 and i have soldered these to the fc
When i plug the lipo in I am only getting half the beep tones. Da da and not the final beeps. Any ideas?

But some don't match up. I have NC on esc connected to r5 on fc and the rest are matching. Any help would be awesome thanks

Just built my first drone. But only motor 4 spins. I used the multi rotor 25amp castle esc's. All 4 individual esc's. Motors 1, 2, and 3 have an esc with NO BEC, motor #4 has the exact esc, except it is equipped with a BEC. Could that be the reason that only motor #4 spins and the other motors don't respond?

hello!! I have a t-motor f55 pro ESC and I have not been able to link it to the hobbywing f4 g3 fc, the ESC has 2 voltage pads, one Vbat and one 10v, the Fc has 2 pads, one Vbat and one 5v, I have connected only the Vbat and the rest and even so the fc does not turn on, obviously I did not want to link the 10v pad with the 5v of the fc.
I really don't know what to do anymore.
I previously had a t-motor fc f7 pro, I spent 80 dollars and it was a terrible experience, it came poorly assembled and it short-circuited overnight.
