We are the sum of our experiences. We become what we behold and so from this, we can gather of course that our choices matter, that there are real consequences to our actions. For what we choose we become, we are creating linguistic choices govern our faith. I designed, therefore I become. Clearly, I have talked about this before. The whole notion of why design matters, get to the heard of the matter. For what we design, design us back. Our cells (ourselves), it has been written in epigenetics are a technology that literally turns the experience into biology, kind of like an ontological tattoo. Our experiences are written on our faces, they are tattooed on our bodies. Wich tells us of course that we have again, agency over who we become. We have outstretched over our future self. Every moment is rendering who we become in the next moment. David Lentz famously wrote that consciousness is a collaboration between subject and object, so consciousness it is kind like an equation. Is person, right, multiply by place and context multiply by time. Which gives us a kind of garden of forking paths of possible consciousness, of possible self, of possible people that you could be. They tell us also we are the some of the people we spent the most amount of time with, how obvious is this. We become our friends, we become our lovers. We see our selves reflected in how they see us. I am not who you think I am. I am not who I think I am. I am who I think you think I am. So, there are these loops, these feedback loops, this constant mirroring between us and our context, us and the places we dwell, us and the people we encounter, us and the words we use, us and the places we go. So, why all this matter? Matters because we want our lives to stand for something, it matters because meaning matters, it matters because we are standing on a rock. An upright ape naked and trembling before the cosmos. It matters because in the face of the ineffable of the infinite of the unquantifiable of the vast of the space and time on a scale just shy of the infinite we have the opportunity to do something meaningful, to make of our lives a living breathing work of art, because life exists inside of these individual moments and it is up to us to make sure these moments are vital and interconnected and grand and to make of our lives a masterful work of art, a dynamic work of art. One that we would really want to live again and again for all of eternity. This is what we can straight for, this can be our compass, this can be our north star, this can be the reason we get out of our bed in the morning, we can strive for excellence, we can strive for adventure, we can strive for experience. This and more is we can straight for. May you choose wisely. A lot of mistakes, for sure, but I think it could be useful for many out there.
What if I don't spend my time with people, they come and go and I just remain with my own self or with someone I wants to become like. Though I am looking for such people in real life but seems like they don't exist. What would you call that?
But there’re so much about ourself that we don’t know, just like your eyes can’t see themselves or just teeth can’t bite themselves, so how do we know that “we’re” choosing consciously? maybe our decisions are just the byproduct of endless factors that we can’t see. I know some people after this would feel motivated and start doing a lot of great things and feel in control, but isn’t the same when someone gets someone go to church? People may feel very positive about their life, based how good the preacher was at making them feel special in god’s eyes, but is not real, the same way, you don’t get to do make your own decisions, but it feels good.
