I love this kid. He's going to grow up a lot as a performer on this tour. MGK is great at supporting young talent - same with Travis Barker. That's so cool.
Didn't really know anything about him aside from the song he did with MGK, but I still enjoyed the performance. And that drummer went offfff. lol. ( 18:58 he loses his stick and slickly pulls out a new one..lol)
I’m just confused why he won’t sing the songs in the same notes as he does in the recordings. I get that some notes are hard to hit when you’re jumping around on stage but singing the every song in a harmony key? Why?
Because in the studio all the vocals are tuned and corrected to be perfect. And obviously he cant hit those notes live unfortunately, hence the vocal track
he's heavily inspired by juice wrld, and juice was known for his very mobile and active concerts. in fact, you can catch jxdn doing a lot of the signature juice wrld stomping or movements and even some dance moves juice did at his concerts. as a performer, it's not the best for the vocals, but it keeps the audience in tune and attentive
bro have u ever been to a rock concert? that shit would be so dead if the singer just stood there. if i go to a rock concert i wanna be head banging and pushing into people and u can’t do that shit if the vocalist is there like •_•
He just needs to move around less and be better with breath control. Listen to tell me about tomorrow, he’s a lot more on key when he’s not running and jumping constantly
Every fucking time he sings or i hear "tell me about tomorrow" i cry, bro i tbh dk how imma act in april when i see him preform and in person with VIP!!
I agree... he definitely has the "it" factor and is quite polished for one of his first shows. Been going to concerts for 30 years now and you can tell he is going to do well!!
@@Redlinejake ya an not keep telling people to jump an put ur hands up as a dj i hate djs that do that like i came to see you play not listen to you say ok guys jump incase you didnt know to jump
He needs to learn how to perform these songs the right way and learn how to talk with the crowd. That's how opening acts gain fans. Tough thing to do when you play these big 3-8k venues, stakes are high.
Colson Baker (M.G.K.) is the Jesus Christ of Pop-Punk....he brought this incredible genre back from the literal brink of oblivion. And damn, did he ever bring it back! JXDN is just another example of the new wave of this genre....and I'm stoked to see it come back! I miss the warped tour days....And if MGK is the J.C. of pop punk music, I suppose that would make Travis Barker the big man himself...But I don't think many would disagree in calling Travis Barker a God. Anyone else agree?
He’s / Harmonizing / Riffing & Running & Ad Libing / Spot Treating His Performance to Save His Voice & Not Strain. Artists Go All Out / Belt on Studio Tracks. Plus He’s Still Learning & He’s Not a Completely Seasoned / Experienced live Singer Yet. It’s His First Tour
I love his music so much, I think he brings a lot to the new pop punk scene but god, why the fuck does he sings over a track😅sounds like one those rappers that can’t remember their own songs
@@LAVISHING I understand that, but by doing so he doesn’t perform as a singer and he’s more of a hype man. A lot of musicians interact with the crowd and still sing or play their instruments
He doesn’t hit a single note. All playback. This ain’t what music is about. If you can’t do it live don’t do it in the fucking studio. There‘re so many musicians out there that are WAY better and will never get the chance to play a tour like this. This guy is all about reach, marketing and money.
He can definitely sing he just doesn’t know how to sing live yet, there’s a lot of things you need to learn about singing live in order to sound good, for example he moves around ALOT and hasn’t learned the proper breath control so it makes a lot of his singing come out messy, on top of that his songs have a lot of higher notes that he might not be fully confident trying to do live with all the movement which is why he sings in a lower key/octave which also gives for a poor sound, he’s only just started doing these shows so his voice definitely isn’t used to being used so much within short spans of time on top of all the yelling and screaming he also does, after he gets more experience and vocal coaching he’ll be acing the live performances
I love him and the album but he's mostly singing/talking over the original tracks, and sometimes he just lets the original track go on and just dances to it. I wish he'd try to move less in order to be able to control his breath and actually sing more.
Has cool recorded songs.. but a perfect example of someone being created. If he didn't have producers and had to sing live without backing tracks, most the people would be at the bar.
i think he also gets sooo hype when he’s live and doesn’t have a lot of experience with singing live and dancing at the same time. i’ve heard him sing live just sitting down and he sounded great

Tosh already played for MGK when Rook was still injured, definetely a great drummer.
Tosh is the man. He actually was one of my last guests of my podcast! The chewing grounds podcast

He’s good but honestly if he’d stop running and jumping so much he’d be able to sing more/better and wouldn’t be out of breath
its just the vibe

i was at the premiere of his first every song comatose on youtube and to see this kid with his first album (deluxe) on tour with mgk is incredible
Not gonna lie I hope this tour teaches him a lot and by the time I see him in March he sounds better. I love this album but the vocals hear are rough.

I get opening for MGK is huge for him but man, it would've been nice if he could've had a handful of club gigs before this.
yeah he just needs experience, he is a good singer acoustically but isn't confident in his belting which is in many of his songs
