Thank you Jonathan, this talk has been so helpful and timely. I will be reflecting on this subject often and to hear you are going to add to the subject in subsequent talks is exciting.
I listened to all your talks, one back in early November 2023 was so helpful in allowing me to make sense of why I was so calm when my house was flooded following storms here in the UK. This talk helped me gather all my emotions as we finally said goodbye on Monday to the workforce that were involved in the reinstatement of my home.
This talk has also given me some useful insight into the struggle I have between my conditioned self and what I need to do for myself at this stage in my life.

So happy this resonated ... and happy for the equanimity and steadiness you cultivated and served you through this crisis!

My favorite meditation - in nature 💛
I sit on a wood bench trailside after my 3 mile run on the crushed granite trail at my park...
Eyes closed hearing the crunch of footsteps as people walk by, sometimes a breeze, sometimes people in conversation as they pass, the sound of Insects buzzing, the birds fluttering their wings, conversing animatedly.
Then I open my eyes and stare at the clouds flowing by for a half hour or more, realizing many others are missing the silent motion swirling above.
    Simply observing without preferences.

Thank you so much. Already listened twice to your talk. It opened for me a deep path to explore, with wonder. A question: I know people who say they prefer to stay as they are and not know. I interpret what they say as they prefer to not get aware. Thus I cannot wish that all beings awaken, it seems to me. So I wish that all beings are free of suffering. Any thoughts about this?

Interesting .... I think these states of freedom, happiness, peace may be synonyms for the same thing ....

@@jonathanfoust635 the next question is: can it come without some sort of practice ? The persons I am referring to mainly don't want to make an effort anymore. Some are tired, some get afraid of changes. A slippery road to indifference.. Once someone told me that people get into evil actions because they give up after having tried to do differently. I am talking here about people who are not Buddhist practitioners. It seems to me that as people on the path we cannot ignore the many people who are not on the path and lost. But how to help them?

@@lilianestichersiu5642Such a powerful question. One thing I've learned is that I cannot learn anyone's lessons for them. I do believe the more your light shines, the more it touches and can inspire someone ... and for many of us, it's only when we are really touched by suffering that we are ready to change. Heartbreaking, but that is pretty much how we humans operate.
