Ill pay $1000 for college take a class but instructor never ever teach nothing just giving TestOut but this prof everything explain very well and without paying from who learning the system really mess up
My friend, if I tell you my story, I promise you 100% you wouldn't believe it, but essentially, I come from poverty and you built my whole career with your videos, and now I work at a very good job so thank you. I have a family now and everything, I can afford to take care of them because I had the opportunity to learn Sysadmin stuff from you
Hello, Elei yes I started too fast, (ADHD) and this went well until there was no more communication and all my aperates went crazy! now because of you I know what it was! "no LAB" So I'm going to dust things off and try again and follow you even better! definitely a cup of coffee coming! thanks until now!!
im going to subscribe to you. thats the best information i got today. better than an instructor i had in another college. he jusr read off a power point. i learned more reading the book than listening to him.
Eli did not mention this in the video, but you will need to add a static route on your 192.168.1.1 router pointing all IP packets from 192.168.2.0/24 to your 192.168.1.2 lab router.
If you don't know what port forwarding is go to take the class! that was very helpful I guess it takes a genius like you to point that out! Good job man!!
he meant, he himself has a video explaining what that is, which is a 15-20 minute concept - if explained in this video, would deviate us from learning the concept he's trying to teach. It's just that some half-wit dumb as#es with a shorter attention span may not be able to follow if the class deviates into too many concepts and complain in the comments portraying how incompetent and clueless they are to just patiently listen to a video to understand it, despite appreciating the effort he put in, while the same will be taught with not even half the quality of how he does for ridiculously high fee.
Unfortunately, no consumer based routers I know of have definable routing features that I know of. If you have a lot of old hardware lying around check if you have any which are compatible with DD-WRT, at minimum you can define routes from LAN to WAN ports. Alternatively if you have computer parts lying around a good way to get into is is to put together a computer with several NIC's and install linux or even dedicated router distro's. Its a good start to get familiar with it
thanks alot man, the best explanation I do't have a word to thanks you. but why people dislike these videos his try give his kindness with full of energy and knowledge experience power. his the best teacher I wish to have .
Hi Eli the Computer Guy can you make us a video about the design of Virtual Network Computing VNC and the RFB protocol please, you really a life saver :D
I have a dd wrt an old wrt54g. I am currently using it as a wireless bridge across my home since none of my other routers are capable. . I may have to go buy a cheapo piece of equipment that can bridge my network and relocate it. The untangle box can route fine.
I wonder who would give this guy a thumbs down? I would like to see your video. I really don't think anybody can explain networking as well as Eli. Thumbs up from me man. I studied networking Technology in 2005 and am using your videos to remember all this stuff and I am so grateful to have found your channel!
Hey Jason, I HIGHLY recommend you watch Eli's video on Subnetting. EDIT: Sorry Jason was completely talking out of my ass before; basically as long as you have your static routes predefined on your router and, as Eli mentioned in the video, have the communicating ports on the same prefix your networks should be able to communicate. Unfortunately you will not be able to do this with the router you are using.
nice job man. the only thing that could be confusing for beginners is tthat what you explain in the theory on the board, about the ip adresse settings for the lan network, you used different range of ipadresses then actually that you configured on your own network.
Do you have any more tutorials on this because all this Jargon is confusing me. I love your videos though I'm currently a computer network major and I just want to learn a lot more on it because my classes start on this i already took computer hardware and used your videos and passed with an A
I looked for a video but may have overlooked it. Well now I have everything as on the 1st 192.168.1.1/24 followed by the 2nd 192.168.2.1/24 and the 3rd 192.168.3.1/24. Internet is working behind the three routers now.My next goal is to be able to share files between the networks. My setup has changed. My first router is a modem/router through ATT, then my Untangle bow which I want to use for OPENVPN and the third is my linksys wrt 160N its just for kicks.
Eli, I only have one RJ-45 port on my modem that connects to my ISP. How can I setup my Cisco lab separate my from my home network if this is the case?
Thanks! I don't consider myself new to networking at all, more of a hobbyist, but this helped me greatly. Been trying to set this type of Network in my home for awhile now.
Eli, You are simply the BEST!!! now I have a problem, With a fresh install of WS-2012R2, I have all my client computers assigned and working but it takes forever to log in for each client. Once it gets to "WELCOME" it hangs for over 5 min or more before the Desktop opens. What could be the problem. It is with any client computer
I found an old RV-042 in my employers broom-closet/boiler-room/.... "server" room... I brought it home to use as my home lab router. this was the first video I found and was blown away that you were using the same one in your tutorial.... and almost strange that it even had custom labels of the exact same size and placement on the top...
Great video, Eli! Really clarified a few things for me. However, do you have a video on how to connect the routers? This video assumes an ethernet cable connection, but what if you can't run cable between floors? Is there a way to connect the routers wirelessly? That would be awesome!
+Steve Richardson Yes, that would be with bridge mode, or wireless bridge mode. Look it up! Now I don't about setting up different networks with that. I'm guessing once you have a bridge connect another routher to the bridge and then continue on with the setup. But that's my guess.
Hello from Brazil. Eli, im going to have a class to prepare myself to take a MCSA Windows Server 2012 Certification. My question is: Is a good idea to have a Virtual Lab running over Hyper-v? I just watched your video showing how to setup a Lab with VirtualBox, very nice btw. Could you give me a tip how to setup with hyper-v? tks man!
Thank you!
thank you very much. You teach way better than the professors at uni.
This helped me ALOT thanks Eli

My friend, if I tell you my story, I promise you 100% you wouldn't believe it, but essentially, I come from poverty and you built my whole career with your videos, and now I work at a very good job so thank you. What a great freaking video. Even 9 years later.
Thanks so much... You have no idea...
Video looks good on my nexus 10
Keep up the good work Eli the computer guy.... you've got the gift of explaining what you know.
If you don't know what port forwarding is go to take the class! that was very helpful I guess it takes a genius like you to point that out! Good job man!!

Cover all required information to create a lab network. This is very practical and straight to the core; best tutorial video. Thank you very much!
I'm in a coma right now but as soon as I awaken I'll watch again and try to build my own.

thank u so much u r awsome
Hats off Boss. I have recently started learning about Servers and went through your videos, it's made my life so easy.
Same thing. Type in your default gateway IP into web browser and then login to router settings and configure DMZ
Hey Eli! Great clear explanation! Thank you Sir! And you got yourself another fan lol
thanks alot man, the best explanation I do't have a word to thanks you.
but why people dislike these videos his try give his kindness with full of energy and knowledge experience power. his the best teacher I wish to have .
Hi Eli the Computer Guy can you make us a video about the design of Virtual Network Computing VNC and the RFB protocol please, you really a life saver :D
Pretty sure he said " i enjoyed taking this class " at the end lol , but a great video thank you!

Thanks for the clear information👌
This is very helpful, well presented, easy to understand.
Eli ... i love you man

you are really good in what you do. the explanations and teachings are so excellent
great! thx :)
Can you do a networking video how to setup vms? Please explain all the different networking concepts too, like NAT, thank you!
You need to do an up to date playlist for Windows Server 2016 or 2019

480p , hmm video is kind of fuzzy let me raise the res > 1080p, exactly the same, lol. Still a great video and learned a lot as always. Thanks.
I watched this video when I initially started to build a lab. Really helpful.
All i can say is WOW!! Damn good job
Like always great video! But why picture quality so bad?I am watching at 1080p.
nice job man. the only thing that could be confusing for beginners is tthat what you explain in the theory on the board, about the ip adresse settings for the lan network, you used different range of ipadresses then actually that you configured on your own network.
That's cool.
i like the way you explain every details. please do you have tutorials on ccna? if you do please reply me with the link. thanks

Can you do an new video on Homelabs for beginenr cybersecurity?
Awesome tutorials. I hope you continue posting these.
I've seen guys in the office turn a virtual machine on with windows server and dhcp. They wrecked havoc on the network.
thx

Eli, I only have one RJ-45 port on my modem that connects to my ISP. How can I setup my Cisco lab separate my from my home network if this is the case?
Hi Eli, Do you have a video about building your own network on Mac 's?
Thanks! I don't consider myself new to networking at all, more of a hobbyist, but this helped me greatly. Been trying to set this type of Network in my home for awhile now.
Great class Eli! Thanks!
You're awesome!
The best explanation as always!
Thanks Eli, you rock.
