I work with Refugee Services. My role as Case Manager is to oversee and manage cases for disabled, mentally ill, single headed households and any criteria that would make adjustment difficult. During the first administration he issued the Muslim ban and cut the resettlement number from around 13000 to around 1500. Our agency laid off most of our staff, but people desperate to leave their situation of violence, poverty and persecution were left. And you're right, refugees often don't know their birthdates and culture concepts are often misunderstood. To deport them on this premise is devastating and makes me fear for my clients. This is all so sad and I'm scared.
Also important to note, we did not only intern Japanese Americans during ww2. We also took Alaska Native people (mostly Aleuts) from their homes, often burning their villages behind them, and put them concentration camps, in completely different areas of the state from their villages where they didn’t know the local flora/fauna well enough to subsist and had watched all their hunting supplies go up in flames anyways, but provided them inadequate resources because of course they can live off the land. There were literally prison camps for German Nazi POWs in Alaska with much better living conditions than what we forced Natives into. Native POW in Japan were treated even worse, but how we treated Alaska Natives was (and often still is) a huge blight on this country’s legacy. And the number of people I’ve met who have no idea this happened is incredible and depressing.
Im happy I found this thing… it’s nice seeing actual Christian values espoused and lived by Christians… as a Jewish lad this is refreshing to see… keep up the most excellent work
As a 70 year old member of a fantastic ELCA congregation Dinkytown what I've learned is that part of possessing faith in God involves being able to let go and allow God to direct our personal responses to what's happening. My church is a sanctuary church where do all we can to help relieve the suffering of the people who we can help. We support NPOs serving the homeless and we're busy preserving the rights of the LGBT community. Love your show. Enjoy a fulfilling ending to 2024.
12:00 I'm kind of tearing up right now. I wish I had friends like you guys. I don't have anyone that I can talk to about stuff like this and not be called blasphemous or be called dumb for believing in God. I only know two extremes IRL
I'm agnostic/atheist and I think it is fine to believe in God and I think true Christian values like Tim and April talk about are good. We all need to stand together to stop these Christian Nationalists.
The video is great! You guys are brilliant! My dad was a Baptist pastor and I’ve only lately deconstructed and I’m now in my 70’s. You minister to me and encourage me in my journey. You are the only ones out there that I’ve run across doing this work. So glad you are gearing up.
Your channel is a God send. You both speak my thoughts and my language 100%. Every word you have said I have said and thought. Thank you Tim Whitaker and April. I love you both.
Apologetics for humanitarians. I want to do a series so that we can train up the left, left leaning and just kind hearted people on how to basically do what you just did in that video which was amazing. Love it so much.
Thank you for these Friday recaps. I can't stand keeping up with news and things these days so these make me feel like I kind of know what's happening.
Your pods are officially going to be my Bible study! As a man that claims God spoke to him & told him he is Moses, don't you think Moses Mike would be knowledgeable in the Word, especially since Leviticus was written by Moses?
I know Rasmea Odeh's defense attorneys and she and I had many friends in common. She was Palestinian. The confession that led to her conviction was coerced through torture and sexual assault by Israeli forces.
That line (I paraphrase as driving at the time) made me shout out amen. ' It is hard to demonise someone when close enough to see the divine spark in them'
So glad April has also been thinking of how God would communicate the Gospel through Jesus to other intelligent life in the universe. Also more missionary videos please.
OMG I just have to share this. I am driving west to go see my son play in a playoff game for football and Texas. Just got outside of Fort Worth and there’s a huge billboard with Trump‘s picture on it that says born in New York, but Texan at heart.🤪
Good grief! Texan at heart? LMAO!! The dude literally lives in Florida in his gold encrusted resort. Have we ever seen him in a cowboy hat or boots? These people are delusional! 😂😂😂
1:35:07 I have been asking people “are you humane or inhumane?” Rather than being mean about their choices, I’m trying to get them to see the disconnect between what they thought they did and what they actually did.
50:55 Tim muttering under his breath as he searches for an article: “…the end of the world…” feels so apropos. So my husband brought up this point about once they detain immigrants (illegal first, but believe they will go after legal and brown next…) that they would use them as slave labor because we would still need their labor, and I was absolutely shocked and upset. First, that that’s probably what would happen, and second, that my privileged a$$ hadn’t thought about that yet. Also, my state of CA had a chance to get rid of involuntary labor, AKA slavery, in our prison system this election, and we said no. Like collectively, CA decided people in prisons can be used as slaves. WHAT?!!!!!! I voted no to slavery, and thought it was a slam dunk! So shocked with my blue state OKing slavery for ANYONE, regardless of criminal status! Just because you commit a crime does not mean you should be a slave.
I love the video you two made! I think you are champions of truth in faith and that video, while fun, was also a very important part of being a believer…. Holding people accountable for their beliefs in their real life actions. IMO
Thank you April I agree!! Pineapple on pizza tastes delicious! Tim I appreciate how level headed you are about alien life. I do believe there are probably amoeba or microbes on other planets.
So my childhood church actually does teach that there are aliens - that God created other worlds too, not just our, and we are basically the stage where the battle between God and Satan is playing out. They haven't fallen into sin, but they are watching what is happening on our planet and thus understand the gravity of sin and won't ever fall.
That's actually...a pretty interesting theory. But why aren't we able to see and learn from the mistakes of other worlds? Maybe we were the first one God created? But if they can see us, they must be more advanced, right? Oh boy thanks a lot. It's not like I have anything more important to think about.
Btw guys, Fun Fact, Hawaiian Pizza has kind of a weird history. It was only called Hawaiian bcoz of the Pineapple and it being a Tropical Fruit. But... it actually originated in Canada 🇨🇦 by Sam Panopoulos.
Back again to lament your 7-Eleven patronage when you live in the world of Wawas. I recently posted that I was considering doing the 18hr round trip for a Wawa visit. I had a minivan full of people in Portland, Maine ready to hop in with me. I am sure the blueberry coffee is delicious, it just gives me a little pang in the heart every time you mention it. All jokes aside, thank you again for this work. I am a better person for it and finding my way back to God.
I’m with April on the issue of pizza upon which pineapple is placed, usually with Canadian (gasp) bacon. I freely admit that I also live in Kentucky. However, I was introduced to this flavor combination on the west coast, a place known to be more adventurous in cuisine than other regions of our country. Let’s hear it for salty and sweet! As for aliens, the universe is vast. Though I do not give it a lot of thought, I feel that the likelihood of the existence of life elsewhere in this vast and wondrous universe is high.
I’ve always loved blueberry coffee, but from Dunkin’ with midnight roast and it’s an iced coffee… with some French vanilla half and half. It’s amazing! Maybe it’s because I’m a big blueberry fan anyway…
I'm afab and I've lived with and hung out with trans people and I felt much safer with them than I would with any of these anti-trans bullies. Also, gotta love how they're supposedly so set on protecting women from predatory men, but they never worry about trans men being in men's bathrooms where predatory men could harm them. The transphobia/transmisogyny is just so blatant and so gross. Not a fan of this timeline. P.S. Not a fan of the nastiness against immigrants either. Mass deportations? Denaturalization?? I don't know what the answer is to immigration issues, but that ain't it.
I've been eating BBQ, Chicken, Pineapple, Jalapeno pizza almost every Wednesday for close to 20 years now and it is delicious. If it ain't pizza, give it a new name and I'll keep on eating it.
Yeah, April. I agree that he thinks he is treating everyone with dignity and respect, but that is because in extremist circles, treating someone with dignity and respect basically just means not abusing them or overtly dismissing them. As long as the dismissal is covert, they don't see it.
Team April, you guys should do a collaboration with 2 different channels, 1. Cults to consciousness and 2. Honest youth pastor. I loved the missionary video. Long time watching first time commenting. P.s. you guys should also do a collaboration with Brianna wu.
The only thing my Brooklyn-born husband and I (a Chicagoan born and raised) regularly argue about is pizza. He looks down on me for enjoying the occasional deep dish and Chicago's party-cut thin crust, but he likes pineapple on his pizza. Clearly, I'm right.
Team aliens, sorry Tim. Also the discussion of God visiting the aliens and they listened to him so Jesus didn’t have to die on the cross is hilarious ☠️☠️☠️
I'm thrilled that Sarah McBride was elected to the HoR and I really do wish her all the luck and know she's going to do great. However, being from Montana, I can't help but think of Zooey Zephyr and the lengths that Republicans have gone to silence her. I know Sarah will have more allies and I know she's accustomed to resistance and discrimination, but I know that some Republicans are going to see her as sub-human and that makes me sad. Maybe I'll try to send words of encouragement to those representatives who are truly working to better the lives of all Americans.
1:08:11 these people don't care about any children - it's all a show. If they really cared about children they'd expose and convict the predators in their camp. They have a savior complex without any real morals, so everything is just posturing.
"Pineapples on pizza" actually has a name, it's called Hawaiian pizza, it was invented in Canada in a Greek restaurant. Let me enjoy my Hawaiian pizza in peace 😢
The fact that the part of the universe we can see is spatially flat and that we can't detect any repeating patterns or structures are 2 reasons to think it could be.
Find it hard to believe that God would create this huge universe and only create sentient life on one planet. Waiting for life after this one to go and explore other worlds. 😊
Yes aliens are one of the curious things I’m thinking about whenever I’m stuck in church with my family. Thoughts like “what really happened in Roswell?” or “is the Loch Ness monster real or a hoax?”
Thank you for centering trans people among others who are most at risk. It has occurred to me, as a woman of trans experience who was born and raised in America, that I could also be denaturalized and deported
I don’t want to be wrong. I want the worst to be true asap so that we are still relatively stable as a country and can endure it and in 2026 see a blue tsunami and not see Republicans hold power for a very long time. It’s going to get worse before it gets better so let’s get the worst over as quickly as possible.
Regarding the fears about the immigrants from the South, I can see how the violent crime fears are exaggerated, but what about those regarding drugs like fentynol? Thoughts?
Elon Musk. I drove Uber and left in the San Francisco Bay area for five years and specifically in Palo Alto where Tesla is. I talked to the people that I was picking up and I will never buy a Tesla because he hires interns to do a lot of his work for him and then never offers them a full-time job. So they don’t get benefits, and then you don’t have the people around who did the work when stuff goes wrong. So no surprise to me that the cyber truck is falling apart. He believes in cheap labor and now he’s basically the vice president.
34:11 I feel like this administration is going to have a lot of inner tension between the more moderate right than the far right. I think a lot of the next 4 years is going to be on the moderate right to call out the far right people
April asks us how we might have acted in slavery or 1930s Germany - I am a church minister here in UK; 10 years ago I came to Ashville area NC as a 6 week exchange programme with their minister faced with rural Shropshire. I used one of the Bible studies to point to the LGBT rights issues by going back to the slavery era. Trying to draw an analogy between the two based on the 'we grew up being taught x was/wasn't Biblical'. I asked them (all white) to imagine that they had grown up being taught that it was natural and Biblical that blacks are naturally slaves; and the Biblical teaching is not against slavery but about being good slave owners, eg giving them the gospel by being our slaves.... How hard might it feel to think differently? To challenge those presumptions? But what do we in 21st century think on the issue? (and they were rightly horrified to think they would support slavery) So then - What about things we have always been taught about LGBT+ ? With proof texts and vocal theologians explaining why. Can we ask the same questions that anti slavery Bible readers asked even whilst being taught it was at least valid? How will future generations; future Christians; look back on the churches of today?
This is probably the first time in history Congress passed a law for only 1 person.
I work with Refugee Services. My role as Case Manager is to oversee and manage cases for disabled, mentally ill, single headed households and any criteria that would make adjustment difficult. That Missionary to Christian Nationalist video was AMAZING!!! Can you make that a stand alone to share?? Again: PHENOMENAL!!
Agree - it was amazing; best satire is truth telling
Yes. Make it separately🎉🎉
we will!
Im happy I found this thing… it’s nice seeing actual Christian values espoused and lived by Christians… as a Jewish lad this is refreshing to see… keep up the most excellent work
Don't be fooled into believing they are Christians.
They are very superstitious people
Christians are very superstitious people as we all can see

So good to know there are people like you and your church in the world.
You both are authentic real mature Christians who follow the law of Love as Jesus has commanded us to do.
12:00 I'm kind of tearing up right now. I wish I had friends like you guys. I don't have anyone that I can talk to about stuff like this and not be called blasphemous or be called dumb for believing in God. I only know two extremes IRL

April I really love the compassion you bring to the show! Tim I appreciate what you’re doing and how you’re working to further this mission!
The video is great! You guys are brilliant! My dad was a Baptist pastor and I’ve only lately deconstructed and I’m now in my 70’s. You minister to me and encourage me in my journey. You are the only ones out there that I’ve run across doing this work. So glad you are gearing up.
You should be careful not to lose your soul.
You are an amazing inspiration! It is never too late for growth and self improvement:)
Your channel is a God send. You both speak my thoughts and my language 100%. Every word you have said I have said and thought. Thank you Tim Whitaker and April. I love you both.

Team April on both life somewhere out there and pineapple pizza 😂
Pineapple goes on pizza and there is or has been life in the universe lol.
Pineapple on pizza (preferably with black olives) & other life in the universe is most likely
Me too!
Your pods are officially going to be my Bible study! As a man that claims God spoke to him & told him he is Moses, don't you think Moses Mike would be knowledgeable in the Word, especially since Leviticus was written by Moses?
OMG! That video is so amazing! A missionary to Christian nationalists!!!!
You should absolutely publish this missionary video separately, super promotion for TNE!
I know Rasmea Odeh's defense attorneys and she and I had many friends in common. She was Palestinian. The confession that led to her conviction was coerced through torture and sexual assault by Israeli forces.
April's rant on the trans issue today ❤ chefs kiss lady 👏👏 well said
That line (I paraphrase as driving at the time) made me shout out amen. ' It is hard to demonise someone when close enough to see the divine spark in them'
Agreed. It made my day.
So glad April has also been thinking of how God would communicate the Gospel through Jesus to other intelligent life in the universe. Also more missionary videos please.

@@sheilagirl70 I KNOW...thanks for seeing my rant. I had to see it again on my way home that night and thought I might vomit!
Let's be honest with ourselves, the aliens are flying past our planet locking their doors.
I agree. They are like: ‘Avaunt! avaunt!’
Thank you guys, I'll help you out. Boost!
AMAZING to video!!! I can't wait to see more.
1:35:07 I have been asking people “are you humane or inhumane?” Rather than being mean about their choices, I’m trying to get them to see the disconnect between what they thought they did and what they actually did.
As a missionary, That missionary commercial was so great! Loved every second! 😂
"Lot of layers to this one." It's not layers. It's solid lunacy.
My thoughts exactly!
One of the things I LIVE for on this channel >> April's often wry and mischievous smile. That's what I'm reading into it... and it makes me smile too.
50:55 Tim muttering under his breath as he searches for an article: “…the end of the world…” feels so apropos.

I love your skit and let's be honest, this is not satire anymore, it's dead-serious😂.
April, bought the audio version of your book. It was so good! It was funny, informative and interesting. Highly recommend.
still waiting on my pre-order in UK 😔
Currently reading on kindle and loving it!
I also LOVED listening to her book. I listened so fast, I think I need to listen to make sure I soak it all in!!
Thank you April I agree!! Pineapple on pizza tastes delicious!

Interesting.
The Mormon view of the universe allows for other worlds - each led by a different creator/God.
Undocumented workers usually do pay social security.
Btw guys, Fun Fact, Hawaiian Pizza has kind of a weird history. It was only called Hawaiian bcoz of the Pineapple and it being a Tropical Fruit.

😂 I feel called to be a missionary to the Christian Nationalist ❤😂 That was a very inspiring missions video!
The 10-47 window? You guys crack me up!
I love it! Where is the shareable clip of just the missionary commercial? Muat have. Must share.

Mike Johnson's dignity and respect wants to remove people's health care and protection for pre-existing conditions.

Not a fan of pineapple on pizza, but sweet potato crust is A-mazing.
That missionary video was amazing 😂😂😂😂
PLEASE PLEASE make that segment a separate video so it can go viral.
I’ve always loved blueberry coffee, but from Dunkin’ with midnight roast and it’s an iced coffee… with some French vanilla half and half. It’s amazing! Maybe it’s because I’m a big blueberry fan anyway…

Or the fact that “predator men” seem to be the leaders pushing the trans hate. The dirt we are discovering about these people is horrendous!
This video of missions to the nationalists is AMAZING 😂 love it y’all!!
I've been eating BBQ, Chicken, Pineapple, Jalapeno pizza almost every Wednesday for close to 20 years now and it is delicious. If it ain't pizza, give it a new name and I'll keep on eating it.
Treating her with dignity and respect would be to say, "she's a woman." instead of "I'm not going to get into silly arguments."
Yeah, April. I agree that he thinks he is treating everyone with dignity and respect, but that is because in extremist circles, treating someone with dignity and respect basically just means not abusing them or overtly dismissing them. As long as the dismissal is covert, they don't see it.
Team April!!!

Redhead grew up in Ky, living in Tn. Team alien!!
That was brilliant!!! Is that a stand alone video for us to share
1:08:11 these people don't care about any children - it's all a show. If they really cared about children they'd expose and convict the predators in their camp. They have a savior complex without any real morals, so everything is just posturing.
Here, here
I just ordered some Blueberry coffee! Can't wait to try it! Team... aliens could be fun!
I want some blueberry coffee but I don’t have a 7eleven anywhere in my city or state.😢
Team April, Team Aliens!!!!
Were you aware that the price of stocks of private prison companies have skyrocketed since the election?
Not surprised by that. I think most of the investors of this upcoming presidency have had stock increases
I agree Amy! I think there's a big exit coming... let's continue to welcome them here at TNE!
Aliens are demons. Pineapple is good on pizza. And I'm from Jersey. April is right 👍 love you Tim. Love you guys 🙏
I agree with April on the existence of aliens
My old church does a whole month on missions...going on right now. It's callee "Faith Promise."
Ya team April
"Pineapples on pizza" actually has a name, it's called Hawaiian pizza, it was invented in Canada in a Greek restaurant. Let me enjoy my Hawaiian pizza in peace 😢
Just let us have our Italian Greek Canadian Hawaiian pizza made with European wheat and cheese, American tomatoes, and tropical pineapples, Tim :(
Team April but we have no reason to think the universe is spatially infinite.
The fact that the part of the universe we can see is spatially flat and that we can't detect any repeating patterns or structures are 2 reasons to think it could be.
15:19 team April here, pineapple on pizza is yummy and would think it’s cool if we find life in other parts of the universe.
Find it hard to believe that God would create this huge universe and only create sentient life on one planet. Waiting for life after this one to go and explore other worlds. 😊
Yes aliens are one of the curious things I’m thinking about whenever I’m stuck in church with my family. Thoughts like “what really happened in Roswell?” or “is the Loch Ness monster real or a hoax?”
aliens in the ocean? April...you sure this aint a whole repeat of your river otters?
Stitch, how did you wind up in the ocean again? (Looking at my stitch Disney plushie)🤨😂
Thank you for centering trans people among others who are most at risk. It has occurred to me, as a woman of trans experience who was born and raised in America, that I could also be denaturalized and deported
RFK jr is a nightmare!
And sadly still not the worst pick lol
I don’t want to be wrong. I want the worst to be true asap so that we are still relatively stable as a country and can endure it and in 2026 see a blue tsunami and not see Republicans hold power for a very long time. It’s going to get worse before it gets better so let’s get the worst over as quickly as possible.
If you come to Toledo, OH for mission work, you can use my house as a home base. 😂
Just because there is lkely intelligence out there, doesn't mean they'd be able to contact us any better than we could contact them.
April looks so much like Ellie Kemper in the missionary video. ❤
Tim, you are smart. You are hilarious. You are enough.
but I don't like coffee so Blueberry is not going to help!!
LOL - Team Tim on the Aliens! (April for everything else obvs)
Do you guys believe in a rapture? What is your eschatology? I would be interested to hear
Your video is beautiful!
I'm with April. Pineapple pizza is delicious
Team April in regards to life elsewhere but Anti pineapple on pizza. I don’t remember if that makes me Team Tim for pizza.
Regarding the fears about the immigrants from the South, I can see how the violent crime fears are exaggerated, but what about those regarding drugs like fentynol? Thoughts?
Most of that comes into the country either directly by mail from China or on ships. Or it's made locally.
Definitely Team Alien with April!! ❤😅
Scientologist says there is Zenu😂
I think a lot of the next 4 years is going to be on the moderate right to call out the far right people
His picks are a reality TV show
Right?! 😂
Right outta central casting as Trump likes to say.
April if we ever met in person, lets go out for Pineapple on Pizza.
Team April and aliens all the way over here!
Tim: “They’ll cut you right off at the pass” *cuts to commercial* hahahaha! Did that happen for everyone?
April asks us how we might have acted in slavery or 1930s Germany -
I am a church minister here in UK; 10 years ago I came to Ashville area NC as a 6 week exchange programme with their minister faced with rural Shropshire.
I used one of the Bible studies to point to the LGBT rights issues by going back to the slavery era.

How hard might it feel to think differently? To challenge those presumptions?
But what do we in 21st century think on the issue? (and they were rightly horrified to think they would support slavery)
So then -
What about things we have always been taught about LGBT+ ? With proof texts and vocal theologians explaining why. Can we ask the same questions that anti slavery Bible readers asked even whilst being taught it was at least valid?
How will future generations; future Christians; look back on the churches of today?
Are we not men?
We are Devo!
