Folks keep me in 22 bullets and hunting dogs. Just had to stay on farm and be in by dark. I spent summers helping cutting and bale hay from the time I was 10. Blessed for it.
Guys we all the same age and my old man ,God rest his soul was the same way ,whoop ya when you needed it ,hug ya when you deserved it ,take me hunting ,fishing ect.but man was he tough thought me to work hard and earn everything I ever had .
My family owned a dairy farm. By 10 years old we were up doing chores at 4:30am. Then breakfast 7:30am and back to work. Lunch time was a hour long. Back to work. 4:30pm snack time. 5pm back to chores till 8pm. Supper was 8pm. By the time 9pm rolled around we were ready for bed.
I grew up same way in middle georgia was always told you could go to college if you want but im not gonna force it but my dad was a framer and i was always on the job site building houses at the age of 7 until i went into the army
Well I grew up in Mississippi hunting , fishing , and eating beans and cornbread. Got my first job at 14 working cattle and throwing hay. No greater life to live. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Lost my dad when I was 14 but he was a damn good man . worked hard and showed me how to be just like him . i was a concrete finisher for 23 years . not many of the new generation can say they were like ours and those before us.
Blessed to have lived the same way. We are seeing one of the greatest generations leaving us faster each day but the legacy they are leaving behind will always be the foundation built for us all. Much respect 💯
Id like to know how many miles i put on bikes growing up. Had to have a bike or you had to stand on the pegs or sit on the handle bars. Most kids dont even have bikes now a days.
Parents always want better things for their kids. It should include an education more than giving the kids toys, cars, etc that the parents didn't have at their age. It doesn't have to be a college degree instead of knowing how to do or build things. My sister has friends who look down on me for not having a degree but none of them can even change the oil in their vehicles.
Edwin was one of the best home builders in meriwether county that’s a fact. Cody Bullock was the other one. Micheals telling the truth about the early 80s in boogerbottom, that place and the folks was untamed
Terry Wallace Hey guys, raised the same way! Hunted birds and squirrels with my BB gun all day. Played all sports growing up, it was when my mom would come pick up me and my two brothers from the dove field to go play little league football that I new hunting and fishing meant more to me than sports! I am now retired and hunting and fishing and family is my lifestyle!!
Y’all are like most traditional families! We work hard, play hard and say our prayers ! Mom saying y’all better be home on Time for dinner or your getting the belt!!! Seems like this is all lost because of technology, video games and phones!
That is awesome. You find out more about a person just sitting around chewing the fat. Interesting backgrounds. I love it when I hear about how someone got an education to do one thing and their careers somehow took off in another entire direction.
Just down home guys like me.. we are who we are and don’t get above our raising… good conversation guys, brings back lots of childhood memories. Nick, you owe us the rest of the Ms. Anderson ( your teacher) story…
I have watched the three of you for 16 years. I have enjoyed your shows.
Imagine how much better this country would be if half the population grew up like Michael and Nick,God bless us all 🇺🇸🗽
