If Shin-Okubo is what's considered a dangerous place then it's safer than any city in Australia. My family stayed here for 8 nights and it was the safest we've ever felt I can only imagine what is considered a safe place in Tokyo it must be absolute heaven.
Yes, I think what many Japanese consider a "dangerous" area is on a scale that's a bit skewed from the rest of the world...I also feel that shin-okubo is a safe and fun place to be!
There were prostitutes and drug dealers lurking around in the hotel area of Shinokubo. Don't know these days. They may have been forced to walk away for Tokyo Olympic Games.

Amsterdam is safe but it has some places. It all is perspective isn't it? Keep up the great work. I love what you do. Also Japanese people are so stylish and very well dressed.

It is sad that many "old fashion" cascading neon are gradually fade out by LED or even just a plain billboard. The LED screen may present more variety in color and details, but it just lack the eye-catching, surreal effect of neon which delivery a swift bright-and-dark visual bombardment. In 7:10, at the end of the street it used to be a giant Epson sign which was almost "imperial" in terms of visual impact. A month ago I posted on FB my top 5 Japan channels that I follow and yours is one of the 5 =) Actually, your channel moved into my top 5 once I started following. My friends know that I'm obsessed with Japan and how do I plan my own trips. I tell them I use youtube. LOL. I am quite upset at myself now...I stayed 3x in East Shinjuku and not once did I venture the backside towards Shin-Okubo/Koreatown. I think the furthest I went to was the back street of Hotel Gracery/Toho Bldg and that's it. LOL. I was warned to not go to that area as a solo female traveler. But now I think about it...WTH not...I was staying smack right in Kabukicho...it wouldn't have been any different. LOL. Oh well, next time. Now on to your next Shin-Okubo vid you just dropped.

@@VIRTUALJAPAN thanks for your comment, do you grade it for HDR in some software or this footage is right out of the camera? From my understanding things are more complex than they look! Do you have a recording monitor attached to the GH5S then you mastering the fooatge in a software?
