    This dude has skills good job, and for me i can relate never happy with your own work...me as a master fabricator and machinist im also never happy with the details of certain aspects of my own projects but we as a whole are such perfectionist that we loose site of the over all picture its only when it comes full circle when we see the before and after then we pat ourselves on the back....good job dude keep up the good good work, btw id be proud to own it and youve kinda inspired me to refurbish my tama drum kit for im a musician as well, youve given me some good idea's on how to address some of the issues with my birch kit....well done brother god bless...😎🤘🙏🙏🙏

    It's gorgeous! The project is nearly like building a whole guitar but remained the old guitar sound.

    Once I saw that it was a Gibson “Standard”, I agreed it was worth the refurb. Absolutely NO Gibson “Studio” is Worth that amount of effort. Excellent job. I couldn’t do this.....I don’t have enough clamps. Lol

    If you need to fill anything in the future I'd recommend using drywall mud, it doesn't shrink like wood filler does.

    And to think 🤔 I get a little nervous removing a bolt on neck. I’ve never messed with a glued in neck but I’ve seen enough wood panel glue ups where the wood fiber breaks while the glue line holds, to freak me out.

    I used to work at Gibson in the finish repair department. We actually used a heat lamp to bubble up and remove the finish. Just saying

    Man. That was amazing. Don’t think I’ve got the sack to dive into something this labor intensive and nerve racking. Lol. I’d rather go in debt buying a new one. Less stressful 😂
    Oh! Love that burst. Absolutely badass👊🏻

    3:47 now I guess I know that koss's 'stripped' burst started out cherry and not tobacco. I love that washed out lemon top as-is. Would totally spray a clear coat over it and rock that. 👍😂

    For popping a neck on acoustics, I saw a guy rig ball inflator needles for steam. Would that work in a case like this?

    • @billbertolino8946
      @billbertolino8946 5 років тому +2

      Yep! I made a neck steaming rig for $3.76. I used an empty metal 16 oz paint can from Lowes, a rubber grommet, a length of plastic tubing and a needle inflator for basketballs/footballs. I removed the fret above the neck/body joint, and drilled 2 small holes in the fret slot, put my can full of water on the stove and had at it. Worked like a champ!

    An artist and his project. Way beyond good, dude...up there into the realm of wood wizard...watching that fret work was very educational. Thank you for sharing your talent on the tube so this Florida guy could say, 'Wow" beyond awesome!
