I have to admit that for "Tech of the Year" I voted for the Campagnolo Record 12 speed mechanical gruppo because my new Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Movistar edition bike came equipped with it.
Ah Jon and Ollie!!! What have you done! Your making me choose out of some of the brilliant things which have come along in 2018! Nooo!!! he he. Great show as always and good idea about the end of year awards. Definitely find tech of the year a hard category to choose. I think that Ollie's choice was a bit clear for the Trek and also for Continental GP 5000! You got to work on the impressions though! ha ha Love it and keep the good work rolling! By the way who was that suggestion boy?!
#gcntech #OllieDoesScience - we all know the weather we most enjoy riding in (70F/20C, sunny and dry with a light tailwind) but what's scientifically the best conditions to ride in? Pressure, humidity, etc? Put Ollie's science degree back to work!
Hi Jon, I watch the show every week when I forget to switch autoplay off, quick question. If you've got a big flange, there's less distance to the rim, and in this case the poke holes are in pairs. Can you use either hole depending on spoke size or would that cause an issue with rim strain? #askgcntech
The Colnago wins. Just because. And I really enjoyed this, Jon and Ollie, and whoever gets the Super Super Nice is sure to be the envy of the neighborhood. That's better than getting an Orange Krate, really. Or a Raleigh Chopper. But where did this show originate? The background orchestra had me thinking the Copa, the Copacabana, the hottest place north of Havana.
BMCTM01 !! Because they’ve done something no one else has with road bikes by integrating that storage box so cleanly into the frame. I don’t care if the pros almrent allowed to use it. Continental, at the moment, only sells the tubeless variant of 5000s in cases of 10 to shops. My LBS was uninterested in buying a case so I resorted to buying a pair of Schwalbe Pro 1s reluctantly instead.
The Seattle Cyclist I make a living with testing bikes and equipment and I must say there are quite a few better tires than conti 5000, that are massively overpriced with 2years old/outdated technology, that a lot of other brands use on their middle ranged tires
Hi jon. Greeting from Bekasi, Indonesia I just put Tiagra GS to my old bike. it's using 11-34 with long cage RD. Since I'm using it for B2W only, I think 34 is overkill, can I change my sprocket into 12-28 (deore) without changing my long cage RD? Thanks in advance.
Can you talk a bit more about the durability of pedal based power meters please? I plan on buying a new bike in the next year or two and want to narrow down what to look for in my first power meter for outdoor riding and I do not want to be dropping $1000 every three years replacing deformed pedals.
