  • This is the testimony of María P., who has already said goodbye to her glasses and contact lenses. María has undergone myopia surgery with refractive surgery using ICL or phakic intraocular lenses in the Oftalvist clinic in Valencia (C / Ruzafa, 19)
Discover in this interview your experience after going through the operating room and how your visual quality has improved after surgery!
How is the operation of myopia, hyperopia and / or astigmatism with ICL lens?
ICL surgery is an avant-garde technique with excellent and immediate results.
Surgery requires topical anesthesia, that is, by drops.
The surgeon introduces the flexible ICL intraocular lens through a 2.8mm corneal incision. Previously, rigid lenses were introduced, so the incisions were larger, between 6 and 7mm, with the obligation to suture, which sometimes induced astigmatism and, therefore, a worse recovery.
During the procedure hyaluronic acid is injected in order to maintain the anterior chamber to maneuver safely.
Once the ICL is located, with the help of an irrigation-aspiration cannula connected to the phacoemulsifier, we clean the possible remains and the incisions are self-sealing.
