I can’t believe you missed mountain dew?!! Gotta try it. I also love ginger ale and whiskey but usually mix it with lighter coloured whiskey and coke with the dark whiskeys
Literally have gentleman jack sitting on my counter. Just picked it up a few days ago. Although it's delicious by itself with 1 cube of ice, a&w imo is the best mixer for this particular whiskey
The reason you're getting vanilla on the nose from whiskeys is that most of the whiskeys you've been trying get aged in oak barrels, and oak actually contains a flavour compound called vanillin. Also, I'm a big supporter of the "you bought it, so enjoy it however the hell you want" mindset, but I think mixing more expensive whiskeys with pops/sodas is a bit of a waste. You're losing everything that makes that bottle more expensive. I'd just go with regular Jack.
Colin is 100% right. When I do recommend liquor to customers, I always ask if they are mixing, drinking it straight or on the rocks. It makes all the difference from spending a 100 plus bucks (you want that baby on the rocks or straight) or 25 bucks, (you probably should be mixing it with Coca-Cola.) It is the same thing I tell a customer if they are using wine, vodka or masala to cook. Why would you spend a significant amount of money on a spirit or wine when you’re cooking with it? The alcohol burns off and you just want some of the flavor. Hey, Super, maybe cooking with alcohol could be an inspiration for a new video! Didn’t you do that with beer at one time? Cheers!
Vanilla can be simultaneously smoky, sweet, floral, or fruity, but its trademark scent comes from vanillin, a compound that is naturally present in oak timber. By toasting the wood barrels used to mature whisky, the woody support structure, called lignin, breaks down, releasing a number of compounds and forming greater concentrations of vanillin. Small amounts of vanillin also form within the oak inside maturing casks that have developed a little airspace. Vanilla is one of the most identifiable and beloved hallmarks of wood aging. boom.
Haven't watched in a while man, last time I remember you said you could never drink liquor and were strictly brews. Glad to see you dabble a bit here and there homie keep up the grind. Always love from NY
Much love from South Africa brotherman 🙌🏿❤ Here we drink it with coke if not sprite or sparkling apple cider😂😂 Can you do a Smirnoff video i wanna see something 😂😂😂😂😂
next time i have whiskey like JD i gotta try Dr. Pepper with it now. i had Gentleman Jack a few months was a little disappointed but i also didn't drink it with coke or dr. pepper
@@SuperOGArchives yea i agree it is better than reg JD but it was a let down cuz it was not much better. I forget what I drank it with but I"m sure coke or Dr. Pepper would really make it much better. i haven't had dr. pepper in ages but it is a treat although i think it has even more sugar than coke's already crazy high 55g of sugar.
I realized awhile ago orange pop to the extreme completely covers up any alcohol taste. You can literally mix like 3 shots of vodka with orange soda and it's strong as hell but you can barely taste any alcohol at all. In the scenario where you want to get wasted but not taste your alcohol orange pop wins by a whole lot.
@@SuperOGArchives thanks for the reply bro, yeah I been thinking of making change man, the cup too dangerous. Just gotta find a good recipe cause weed is illegal here but lean is legal
IMO mixing Gentleman Jack with soda is a waste of money and there are cheaper whiskeys, like EW where you can get a 1.75L bottle for dirt cheap. That said, Vanilla Coke makes a good mixer with whiskey.
Ginger Ale or Coke are My Whiskey Chasers. Preferably a Ginger Ale and If No Ginger Ale,.. a Coke. Only Way I'll Drink My Whiskey Straight is If I'm taking Shots lol. Also I Prefer Ale 8 or Seagram's Ginger Ale Mixed with My Whiskey. I Hate Schweppes Ginger Ale. It Has a Funny Taste to Me that I don't Like lol. But Hey,.. To Each Their Own.
I watch this guy from time to time. Doesn't disappoint!
"Black Tooth Grin" by the late and great Dime Bag Darrel. Jack Daniel's with a splash of Coke. It's one of my favourites for sure.
Try adding a few splashes of coke to the club soda and whiskey mix! Makes it so much more drinkable.
Going to give that Dr. Pepper and whiskey a try! Suprised it beat coke
Facts. Never thought those would be a good mix
hella good mix!
That's where it's at my guy
Dr pepper and spiced rum is also amazing
@@josephgrady2129 damn really?
bro you need to try mt dew and whiskey. my word, it's perfect. the blue voltage is especially delicious, but original is fine
I can’t believe you missed mountain dew?!! Gotta try it. I also love ginger ale and whiskey but usually mix it with lighter coloured whiskey and coke with the dark whiskeys
I know but too late to go back, i totally forgot about it =/
Mtn dew is more of a vodka mixer than a whiskey mixer. Coke and 7up is perfect for jack

A&w eh? I bet that tastes good 👍
Always loved Gentleman Jack on its own but for mixing with Coke I've always thought black label made a better mixed drink.
Love the review videos man!
Thanks G
I’ve done diet Dr Pepper for a while with whiskey or rum, it’s a great mixer to change it up from coke!

my uncle sure likes sipping on mineral water + whiskey. I have to give Dr. Pepper and Jack a try. Dr. Pepper > Coke. Any day.

Dr.Pepper is way sweeter then cola so it hits different but can't go wrong with a classic
Classic is a solid choice as well
Dr pepper and Jack all day!!!
Whiskey and Ginger ale should be your favorite, it’s a Canadian drink.
It’s still my go to 😂 just that the other ones taste great
Ever try Lambs spiced rum? I remember trying it once in Toronto, only place I've ever seen it
I haven't tried that one yet!
@@SuperOGArchives it actually tasted pretty decent, a Dominican guy in the hostel I stayed in gave me a drink of it one night.
Doctor pepper and rum, orange Fanta and avation gin
Great vid 🍻
Been sippin lean more than drinking recently, thinking of switching to thc syrup, you ever tried it?
