We did a very similar trip in our small, orange Prius C. I loved recognizing half the spots you slept at. :) I can't wait to have a slightly larger vehicle and be able to emulate your setup. Things are pretty nice in the Prius C hatchback but alas, with a platform that transforms into a full length bed, it leaves NO room to sit around and relax.
As always, great video! Thanks for posting. It makes me want to to a similar road trip once again! (By the way, are you aware that South Florida has TONS of free campsites? The best one was on the east coast, 45 minutes away from several main beaches.

This is how I travel in my Transit van.
Last winter I spent 4 months in southern USA - I ended up paying for less than 10% of my overnight sleeping spots, when it simply made sense. ie Oceanside camping - Death Valley - French Quarter etc...👍
This summer on an Alberta - BC trip I did not pay for any overnight camping.
I roll without and specific plan either and simply wing it most of the time when it comes to finding spots to sleep.
I use iOverlander about 25% of the time.
I never overnight in residential streets - I think your rig reads much less as a camper than my white van-:)

We mostly travel in the U.S. so we find Canada challenging to find overnight stops as Canada does not seem to have the same attitude about the many open places on BLM, Forest Service and state forest areas we know in the U.S. Canada info would therefore be greatly appreciated.

Hello Eric! Thank you so much for this amazing video! The morning with the bison was unbelievable!
In the video, you said that you marked the spot in your GPS at 6:36. Which GPS or app do you use to save these locations? I'm visiting Québec and discovering a lot of amazing spots, so I’d love some advice on how to save them somewhere

I always look for east and try to find shade in summer to hide from morning sun. It can be a tree or a building worse case scenario and always away from noisy areas like freeway. Never around school zones if you like your morning sleeps. Some hospital parking's are the best.

What do you think about the Sienna Hybrid? We are looking into possibly getting one since you can run the AC / Heater overnight and it only takes 1 gal of gas to do it

I have no clue about reliability. I do know that doubling the propulsion system do requires more materiel. So, in principle, on the long run, more risk of failures and maintenance. I heard that there is less spaces because of the battery. It seams that more advantages comes with some costs… It is a matter of personal choice. But effectively AC and heating are cool advantages

I am from the south of Europe and I would strongly suggest to avoid sleeping in highway rest/service areas. There are lots of robberies happening in RVs or campers in those areas, having other campers or truckers arround does not seem to scare the robbers. It is usually safer to leave the highway and drive a few kms in the country road until you find a good spot.

Thank you for sharing about south Europe. In Canada and USA, it’s not that bad. There’s some that I would definitely avoid, and others that are pretty safe. In an upcoming video, I will gives insights how I make my decisions to stay or not… ✌️
