    Paul being very respectful
    Showing George Martin the real G minor chord to the song and laughing a bit to almost not correct the school master who had taught him so much. Paul was always so diplomatic because he doesn’t want to disrespect anyone, especially people he loves and admires.

    McCartney is a genius, he knows all the westernized music theory intuitively, and at a really high level, even if he's not able to dictate it exactly in musicological terms, he's a genius, he figured out how to be Mozart his way, his ideas are infectious, I'm a classical musician, I have a BA music degree in classical music from an esteemed higher educational institution, I've studied Shenckerian analysis, and counterpoint, more often than not, McCartney hits it out of the park, both my parents had a doctorate in string pedagogy/music performance, my father is a cellist and my mom was a pianist, they met at the Manhattan School of music, I come from a classical music background, Paul McCartney is a musical genius, bar none, don't believe him when he says that he doesn't read music, the guy knows everything, even if he doesn't read music extremely well, he knows everything, he's just super humble about it, you listen to the late '60s interviews and he understands what an aeolean climax and mellismatic phrases are/were...

      Paul was massively talented for sure but look at the interplay between the two of them. George Martin is and always was the enabler. ‘I’ve had an idea George. Let’s make it into a beautifully produced song’. George Martin truly was the fifth indispensable Beatle.

    I never saw maca play without a pic before. Also, this confirms what I always suspected. The 5th Beatle was very instrumental in helping the fabs write many of their songs. George Martin was in many ways, the most important of all of them.

      @cherbutler85 They would have been a terrific bunch of rockers. But not the progressive group they became with classical/jazz/ period music and George's innovative studio magic. Martin is the man that made them highbrow as maca used to call it. And he was the true definition of an English gentleman.

    • @kenngor8786
      @kenngor8786 2 роки тому +3

      Martin contributed but was lucky to work with the Beatles. The song writer is the genius. There are others that could add the classical assist if it weren’t Martin. Ever hear of the Phil Spector and wall of sound? Are u aware gamble and huff did much of many Motown artists. That is bunk Beatles would not b great without Martin. Other greats- Quincy jones. George duke. Google the stars they worked with. Rod temper ton wrote many of Michael Jackson’s solo hits including thriller , lady in my like. Quincy jones also worked with early Beatles. So explain to me like a 6 year old why Beatles could not have found another classically trained musician. Martin could not have found another McCartney Lennon

    • @rman52
      @rman52 2 роки тому +2

      @Kenn Gor Your all over the place. But yes I heard of Phil Spector and could name every member of his players the wrecking crew. And discuss what rolls they played . So, don't get condescending about my knowledge of rock music. Its quite possible I have forgotten more than you will ever no about music. As far as Spector goes, great players he assembled. The wall of sound was just doubling, trippling, overdubs. Nothing that sophisticated. Same with Quincy. Nothing fancy engineering wise. Martin was much more innovative than both combined. At first, things like adding a string quartet and writing the music for yesterday. That helped create the most played pop song of all time. He did the same with Elanor Rigby. He wrote and played the piano solo for Rita and in my life. Then he played with the tape speed of it to make it sound like a harpsichord. He also played tape loops backwards, like in the song rain. He spliced together two different takes of strawberry fields in different keys to create its magical sound. He also invented track bouncing which made the wall of sound look like child's play. All techniques which were unheard of at the time. So save your sarcasm and stop showing the whole UA-cam community you know nothing about rock engineering, production, or Beatles history. Without Martin, the Beatles would have been just better rolling stones. He was truly the 5th and most important Beatle.

    stop with the silly debates and arguments- much of music is based on chemistry, which can't be created or even defined, only found. Yes, Martin never did anything approaching the beatles greatness when not working with them. and none of them did anything approaching the greatness of what they created with his help. it is what it is. it's not one or the other. No different than Jagger and Richards or Elton and Bernie. Something happens when the right people are together.

    Yeah... Paul died in '66. Anyone who believes this urban legend is on drugs or a fool. It's easy to find a physical likeness. But, one with the same talent, genius and voice? In your dreams

      And play left handed, like Paul? How could anybody believe the greatest songwriter of the 20 century could be replaced? It is beyond absurd!

      You can change a face with plastic surgery if you wanna go that route what you CAN'T change are your fingerprints. Your DNA and bloodtype..the PID thing ...the one thing it did do for the Beatles was make them massively rich by people buying more records looking for clues and playing them backwards..nice marketing ploy...pretend to be dead

    Ufff!! Era más interesante la Armonía que sugirió el genial George Martin. Vanguardista, impresionista. Pero McCartney lo endulza con su armonía tradicional y con un sentido más comercial. Aunque me gusta la música de McCartney después de vídeos como éste me queda la intriga de qué hubiera sido si McCartney hubiese aceptado sugerencias tan geniales. Creo que él pudo aprender más y trascender musicalmente pero se quedó encasillado en hacer baladas.

      A canção Yesterday devia ser atribuída a McCartney/Martin e não Lennon/McCartney. O quarteto de cordas composto por George Martin eleva a canção para um nível. estratosférico. (Desculpa responder em Português)

    If Paul and John were together writing the song there would be a ton of disagreements between both of them
