Your videos for the locks are really useful for me. My dad always forgets to lock the door or bring his keys. It is definitely very helpful for old folks.
If possible, try to refrain from using facial recognition. I previously worked in NEC, which owns the no.1 face recognition technology in the world. FR technology will never be as accurate as fingerprint and iris. It is possible for someone who look somewhat like you to unlock your door. Maybe 1:5000 chance? The more faces you register, the accuracy decreases. The most dangerous part is anyone with a photo of your face can just print it out on a A4 paper, and use it to unlock your door. Might want to use FR as a 2FA, instead of "either or" to unlock doors.
The NEC office at bendemeer? Always a queue after lunch time to enter lol... seeing many airports including changi airport has removed biometric and using facial, same for mobile phones, the gateway to your everything. I believe the tech is starting to shift
As someone dealing with access control system, I agreed that FR as 1FA is not suitable for home use. For faster recognition speed, vendor would increase the false acceptance rate. Another thing to consider is the site condition, strong backlight (especiallt corridor unit) or lowlight condition would creates a lot of issue.
@@AlexTeo Changi do have multiple points of security so the risk of failure is much lower during those points of entry unlike your house door. Just be beware of the risks.
