    This is great! I was really excited when I saw this video posted, so it was really funny when Robyn doubted that anyone would like to watch it :D My guess is that she has some interest or hobby that she has a lot of different, yet similar things attached to it - and would never think that one is as good as the other :) Thanks for a great video as always!

    I’m very fond of Faber Castell myself. Their Apollo series are very comfortable and the consistency of leads from them is so reliable. They tick the boxes for all their other tools, from clutch pencils to sharpeners, but the one thing I’m unaware of is if they have a metal bodied mechanical pencil.
    The build of the others, like you said, will do you fine for years, but the plastic frame can more easily become worn than metal. Also helps if you prefer a weightier pencil. It’s why I tend to switch between FB and the Pentel Graphgear, but a majority of my stuff I do with FB. Cannot beat the quality for the price.
    A legend in the industry is the Blackwing, but they’re quite the investment. I’ve yet to test if they live up to reputation.

    The equivalent of Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown!! Nice!

    I want to say that, for people in the US, you may not be able to find a Raphael 8404 due to a ban on sable hair. *However* they do have a series of synthetic sable brushes that I hear is at least as good as the actual thing (and cheaper!)

      Both my pencil and my brush are euro models. Thank goodness for the internet. You can simply order them from a British art supply shop.

    I have that same Frank Cho pen in my pen holder on my desk. Met him like 10 years ago at a local con. Love it!

    So very, very jealous of those Blackwing sharpeners and the Frank Cho pen!

    I used the metal pen holder for a while, and it was nice and all... And the caked up ink would crack off when changing nibs (I'm a 100/103 guy), but after a while the claw parts just corroded away and broke off. I have a tendency to dip my pens & holders to far into the ink and then rinse them a lot.
    Welp, back to the plastic holders! 😄

    Terry, where did you get your case? Or, rather, what is it called?

    Great video. As much as you love Faber-Castell, I was surprised not to see any of their PITT artist pens among your supplies. Are Microns better?

    • @TerryMooreArt
      @TerryMooreArt  10 місяців тому

      The Pitt's are very very good... and I had them in the full video before editing... but I find the microns make the most precise lines with no bleed or fraying.

    Where do you get the Raphaels? I switched to the Raphaels in the 80s. They gave a sharper line than the Windsor Newtons. Then, I couldn't find them! Still can't. A dealer on Amazon is estimating a December delivery! Back to the Series 7. It'll be fine.

      If you see double don't say I didn't warn you! lol I have to buy some of my things when in Paris, or order from art supplies shops in London or Germany.

    They sell the executive green FC pencils on Amazon. Are those different that you have?

    • @TerryMooreArt
      @TerryMooreArt  8 місяців тому

      I see one store on Amazon offering “3 left”. And that store is in Istanbul. They say they ship to the US but it’s a good example of how rare these are in the US.

      @@TerryMooreArt Thank you very much for your response. I wanted to buy the same one that you showed in the video but one review on Amazon from Distinto modelo says that it is not the same quality as before - the one on Amazon has a matte grip section vs glossy as the one you have of higher quality. Could it be that vintage models are better than newer models?

    • @TerryMooreArt
      @TerryMooreArt  8 місяців тому

      @@paul777jj i seem to remember my vintage one was glossy when new. But my backup pencil which I’ve been using over 5 yrs now was matte finish when new and is now worn into glossy from using it. It’s still the same pencil ✏️ in terms of weight, feel and great features, and it’s so affordable! I would still endorse the new ones. You just can’t find them in the US tho.!!

      @@TerryMooreArt Again, thank you kindly for your response. One more question, please: why do you like it more than FC Vario?

    • @TerryMooreArt
      @TerryMooreArt  8 місяців тому

      @@paul777jj bc the vario has the metal grip which is heavier to twirl around, I erase A LOT!!, and it’s slippery in my hands. The executive weighs nothing and it doesn’t slip in your fingers. The point retracts and the eraser is long enough to last a whole day of sketching. It is PERFvvECT. Everything else is ca-ca!

    I don't see the rainbow color pens I gave you in Virginia in your collection! For shame sir... that should have significant value to you-- far more than that of a bottomless girl! I mean who is this Frank Cho character hmmm?! PS--you're an art supply hoarder. Admit it.
