    Darci I hope you don't mind me picking your brain one more time. Are the isomalt shards and swirls effects once you place them in the buttercream? Do they melt or bleed? I am going to attempt isomalt snowflakes poured into a silicone pad and I want to place them on the sides of the cake. TIA

      Not at all. That is a good question. I would prepare the snowflakes and place them on the side as short of time as you can to the party. They held up pretty good but I wouldn't want to take a chance and place them on the night before. Especially if you are going to stick them in a refrigerator. Save some frosting to use as "glue" to hold the pieces in place on the side. They didn't bleed that I noticed but if moisture gets on the isomalt it may melt a little.

    darci how do you store it after putting onto your cake?

    • @DarciDecorates
      @DarciDecorates  7 років тому +2

      Great question. You store the pieces until you are ready to set your cake out for display. The isomalt pieces need to be stored in an airtight container. What you want to do is keep the moisture out. Humidity will ruin the pieces. Keep in a dry location. After you put it on your cake do not put the cake in the refrigerator. -- Happy Decorating!

    hi what is isomalt

    • @DarciDecorates
      @DarciDecorates  7 років тому +1

      Hi. Isomalt is a sugar substitute made from real sugar beets. It is edible but I wouldn't want to eat a lot of it. It doesn't caramelize when heat is applied making it great for sugar art! Here is more information on the brand I used CakePlay www.cakeplay.com/pages/faq #HappyDecorating
