  • REPAIRING THIN LOCS {KIESHA ARIELLE}
    What's good guys?! In today's video I will be sharing with you how I go about repairing my thinning locs. Now, as you may already be aware I have experienced the trauma of postpartum hair loss but was able to grow back some hair after a few hair growth challenges.
    With that said, I am now able to try and repair my locs which were affected by this ordeal. In this tutorial, I will be showing you how I use the crochet method to repair my thin locs.
    Now, if you would like to try this method of repairing your own locs but you are without any crochet needles, I have a link below for you to purchase your very own 10pcs set as well as another link to grab you a crochet latch hook as well:
    10PCS CROCHET NEEDLE SET: ebay.to/2KuJis3
    CROCHET LATCH HOOK NEEDLE: ebay.to/2tHZigA
    I hope you found today's video very useful and until next week Sunday at 5pm we will be back in the Kitchen. Also, be sure to subscribe like and comment :)

    THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH. You have no idea how many videos I have watched, trying to figure out how to use the crochet needles. Finally, your video gives me clarity that I'm not just blindly stabbing the locs but pulling the hair into the locs

      I was in the same boat! Perfect presentation. The other videos didn’t even show the detail of how far the needle goes in or even if it goes through to the other side. Loved that she also went inside to strengthen the loc. great video and to the point !!!

    I've considered getting a double needle one but decided to scour the internet for lessons and this being about the fifth video, I must say it is the most relatable and clear!
    Also, I didn't know there were so many options on the needles!
    Thank you for this. Really good!!💯

    • @kieshaarielle
      @kieshaarielle  3 роки тому +1

      To crochet? Not necessarily...although it is very simple to do, most people would be confused as in not being sure if they are doing it correct. Cause at first when I did this I was very unsure of what I was doing, until I realise it's just about rolling the hair and moving the needle back and forth in directions until the hair intertwine with each other

    I have sister locs its a smaller loc then that . I need to find that sister locs tool and my location is not trying to help me she wants me to continue to come to her and spend money. . It's different with sister locs it's an brand and the two women who invented it have a company . There out of LA they teach it at special school which I attended many years ago but I had graduate and was planning on continuing on with what I had learn so I could do it for a career but got pregnant and after my son was born 6 day afterwards I had a brain aneurysm and stroke and for got how to do the locs but with training again I know I could atleast do my own hair I use to do tie zillions on myself and other back in the day . I know I could still do those but sister locs are different can't mess it up and call them sister locs you can get sued . If you did. Like I said it's somebody's brand . I guess my question is do you know if someone with sister locs who would be willing to show how to do them on utube. Mine are very small and really long they have really grown my hair down my back . I'm getting them retighen every 6 weeks. . Just was wondering.

    • @kieshaarielle
      @kieshaarielle  3 роки тому

      Sorry you had experienced that and I do understand that if someone claims something as sister locs when it's not...that wouldn't be a good look. But, to answer your question unfortunately I don't know anyone who does it. I love sister locs and I think my next set of locs will be sister locs 😊

    Will the interlock part thicken up or stay that narrow

    • @kieshaarielle
      @kieshaarielle  Рік тому +1

      Remember thickness is determined by your hair density. However, overtime as the lock gets longer, the roots will get compact (locked) and assume the usual thickness your hair already possess

    I have a dreadlock that I’ve had for three years it’s thinning in the middle I went to a loctician she said it’s okay but I know it’s gonna break if I don’t do anything that’s what the very last part did but I don’t have any new growth to put back in the loc can I use hair from the hair store???!

    • @kieshaarielle
      @kieshaarielle  4 роки тому +6

      Yes you can, but you can consider this option: cut the part that's thinning, and unravel a small part of the loc at the point where you had cut it (on the piece that is cut and the loc still attached to your head); then crochet them back like you see me done in this video

      @kieshaarielle  4 роки тому +4

      That's an interesting question.
      When it comes to retightening the roots: I would say one major benefit of interlocking is that it keeps the the roots neater for a longer time 😊

    Did you crochet on wet or dry hair?

      Thanks so much. I’m going to try this tonight. I am recovering from postpartum hair loss so I have a bunch of loose hair around my edges.

      Kiesha Arielle I will check that out 😊. One more question did you crochet on clean dry hair? I’m trying to decide if I should do this before or after I wash my hair.

      Yes, I did but to be honest you don't have to do it in freshly washed/clean hair. I think my hair was probably was like a week old from my wash day 😊

    The smaller the better ?

    • @kieshaarielle
      @kieshaarielle  4 роки тому

      Not necessarily, it depends on the size of your locs. The smaller ones sometimes aren't able to grip the hair, thus sliding by

    • @jaykapri__
      @jaykapri__ 4 роки тому +1

      Kiesha Arielle so if I have smaller locs I should use a 0.5 or 0.75

    • @kieshaarielle
      @kieshaarielle  4 роки тому

      In essence yes, because the bigger ones may leave holes in your locs
