This was the last version of the “snatchers” films that I didn’t own. I’m thinking of having a movie marathon with all of them
Have always been a fan of the 70s version, but you are correct about the original. A shame they lost the original negative. Probably sitting in some former producers garage lol.
I never owned the older Olive release either so this one is on my wishlist. Plus i love Don Segel!
I'm probably in the minority with the 1993 version being my favorite. I was 12 when it came out, so I just have that nostalgic love for it I guess. I do love the one from the '70s though. But this one I think I've only seen one or two times on TV.
Since this does not have ALL of the bonus features and the original camera negative isn't added to the film, i will keep my ''SIGNATURE COLLECTION'' Blu-ray release.
Venagar will probably find it someday in a rusty shed
I, too, found very little difference between the 4K and BluRay.
Id like the 90s invasion of body snatchers that was the most creepy
Which one is that? The only two I can find is the 56 and 79 ones.
Partial to the older versions.
Hi Adam. I haven't seen this one. I have the one from the 1970s. Will you be dropping the Farewell My Concubine review today?
No, I need the weekend off. I’ll post that one on Tuesday.
Keeping the blu ray!
Thanks for the review, I’m sticking with my olive films Blu-ray
Hm, I was hoping to hear your thoughts of this 4K compared to the Olive Blu Ray (since I have that one) but that's understandable if you don't own the Olive. Looking at some screenshots comparing this 4K to the Olive Blu Ray, This 4K doesn't really look sharper than the Olive and unusually enough in a number of instances I actually liked the detail better on the Olive (though of course screenshots should be taken with a grain of salt), and if you say that the HDR doesn't really bring much benefit, I don't think I'm going to bother keeping the 4K. I ordered it and kept it sealed, so I'm going to return it and just stick with the Olive Blu Ray.
i'm curious also about the comparisons to the Olive blu -- which I owned but then sold on ebay and now I'm thinking that might have been a poor decision cause I had high hopes for the 4K.
@@CoinOpTV caps-a-holic has screenshots you can compare, though again of course they're not going to be a 100% accurate representation (but still helpful)
Read a review that the 4K from Kino is only marginally improved over the blu from Olive, owing to the fact that the original negative is missing, making a proper restoration impossible. They feel the 1:85 inclusion could be the only selling point overall if you already have the Olive presentation. I didn’t have that, so this buy was a no brainer for me.
@@NmDPlm31 yeah guess i’ll pickup the KL version since I sold my Olive blu- oh well poor decisions made over my life as a movie collector 😂
How do you just lose the films negative? 🙄 lol
