It hurt me so bad on my journey, realizing that my mom was NOT the type of woman that I wanted to become.😢
Moms can only give or be what they have. I'm not sure it should create feelings of sadness. Each generation should push the vision higher. Create your vision and live it out.

I send you the energy of love, peace and happiness... Be strong for your mom by being the example you wish she could have been. This information unfortunately doesn't travel fast. It's up to us who know to share the power.
I’m 30 and I had to do a lot of unlearning. My mother did not come from a family where women were feminine. They never let her wear earrings or make up. She had no beauty rituals. All she did was work and took care of her kids. She tried to instill that same stuff in me but it just never sit right with me. I was never taught to be feminine. All she told me was go to college to get a job and take care of yourself. That’s the only life advice she gave me. That put me in a tough spot when it comes to men, dating and how I view myself. Even till this day she shuns me for not wanting to be a warehouse worker and wanting to be feminine and wearing make up and stuff like that. She says it’s unnecessary but really it’s not. April and Sabrina are a few of my mentors because she is something similar to what I dreamed of becoming. I want better for myself and I want to be beautiful and I’m trying to let go of that version that my mom try to make me become. That’s not who I am

I was on my way to Italy and looking for something to read. I came across a April's book on Amazon. I'm also from Richmond, CA. 51years old. I went to Richmond high school. 5'4 on a good day. Im on my innerwork journey. Love the book. I'm giving it to my two daughters to read. Nice to get to know you. Keep up the positive work!
Wow! I'm from the bay too, living in San Pablo. I enjoyed the video on a surface level. She never really explained HOW she came up out. I understand changing one's mind set, but then what? I have to say that this is not real life for the average person.You are teaching your grandchildren the wrong values.Teaching your grandchild or grandchildren this is normal that’s not being realistic.This can come back to haunt you .Because what if you lose all your money and you can’t recover from it and you turned your back on your family and when you need help they will not be there for you .Money and material things should be put in it’s proper place.Because if you become sick and you have an incurable disease no amount of money can save your life .I don’t envy her success but I worry that you must be balanced in how you live your life
Having financial wealth allows you to pay for the best care if you do get a disease. If it’s incurable, at least you will die in comfort and not leave a bunch of debt for your family to inherit. You can teach your children and grandchildren the importance of financial stability AND to have moral values. It isn’t this or that, it’s this AND that. Trust me, my grandkids are absolutely fine. We just don’t raise them to have a broken, struggling, and lack mentality. Much success to you and yours.
Ms.Mason I don’t agree with you on your position money has its purpose spoiling your grandchildren is not the way to go .No matter how much money you acquire you must live in the real world .Just because you can afford a certain lifestyle one day you can lose everything that you worked for many people have had this happen to them and they had to learn a hard life lesson .Money can come to you one day if you are fortunate enough to have worked hard for it or people have inherited money.But you must be realistic about it .Your money can be stolen from you or you can have a business deal that goes wrong and you lose everything.There is nothing wrong with having money but you have to treat money in a certain mindset because if you get caught up in living a certain way and you lose your money how do you adjust to living in lower standard of living .It will be a very difficult situation so live a balance life style because nothing in the times that we are living in is promised. I am very happy that you overcame your circumstances.But don’t turn your back on your family because you might need them someday you never know.
Thank you for your comment. Please go back and read Ms. Mason's book. The last thing I think she is saying is what you are implying. I am sure April Mason like me and others have experienced set backs in life and we will continue to have up's and down's in life. Let's hope that when challenges come we have enough knowledge stored up in our subconscious mind so that we know how to re-group and recover. I am proud of April Mason and I speak from experience. She never said she wishes any one bad but she wishes the best for herself and others. When challenges come, I think she as well as I know where to turn and that's God All Mighty, the ONE who gives all good to us in the first place and brings us through hard times when we believe...

But I still stand by what I said .We just experienced a natural disaster in the state of Florida .I’m sure that there are many people there who have money and there lives are turned upside down because of this .Those who are extremely wealthy it may or may not affect their lives or income .But a loss is devastating to anyone who has money or not .Don’t put all of your security in money because it can be here today and all gone tomorrow. I don’t have any ill will towards either one of you or Ms.Mason I am just saying don’t get caught up in living a certain lifestyle because you can lose money when you least expect it .People get caught up in living an upscale lifestyle and when their finances change and they can no longer afford the lifestyle that they become accustomed to they lose their so called friends and they have to learn a very hard lesson in life because they can no longer afford the lifestyle that they become accustomed to .So live a balanced life teach your children and grandchildren to appreciate what they have and don’t take it for granted in anyway and have empathy for people who don’t have what you have . I don’t envy anyone who does very well for themselves but just don’t treat your lifestyle like it’s a everyday thing because real people don’t live like this.And I am talking about people who work two and three jobs just to have the very basics of life .
