Thanks for the update Tanya. I'm looking to come back. I used the Ukraine trains app last year as you mention on your video, but it won't even let me access it from the UK now so I'm searching for alternatives on the internet. Just a warning for you other guys, like Tanya said, I got the bus back from Kyiv to Warsaw and was stuck at the border for 10.75 hours. Took me 41 hours to get back home to the UK but was worth every minute of it. I loved Kyiv and also seeing Ukraine from the bus. It can obviously be risky, but if you get the chance, go, you will never forget it. I'm the one that stayed by the Opera House 😃 Stay safe Tanya xxx
I have been to Ukraine a few times during the war and had the same issue with tickets. I found a Polish company called Polrail that was able to buy all tickets from Poland to Lviv or Kyiv. I never had any issues, except when I forgot to book my return ticket one time.
Tanya I took bus from Lviv to Warsaw, wasn’t to bad, only took 2 hours at border. I booked my own train ticket from Ternopil to Lviv, was very easy using app. Дякую Tanya
Thanks so much 😊 for informative video, very useful information and now inspired to visit soon to see beautiful Kyiv and support the economy despite no planes this video convinced it’s worth the time. Also like your very cool hat 😌
I was in Lviv, in November. I took the bus from Warsaw and then back, again. One thing that might help others when crossing the border between Ukraine and Poland is to be aware that the toilets at the border require payment to enter them; be sure to have some Polish coins if you want to access the toilets.
Your information is so well presented, it makes me want to visit soon. Unfortunately it's not cheap to get from Canada to Poland. So we will probably wait until there is no war and then visit for a longer period.
The toilets on the Buses are often never emptied and are sometimes overflowing😮 as drivers dont take buses out of service to empty the sceptic tank at the service depot. They just change driver and go to petrol station and refuel.
Your video and information is so helpful thank you , I love you eyes ❤️ and you are so pretty ❣️❣️ thank you for all the information ❣️ take care of yourself please 🙏🙏🙏
Useful information for the possibilities of travel to Ukraine. Hopefully when the war ends I will think of visiting the home country of my Father. Best wishes Tanya.
I took the Flixbus from Krakow to Lviv in June 2023. We had to wait at the border for about four hours before we could cross. There were portable toilets near the border crossing that we could use while we waited (but they were very dirty). When I crossed the border again to go back to Poland at the end of my trip to Ukraine, there was almost no wait, but I think I got lucky that time. Also, I got in trouble while I was waiting at the border to cross into Ukraine. I took pictures of the border guard stations (which I didn't know was forbidden), and a Polish border guard came and took my passport from me. He then made me follow him to talk to his supervisor. After they looked at my passport and questioned me a bit, they let me go. It was a scary experience. Please, don't take pictures at the border!
Tanya, very informative, many thanks. But until a cease fire or peace treaty, visiting Ukraine right now is risky, I heard of tourists being injured or killed.
Hello, been a follower long time on your channel. Anna on another Chanel, has tee shirts, that sure looks like your opening. I think artists should have say where their art goes. ❤ thanks.
I will review this video before i return to Ukraine probably in May 2025. It was a challenge buying train tickets in Ukraine. I had no idea how difficult it would be. I have been studying the language now for 13 months, with four more months before I return to study Ukrainian for 6 weeks in Lviv. My advice for sure is as Tanya mentioned find out when the tickets go on sale and buy them 20 days in advance. Also, it was rumored that if you are calling with a Ukrainian phone number they are prioritized over foreign phone numbers. Also, I brought two credit cards from Capitol One bank and one from Citi bank. I called Capitol one twice wanting to give them my travel plans but they would not even listen to my plans. I could not use the Capitol One cards in Ukraine as Capitol One blocks their use in Ukraine. So be sure to call your credit card issuers and confirm they are okay for use in Ukraine. Also Citi bank likes to verify many uses and that was also an issue making it impossible to buy an international train ticket to leave the country. But I had a French Canadian who could use his credit card and I was able to buy a ticket to this border with his card and gave him USD. Enjoy the travels.
A great video Tanya on how to travel to Kiev from Warsaw Poland. The information was so good and informative . Thanks for the travel tips. Tanya - Does Misha get to travel with you at NO EXTRA COST??? Hope this brings a smile to your face about Misha. Slava Ukraine.😘💙💛💚💛❤
@14:26 No, I'm not getting a sleeper with other people. They fart, they snore, they toss and turn all night, If I had to I'll just buy all 4 bunks or pick a time that nobody goes. I did that in Shanghai to H.K. Not doing that again.😂
Tanya, you looked great today! Thanks for all the travel info. I'm planning to fly to Warsaw and then to Lviv, then by train to Kyiv. Are there tourism offices that can assist with ticket purchases? You should just open your own tourism office.
Hello Tanya 😊 great seeing you again. Interesting subject. Travelling by ICE car seems interesting. EV might be more complicated. Using the bus is not my cuppa tea. I think the train would be my favoured way. I remember your video a few months ago when you travelled in the top bunk of the sleeper. Next time I travel to Ukraine, I'll fly to Warsaw and then take the train to Kyiv and then onward. I don't think that Olga will travel with me 😞. Thanks Tanya, stay safe and happy and keep smiling. With love and best wishes to you and your loved ones. Allan x. Slava Ukraini ✌️🇺🇦🫶🇪🇺 OTAN 🕊️.
Tanya, Is Old Town down by the river still a nice and rustic place? I stayed on a barge hotel across from the Arizona back 20 years ago and liked that area.
This was so much better than having to talk about the war. This happiness was reflected in your facial expressions, and I have to say I like your hat and coat. It looks much better than any typical knitted winter hat and looks comfortable.
Wow Tanya! How timely this video on travel to Ukraine! Thank you! I decided that because the flight from Miami to Bucharest cuts off about half the time it takes by train or bus going the time by road from Warsaw to Kiev, and because Bucharest is closer to Odesa, I would take a plane (Turkish Airways) via Istanbul; I hope I have not made a mistake for unknown reasons! Now I have to decide between taking a bus from Bucharest to Odesa, which is about 12 hours, or maybe renting a car and driving for about 7 hours, but I'm wondering if what you said about long waits at border crossings will apply here where it's necessary to take part of the road through Moldova? Am I any more or less likely to have to wait a long time at the borders from Romania to Moldova and then from Moldova into Ukraine/Odesa? Ugh! I had no idea of this till seeing your video just now. perhaps, unfortunately, there does not appear to be the option for taking a train. I also need to get a hotel for one night in Bucharest after the plane arrives about 8:30 pm; then take a bus (i guess) even though longer than by driving a rental car; then I have to find a hotel in Odesa.I was surprised at not only how low the prices of the hotels are in Odesa, but how very attractive they mostly are--some very elegant and nice! Given this developing itinerary, do you have any suggestions or "caveats", or things I should consider? As I already have the plane ticket to Bucharest, it may be costly and difficult to change it, but, maybe still involving less time traveling by car or bus? Thank you! If I could make it to Kiev, it would be nice to meet you. Take care. Doug
Tanya, I am coming to Ukraine in April. I am a US citizen. As I described below, I have traveled by train many times within Ukraine. I know about the 20 day advance ticket rule. Will I have a problem buying an advance ticket from Kyiv to Kremenchuk because I am not a Ukrainian resident?
I'm planning to travel to Ukraine next summer but I worry I will overlook some requirements. Unlike previous travel abroad, I don't know anyone at all in Ukraine.
Let me know if you it’s possible to pick up a car rental in Warsaw and travel to Kiev. Obviously it would also have to have the fullest of coverage. Also any hotels on the way from Warsaw to Kiev during wartime opened. Thanks ❤
Prior to 2022 I could take the train from Krakow to Lviv. At the border, I just waited on the pkp train for passport control and customs search while wheels adjusted on train. Same on return. No getting off to wait in a line. I would buy my ticket in Poland. How has that changed?
Hi, Tanya! Thank you for sharing, this was informative. Do you know of any humanitarian/mission trips opportunities that I as an American go on? I go to a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the US and I am praying that one day, I can go to Ukraine to help those who need it. But, I hope you remain safe, well, and healthy. God bless and keep you! With love, Natalie! :)
Help you get there by train. Private cabin if you have it. Obviously I will help everyone. And please put with your friends somewhere. Obviously I will properly compensate for my awkwardness. Would like to see my mom’s country within a year. Thank you beautiful ❤
I will wait to go back. I have been sending my Ukrainian friends funds once a month to survive. They tell me it will be a couple of years after the war before things return to normal.
@3:59 "I don't want to take the bus anymore." 😂 I agree taking a bus sucks unless it's one of those lay flat seats that's private type of buses. Yeah, naar, never take the bus. You gotta be some masochist to want to take the bus. 🚌 8 hours on a bus. 😮😢 Nooo! Nooo! Nooo! 😖😣
Thank you so much Tanya, PLEASE, as always ............Please take care and stay safe.
Most humorous chick on The Block.
You are a great travel guide. Showing us how to navigate traveling by the apps is so informative 😊
Very timely as I’m booking my February trip today! Going from plane to Chisinau to train in Godilsk then to Dnipro for business. Whew!
Say Hello to the Russian soldiers who will probably be in Dniper by then. 😂
You always Rock it.....
Thanks for the video! ;-)
