"I had a decent run" he says. These guys are nuts, and these two really picked up the pace after Friday. Always a pleasure to watch masters at work. Hope everyone enjoys this season!
This, in my opinion, was Neuville's beat rally. He was in a flow state, just like Loeb. Everything is going just right and a good feeling with the car.
As someone from Canada, I don’t even get how people drive on these roads on a normal day. Here, if we have a paved road, it’s double wide, with big shoulders. And a dividing line down the middle. These roads are so narrow, I don’t get how normal people use them, never mind how these guys drive them at such insane speeds. That said, someone from the rally world needs to come investigate the Okanagan Valley in BC. Tons of incredible roads, both paved and gravel. Would make for a great rally location (doubtful we have the fan base though, unfortunately). Thanks for posting videos like this, incredible to watch.
I put myself in the driver's seat, then proceeded to crash 193 times. This has to be arguably the most complex performance driving ever, for one has to read every meter of asphalt surface, analyzing adherence, besides every other aspect of driving. So impressive!
I turned off the lights in my living room and I watched this video on my Bravia tv big screen: so close to have hearth attack! Thanx a lot to Thierry the bullet Neuville and to the video maker! 12:50 di pura adrenalina
It’s no wonder they get punctures the way they cut the corners from tarmac to off road and back to sharp edged tarmac at speed. I watched as a biker and was leaning my chair left and right causing motion sickness!!!!! Great video.
I am speaking for myself, but I really miss the 2010 - 2018 onboard camera units! The engine and the co driver used to sound clearer sound than this ones nowadays...
ya know, with the new WRC game being out and using real stages, it would be real nice if you could put up some onboards of those stages....... great driving by Thierry :)

This looks like the worst type of condition to rally to (atleast for me). You want to go faster every corner but the icy roads won’t let you. One small mistake and you’re off the road.
He drives very clinically, but without the cameras stabilization and the video being high framerate those bumps are nausiating to watch. The video induces motionsickness. That's pretty wild
Apologies for not knowing but I’ve been away from WRC for a year or two. What in the world is going on with the seating? Why is Wydaeghe in the back seat? What is the reasoning behind it? Thanks for answers.
Sorry. It was a joke. The PiP. The camera angle and type of lens used make it look like he is sitting sideways in the backseat. I’ll go home now. @@Pointlessusername-zr3jy

Is "septante" and "huitante" for 70 and 80 really used in French or Belgian French or did they shorten it just for rally pace notes? Because I think my French teacher back in school would have hit me with a stick for saying that lmao
Yes, "septante" (70) and "nonante" (90) are used in Belgium. We don't say "huitante" (80). We do like in France "quatre-vingt" (4*20). It's in the french speaking Switzerland that they say huitante for 80.

The pacenote are really so accurate, it's amazing. I thik it's one of the keys of Neuville's talent.
Being able to make very precise pace notes and driving perfectly to them is a really underappreciated part of rallying.
