The clutch sticks on my Morris 1300 engine after being sat for a couple of months. The last time it happened, I started it in gear and drove it up and down the road a few times with my foot still on the clutch pedal, but it still wouldnt budge until I pulled up the handbrake as well to put a bit of extra load on it. I would rather it just didnt happen, so what is the cure, it already had a new clutch plate 2000 miles ago.
Thanks for video. Is it hard to put into gear when clutch plate is stuck to flywheel? I recently put in new clutch, had wait few weeks for tailshaft part, everything put back now and i cant put into gear with engine running. I checked the clutch slave cylinder. Gear seems fine when engine is not running. Appreciate any feedback from you. Thanks
If the engine is running and the clutch is stuck, you'll never get it in gear. Try this. Engine off. Put it in gear. One Foot on the clutch, the other Foot on the footbrake. Handbrake on. Start engine. It will either turn over or not turn over. This sometimes frees the clutch.
@FluffleValveExpress thank you for your reply. I actually did that few times. Put in gear in first gear with engine off. When I turn on the engine, it keeps stalling. No change. When I manage to find a gear with engine going I get just grinding in the transmission.
OK! if this chap would have put it in reverse held the clutch in and set the E break then turned it over this would have broke loose. Did this with my dodge 3500 after siting for two years.
Chris, I made the mistake of running the jet wash over it all to remove muddy crud while the gearbox was off. It sat for two weeks before putting the gearbox back on. Then I found it had glued its self to the flywheel. So it all came out again.
Normally I can get mine to separate but it is stuck good this time. None of my old tricks work this time.

@davylee88 That sounds like the clutch travel needs adjusting.

We had it every gear and tried staring it with the handbrake on etc, etc. It just wouldn't free off.
@@FluffleValveExpress wow that's really stuck.
Just like my dad always told me.. nothing like a greasy hole lol
looks like a brand new clutch. How long was truck sitting for?
