We had the blessing of living in a 17th century stone cottage in England for a year. It was called the ‘old lace house’. In the attic the old beams were beautiful there was no insulation so looking up all you could see were the slates! In the kitchen the floor was covered with unsealed but waxed terracotta squares. It made the most delightful noise when walked upon. They tinkled because there was no grout. Assuming it was laid on a soil base. There were dog footprints in the baked tiles. The cottage was cold but what a treasure to have lived in it! So no grout but a musical whimsical sound❣️❣️❣️🍄🥰🐇🧚♀️🦉🦔🌼🌺🧝♂️🪻🪿😻
I love the hot air balloons in the background. Where did you find those? I’m so glad you went with a smaller grout line. My mom chose larger back in 2000 and it does not hold up like the smaller grout lines do. It would be fun for you to sign or write a verse on one tile before sealing.

I am having déjà vu when my late husband and I laid tile everywhere in our old little cottage…nothing square. He was a perfectionist, I on the other hand love rustic. Despite that, we made a great team and it was worth all of the messy days and weeks of upheaval….enjoy 😊

Your kitchen floor is looking fantastic! My only question is will the tile be slippery when using the semi-gloss, such as, if water puddles on it.

Make sure you use flexible grout when your tile butts up to your wood floors, or real wood threshold. Wood moves, swells, shrinks, etc…. and you’ll have grout that ends up crumbling. It might take years, but it will for sure happen. You can get a good match to the flexible kind. You should use a heat gun or hairdryer to bake on the products you tested on your tile.
Wow, you are amazing! The floor is looking so pretty already. You are truely bringing your dream into being.Great idea in testing the tile. One of the worst stains is from mustard or turmeric, I am so careful when putting turmeric in my coffee.
These unusually warm days sure call us into the garden. I cleaned out a bed yesterday, and my muscles are telling me about it. My son said, you better do some varden fitness exercises now. 😄

I would call a pro to put Terra cotta tiles in. They are so thick, what happens when they are but up against the wood floor, two different heights.
I can understand not Not cutting your youngest son's hair. But could you brush it at least? I have been watching your videos for a very long time and enjoy them but that little boy always has bed head.

Watching someone's personal real life and it's not some TV show takes courage on their part, the rest of the family have to be able to live their lives, it's important that we don't judge, just enjoy all their hard work putting out these videos for our entertainment 😊
