If You are on the fence, jump off and go to your nearest retailer and get this TV. Recently purchased the 75" version after my 65" died Superbowl week. It had been 8 years since I last purchased a big screen and I had never considered Hisense would be a viable option. But I researched and had seen this video series, and based on Steve's review, decided this was the best option for me. Best bang for your buck. Picture quality, upscaling and the sound qualities are exceptional. I connected my gaming PC to one of the HDMI (144hz) connections and instantly the resolution is better than my previous TV. The only adjustment I had to make out of the box was actually backing off the brightness, go figure. I found that it was too bright, lol. Glad I had seen this videos series and loving my Hisense U7.
As a note, Hisense doesn’t enable peak performance out of the two high-end HDMI 2.1 ports right out of the box. You do need to go through the settings and enable maximum bandwidth on those in order to get high resolution and high framerate
you go into the input settings and for each one toggle off to the right to that hdmi and then click enhanced for hdmi 60hz and click enhanced plus for the 144hz hdmi that needs to be plugged in

Agree for this price class they seem to blow LG and Samsung out of the water. I’ve almost always owned a LG tv and now looked for one in this price class. LG offers the QNED 80 series which isn’t mini led and apparently it has terrible contrast according to reviews and rtings. Hisense U7K seems to be the best bang for your buck more features and better picture quality. If I decide to buy a TV this black friday it will be the Hisense

@@TechSteve I do have questions! @Tech Steve, at 4K, input lag is around 5 or 6ms. I know this because I have the 75" U7K and I've measured this myself. I also have the LG 42" C2 OLED and it's also around 4 - 6ms. These numbers are also on RTINGS as well if you want to go and reference them. 1080p is indeed around 13 - 14ms, the higher the resolution, the lower the input lag.

The is a tough choice. I’m about to replace my Hisense 65in H9G for either a 65 U8K or a 75in u7k…mostly for gaming. I’m combing a bunch of videos trying to make a choice
Thanks for showing the skin tones on your TV. I just bought the 75" U7K and the skin tones aren't good. I watched your video on the computer first, then switched to watching it on the TV via the app. On the computer skin tones on this video look good. However, on the TV the skin tones on this video (as well as skin tones across other shows and formats) show up yellow/green, light complexion skin tones are yellowish on the TV, and darker complexion skin tones come out as greenish/yellow. Other colors look fine and pop, it's just the skin tones don't look right.

Hi Steve! Wich one do you recomend for a living room with a big window on a side? 65U8H or 65U7K? I know that U8H has more nits/brightness, but is it better than U7K? Thanks
I would recommend at least a sound bar if not a full home theater system with any TV these days. Some TV speakers are less terrible than others, but they're all pretty bad.

Does 1080p 240hz work with VRR? I plan on using this with a Media/Gaming PC in the family room. Sit about 10ft away. Debating going with 65 or 75". I would like to be able to use it like a monitor at that distance so likely couldn't run 100% scale and would need to bump it to 150%. Edit: Just ordered the U75K 65” for $699 from Costco. I have a very well rounded gaming/media pc to pair with it. 5800x / x570 / 48gb 3200mhz 6700XT / 600watt Platinum Samsung 990pro 1tb boot Samsung 980pro 2tb game Samsung 970evo+ 2tb game WD Red+ 4tb game / images
I got one of these yesterday. Set it all up and it wouldn’t turn on. White blinking light on the front. Dead. Having it collected and replaced. Not a great start on my first Hisense. Great video though I can’t wait for my replacement and to get gaming on it.
Hey Steve, are all your TV set to preset picture settings when you're doing these reviews? Im curious because, these TVs can be calibrated to look 10x better than the preset settings. If the pictures look this good without calibration, I imagine these TVs can look so much better calibrated.
Most people will not calibrate their TV everything you add to a video that’s not factory make everything complicated, example people watching all over the world with different versions and sizes will want the perfect settings. So why open a can of worms
Hey Steve, I just got this TV and I’m wondering if there’s a way to turn off intelligent scene while gaming? It’s on by default and greyed out whenever I try to click on it. It constantly causes the sky in most of my games to go from blue to this greyish blue color and it’s super annoying
ok, I have this television and when you activate enhanced 144hz to 240hz, the option does not stay fixed. As soon as they change to another Hdmi port, for example or to a television, the television itself and the console go back to enhanced 60hz to 120hz. I don't know why people tell people to activate the highest setting when they are fed up with knowing that it isn't possible, the television and consoles automatically return to the most appropriate enhanced setting!
For me the question is 75 inch U7k for 899 or 65 U8K for 899. A 75 inch U8k is 1289. Is the U8k 400 bucks better? It almost sounds like a no. lol@@Leonard.L.Church
When I get my new tv(50 or 55") I am chosing between LgC2 and Qn90B!I would go with the OLED but I am concerned about APL(I am unable to disable it without risking to lose my warranty).
No but if you play lower quality sources this can happen, use as much high quality paid subscription apps and this doesn’t normally happen. Invest in an external audio system especially for movies. TV has tiny speakers
Got this tv for 721 bucks from amazon. It is sitting in the box waiting for me to set her up lol. I had a Toshiba 55 inch fire tv, I think it was the 2019 model, I came home one night and turned it on and just a black screen, but still had audio. I went through all the steps like ( 10 times ) refreshing unplugging etc. Nothing worked. I was told it was a backlight issue. I paid 350 for it new, is it worth trying to fix or is it ready for electronic heaven? Also with this 65 inch U7k what HDMI port do you recommend I plug my Xbox x series to?
Steve if I may ask just one question on the U8K.... i cant find any info about if the picture quality it better on worse with a 75" ISP panel or better or worse with a 65" VA panel... I really would like just a little guidance please i dont make alot of money so this is kinda a big thing for me. Thank you
Hey Steve - Your content is amazing. My main TV used the most is a C2 evo for the bedroom. A Omni Fire in the living room, and looking at the U7k or u8k for the basement family room/bar area for sports, some movie content, shows. Is the 8k really worth the upgrade in terms of movies/shows/sports? I'm looking at the 75" model, wall mounted, with large sectional 12-15' away for most viewing.
@@TechSteve how much better quality am I going to notice though? It’s mostly going to be sports and some movies. I feel the u7 might be the better bang for buck in use
Jeff people can guess, but I will compare them when I get time. The U8K 500 nits brighter, double the local dimming zones, 5 speaker audio for starts plus calman calibration sync enabled… come on
There not a lot of games that run at 120fps on the PS5. The mast majority are call of duty. The Xbox series X/S has more 120fps games but they are mostly back compatible last gen games. This generation is still mostly 60fps and 30fps. Tvs like this is better suited for PCs
Yes but it’s a free extra feature so why would you not take it? Cheaper versions usually don’t have mini led display or some other feature missing. This one has pretty much every feature I want, the high refresh rate option is just a bonus that I’ll gladly take

Hi Steve. How do you think the U7K compares to the TCL R646?
Hello sir great video. Is this better than U8H 65inch? Thank you
That’s a very good question I was thinking the same
Yes @TechSteve please answer this!
This review made it harder for me to decide between the u7k & u8h, cant seam to find any direct comparisons online. Which would you say is better.
The 8k o course
@@TechSteve if you had to choose from the U8H or U7K Which one would be better,, I own a U8H and so far it’s been a great TV amazing picture quality I use my mini PC to stream everything
@@TechStevebetween u7k and u8k, of course. But he's asking between u7k and u8h. I have the same question!
This is my question too... for just 50€ difference... i just cant decide...
U7K has 144hz, 6ms response time better for gaming. U8H 120hz 8ms response time.
Excellent Review my Dude !!
Thank You Brother
@Tech Steve , In India hisense is selling same model U7K but wit
h 32 dimming zones for 650$ , do you think its worth it?
Hi Steve!
Wich one do you recomend for a living room with a big window on a side? 65U8H or 65U7K? I know that U8H has more nits/brightness, but is it better than U7K? Thanks
Future video
@@TechSteve I hope soon, pls 😁🙏🏽
@@TechStevewill be waiting I still can’t decide between them 😅
Would you prefer this tv or the E7NQ pro
If you have a 2.1 HDMI cable. The 1440 resolution option is to keep it turned off! This option is for those who play with the HDMI 2.0 cable
I would recommend at least a sound bar if not a full home theater system with any TV these days. Some TV speakers are less terrible than others, but they're all pretty bad.
Agree
Well thats enough for me when steve puts a stamp of approval on it then thats the green light for me. Even though the price is a little up there its time to start saving those pennies😅😅😂😂 Big up yuhself Bro good review as always. I got the U6H so Hisense again it is.
That’s still a great TV for the 🤑
@@TechSteve it is but that step up with the mini leds and other improvement Hisense definatley went all in to change the game for med range ppl
I agree with that bro
Thanks Tech Steve for the amazing review. what is the actual height of the TV from the top down with the stands attached?
You have to check the website or the links I provided because they have different sizes
Navigation and manuel is a NIGHTMARE ... GREAT PICURE
Get an Apple TV or roku
AWESOME - Thanks Steve mine is coming tomorrow
How is your tv working now?
How does it do with UA-cam content? I mostly watch UA-cam and occasionally play a game.
Hey Steve! I love the soap opera effect what budget 65-75inch tv should i get
It’s better to talk to a sales person to qualify your needs.
@TechSteve I was looking at the tcl s450g 75 inch tv. Does it have a good soap opera affect or does it have one ?
Should I get the u8h or the u6k? Right now that is what is available where i am

I am Confused between the tcl q7 and the Hisense u7k . Pls recommend one out of the two
What about Sony x80k? I'm like u want to choose between Sony x80k and u7k
I say the U7K. It has better reviews from rtings and other sites/sources. If I decide to buy a TV it will be the U7K
I got one of these yesterday. Set it all up and it wouldn’t turn on. White blinking light on the front. Dead. Having it collected and replaced. Not a great start on my first Hisense. Great video though I can’t wait for my replacement and to get gaming on it.
Product can be dropped when shipping l, not always the company fault
Is the U7H good for gaming?
Is HISENCE U7KQ better than tcl c745?whats your opinion?
ok, I have this television and when you activate enhanced 144hz to 240hz, the option does not stay fixed.
Would you get this over TCL Q7 if gaming and movie streaming is important?
Great video review by the way
True Steve looking great this tv wauw
?
@@TechSteve best tv for the price
I don’t recommend TVs unless i compare them, it’s impossible to remember every screen
Quick question please 🙏 should I go with a Samsung 65 TV (UA65CU7000U) or a similar LG model for picture quality, which one would you choose?
Steve which has the best picture quality, is it the U8K or U7K? Thanks
Man, I haven’t gotten that far with all these reviews
Most likely the u8k
For me the question is 75 inch U7k for 899 or 65 U8K for 899. A 75 inch U8k is 1289. Is the U8k 400 bucks better? It almost sounds like a no. lol@@Leonard.L.Church
tanks for video 😍
How does the 65 VA panel perform compared to the 75 IPS panel ?
When I get my new tv(50 or 55") I am chosing between LgC2 and Qn90B!I would go with the OLED but I am concerned about APL(I am unable to disable it without risking to lose my warranty).
Good work ..I have Hisense u7h model tv. Just one question after i off the tv sometimes i get cracking or popping sound for tv.. is it normal bro?
No but if you play lower quality sources this can happen, use as much high quality paid subscription apps and this doesn’t normally happen. Invest in an external audio system especially for movies. TV has tiny speakers
Would you get this tv over the tcl qm8? In Australia we dont have the qm8, we have the tcl c845, is this tv pretty much the same as the qm8?
If it's mini led yes get the 8 series
Anyone know whats better for watching NBA games and movies, The hisense U7k or the TLC Q7
You can have Free Sync Off and just turn it to Automatic in the PS5 settings
Should rbg be set to limited or full for ps5 gaming?
How is your tv functioning now?
Steve if I may ask just one question on the U8K.... i cant find any info about if the picture quality it better on worse with a 75" ISP panel or better or worse with a 65" VA panel... I really would like just a little guidance please i dont make alot of money so this is kinda a big thing for me. Thank you
I didn’t review that one but you will get better colors and better viewing angles
@@TechSteve thank you I appreciate the information on it
Hey Steve, you noticed a big boost in the red on this U7K model, do you agree with Digital Trends that the U8K has a big boost in the blues?
I just got my calibration setup and I haven’t got back to that TV but I trust Caleb he’s a smart and amazing tech journalist.
@@TechSteveu re both good.
Does this TV have a option to turn the backlight down to save the life of the TV
Any disadvantages of getting the 75 in?
Is there a way I can use both audio speaker at the same time of my soundbar and subwoofer along with the and tv sound and subwoofer?
Hey Steve - Your content is amazing. My main TV used the most is a C2 evo for the bedroom. A Omni Fire in the living room, and looking at the U7k or u8k for the basement family room/bar area for sports, some movie content, shows. Is the 8k really worth the upgrade in terms of movies/shows/sports? I'm looking at the 75" model, wall mounted, with large sectional 12-15' away for most viewing.
I always go for the best
@@TechSteve how much better quality am I going to notice though? It’s mostly going to be sports and some movies. I feel the u7 might be the better bang for buck in use
Jeff people can guess, but I will compare them when I get time. The U8K 500 nits brighter, double the local dimming zones, 5 speaker audio for starts plus calman calibration sync enabled… come on
I wonder what’s the best value for movies? I’ve read that Sony is playing on a league of its own when it comes to motion smoothness.
Great again.
This one has pretty much every feature I want, the high refresh rate option is just a bonus that I’ll gladly take
Gran Turismo 7 supports 120hz. That's all I need to know.
COD is all that matters
Sooo you’re saying… buy an Xbox 👍🏼
I just got a 75-inch at Best buy for $899
Hi everyone can anyone tell me if theses tvs i good for bedroom or are mini led better i’m 60 play a little xbox and watch movies and a lot of football i also live in rural thailand so not all tvs are available thank you for any help 😎👍
How does it do with the Nintendo Switch?
Question, 85 in tu690t or a 75 inch u7k? They are the same price
U7K with 120Hz and mini led
Thanks and thank you for great content
Do you ever get dead pixels with these TVs? I always do still trying to get one perfect
No very rare
Hello, how do you get that gaming menu shown @ 1:35 to pop up?
Menu button on the remote on the Google TV version
Can you turn the display off and still listen to the tv?
Hisense, absolutely kill'n it, with high quality at the best price.
🤑👍
Yes sirrrr

TechSteve has some of the most balanced TV reviews on UA-cam. I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the "lying to people" comment.
Sorry I had to just block all the negativity. He was doing too much
colour los ot side angle is 55" hisense u7k ?
Hmmmm......U7 vs U6, is the upgrade worth it?

Hello, my HDR Game picture setting looks very washed out compared to let's say HDR Vivid or HDR Standard. I played both Spider-Man 2 and Forbidden West and both of those games looked very faded/washed out on HDR Game mode
You might have to adjust the HDR settings on the console and the game
@@TechSteve Thanks a lot man. It definitely did the trick and HDR Game mode no longer looks washed out and finally looks very vibrant. I liked and subscribed.
@GamingSinceXCI appreciate it brother 👍🏽
@@TechSteve Hello again, I am having issues with the TV where color temp is changing on its own constantly while gaming and watching videos. Do you know of this issue?
U7K vs U8K which one is better?
Hello, which 75" TV would you buy if your budget is $700 maximum?
I wouldn’t buy a 75” in that price range I would finance a better TV.
This or tcl q7 ?
Is this wall mounted?
Yes
How’s the “soap opera” effect on this TV? It’s about time to upgrade my 7 year old mid-range Samsung and the costco deal on this TV almost sold me.
You can customize the jutter to correct that
Thanks! Keep up the good work, your videos are great.
I do NOT have any sop opera. Ppl have that SOAP issues mostly watching some intersting contents, or it only happens in Some random specific games. U either get it or most likely NOT. For me i never NOTICEd it ONCe. So its strange ppl notice it, cuz i was waiting to notice it , but I dont . (I have previous Gen. so i should have more server issue lol but nothing.”
Someone had to say it, I haven’t seen it either. I have a buddy with a firestick with unlimited IPTV he says it all the time. I pay for premium content and it never happens. Things that makes me wonder
Make sure get the MINI LED. They have U7K ULED version n U7K MINI LED version both this year lol. Both amazing but its like “why not”. :)
excellent job
