Hey Martin, how are you doing today? I am a journalism major at Kent state and was wondering if you would be willing to do a quick interview. The paper is due Wednesday and it’s on the negative effects of the overuse of external factors while lifting such as belts, straps, sleeves, smelling salts, etc.

It's a problem here in Australia too, but in America it seems to be an even bigger problem (Based on all these styles of athlete training videos) Most private S&C coaches seem to rely to heavily on gimmicks, or unique principles to try and market themselves to attract more athletes. Meanwhile, the S&C's working inside sporting organisation can stick to evidence based, simpler workouts as the athletes are provided to them.
Obviously they're limited to a hotel gym whifh will affect things, but this is a really weird session format. Way too much any exercises and volume, bad repetition ranges for is seeming yo be targeted and shocking exercise order.
Most of the exercises are fine by themselves, but this is easily two or three sessions worth crammed in to one.

@@mattc4266 standing with the ball getting smacked trains both core strength, as well as when basketball players need to grip a ball tightly after a rebound to prevent it from getting stolen. For example in Zion’s rookie season when he stripped giannis and dunked and it was a highlight play. Trainers that get paid that much and are trusted by the top athletes usually know what their doing 👍
