      @@lovenaturevlogs wow we can always learn something , I would never have thought bees would be attracted to cow dung , I actually thought it was just to cover the gaps and make it more protected for the bees , then I was thinking why not use clay or other material.

      Although clay are also used, but a paste is applied by mixing it with cow dung. when we do traditional beekeeping in the Himalayan region, the wall hives are also plastered with mud and cow dung in a similar way, due to which, after the dung dries, it gives out a different type of smell and the local honeybees get attracted by this smell and quickly come to the new bee box. Mostly cow dung and clay are used in the Himalayan region, although clay can also be used for plastering, but the clay falls off after drying up after some time so mix clay with cow dung, this is our traditional method of beekeeping.
