HEy thanks for the question Jaholo, the best way is to really team up with others as hard as it may be, because you need to present a finished product to have the "WOW" effect and sell your song. When you put pen to paper and write your lyrics, you envision the finished song already, but to the person reading your lyrics, they just see a poem. You gotta make them see the whole picture, otherwise they will just move on to the next song.

Hey Cameron, the only thing you can really do is align yourself with Soca in some way and launch yourself out from that after some time, because Soca has the Trini audience. The truth is for all music these days is that everyone has become lazy, no one makes the time to seek good music again, they rather be told what to listen to. And if everyone listens to soca, start working your way in that direction. Hey El Diablo, you send a finished song, thats music, lyrics and melody. At that point the artist/record company will make what ever changes to make the song fit the artist, re record the song and release it under that artists name as their own, you are credited as a songwriter and paid.
@@Unfilteredcuts25 the best way would be to make a proper demo of the song so that they can hear your vision for the song. Hey Spicerow, the only way anyone will believe in you and your skills is to give them something finished that they can hear, otherwise they will never see your vision. So unfortunately that is where the "Production" part comes into play, you must Produce the very thing you hear in your head, so that others can listen. And yes learning production takes much time, but it also is a skill and another art form in itself.
Hey Mike, yes copywriting is 100% important, a good sounding demo is perfect and much needed to get your point across, think of it as a business presentation in order to sell your dream in the best possible way. If you don't do this they may miss the point and pass over your song.
The world is connected by the internet, you really cannot say that it will never happen for you, you just need to know where to look. Keep the hope alive because that is all the drive you need!
If you and the person of Fiverr have some sort of songwriters agreement where you both do a "Song Split" for percentages % in terms of what is fair amount for the amount of work was put into the song each. It is possible if you already have a working relationship with that person and TRUST them, because a lot can go wrong with this method, and once you put your name on it, you will be held liable if the song infringes on anyone else's copyright. So it is not something I would do.
@@TieDyeKitty Alright! Thank you 🙌🏻 I’ll play it safe for now. Can I ask if there’s an application to check for melody plagiarism? I sort of came up with one but is afraid it might be similar to some other song 😭
Don't you think that if they like a song they will just make one very similar, but different enough, and you will never know about it? They have all the best means, and we are nobodies... I already know many 'artists' that does exactly that and they are doing great on the music business. I prefer honest collabs with no so famous singers.
It's still a huge a grey area. And I've known a couple of songwriters that discovered their songs/lyrics were redone by major and independent artists without the compensation and the BMI/ASCAP process. You can't prevent that from happening. Lets see how much money it costs to take the record labels to court and win.
Hey One Man Band, if you believe in your own music strong enough, you will spend all your money to promote it, so do what ever it takes to get your name out there. But the first step is to make sure the music is copy-written, because you are going to be "shopping it" , after that send it out to be reviewed on forums, and any feedback you get may help you improve the song even more. But always be on the lookout for opportunities that ask for music submissions that match your song.
You cannot contact them directly as I said in this video, Artists are signed to record labels have teams to handle this sort of thing. You just need to pay attention to the tip sheets and submit your music to any opportunities it may fit, you never know who you are submitting your music to until, someone buys your song.
Because I've been wondering when a song writer sells only the lyrics how can the artist know the tune use on the song or will the artist uses his own tune
Hey WAZAZY sorry for the late reply, yes you will need to record the song somehow, most songwriters have some sort of home recording set up so that they can create demos of the songs. Creating your own demo in recent times has become more of getting as close to the finished product you hear in your own head as possible, that way the artist you are pitching the song to will get better picture of the direction you are going, the less work you give them, the better for you.
Thank you for saying that! but the whole point of doing these videos, is trying to help other musician first. At some point the videos can make money, but if I really wanted to make money from videos, I wont be talking about the music industry. LOL
Hi Moises, deadlines are set to tell you that if you submit your song after the “deadline” date, they will not even open your email to listen to your song.
Hi there Walking Bhutanese, lyrics themselves have to be adjusted to fit the timing of a song, so in most cases what you write as of now will be the story draft. Also lyrics can be adjusted to fit different music, so what you must do it try to become part of a Songwriting Team first. Pitching songs to artists is a time sensitive process, so you have to make the best presentation possible as you will not get a second chance. So join a song writing team first for best results.
@@walkingbhutanese7926 I understand, but there are songwriters who write, record and produce songs themselves who then pitch to other artists, sometime they are lucky and one of their songs get picked, but many times songs are passed over while looking for a HIT SONG. So they look at lyrics without music as a Poem, so it’s in your best interest to find a way to provide a completed song for them to hear.
Hi Oliver, I have never had the pleasure of selling a song yet, so I really cannot say. But from what I have heard, it is a negotiation process, but it’s dependent on the budget of the project they are working on, so they may make the first offer.
Hey thanks for the question, the music industry is very guarded and secretive. I cannot tell you how to become a ghost producer, but like I said in this video, there are always artist looking for songs, so its all about your connections and where you network. Keep producing your music, and i would say reach out to www.epidemicsound.com, that is the music library I use for much of the music in my videos (the songs i did not write) You can send them links to your tracks, and if the like them, they will let you become one of their writers/producers. At this point your music becomes available to content creators around the world for them to use in their UA-cam videos or ads. You will get paid for your music.
these tipsheets are useless if your goal is to pitch to recording artists, i've even heard pro songwriters saying that. you gotta have CONNECTIONS in the industry, REAL connections. it's sad to see that there's companies and individuals out there trying to profit from hopeful songwriters who doesn't know how the industry works.
Hi Poppy Paul, thanks for your input on this topic! But most have no connection when they first start off, so any and everything including tip sheet or songwriter conferences is a great help. Tip sheets may not always bring the best deals, but you really never know who is looking for songs or even where they look.
@@TieDyeKitty networking. that's also what the industry professionals says. artists seem to write with their friends and people they trust and feel comfortable with. i think that to get a cut with artists that you have no connection with, you need to be one of the top writers in the industry, or you won't be taken seriously. or at least get a referral or recommendation by any of the gatekeepers.
This is true, because do u think that major artist doesnt have friends that probably already pitching them songs and they have already the best people around them in terms of writing and producing sounds, and most of the artist rather make their own song and dont like to get others to be credited because Artists especially main stream mostly are capable and have their own pride in producing their own music and writing their own lyrics and finding their own melody. This is like submitting ideas and then gets rejected but they already gets your melody, they can always reject yours but still can use your melody and all and produce better version of it

You need to look for artist that may want lyrics, I for one am not sure where to look.
If I made lyrics and order a song on fiverr, can I still submit it?
Once your songs are copy-written they won’t take the chance to do something like that. Because it gives anyone the right to take them to court.
I have this song I write I know it will definitely b a hit for sure. Contact me
@@TieDyeKitty i was just about to say this .
It's still a huge a grey area. And I've known a couple of songwriters that discovered their songs/lyrics were redone by major and independent artists without the compensation and the BMI/ASCAP process. You can't prevent that from happening. Lets see how much money it costs to take the record labels to court and win.
Okay peaceeee

Nicely said Camilla, thanks for your comment.
cool......howdo I know what my songs are worth, or worth showing?
Hey One Man Band, if you believe in your own music strong enough, you will spend all your money to promote it, so do what ever it takes to get your name out there.
But the first step is to make sure the music is copy-written, because you are going to be "shopping it" , after that send it out to be reviewed on forums, and any feedback you get may help you improve the song even more.
But always be on the lookout for opportunities that ask for music submissions that match your song.
U still here? I need some help
I wrote five songs but I want to sell my one song with rythem, how do I contact to famous singer like Elli goulding, Justin bibber, akon.
You cannot contact them directly as I said in this video, Artists are signed to record labels have teams to handle this sort of thing.
You just need to pay attention to the tip sheets and submit your music to any opportunities it may fit, you never know who you are submitting your music to until, someone buys your song.
@@TieDyeKitty thank you sir
Thank you champion🙏
Just happy I could give some hope.
Where can i sell my religious songs?
To Christian Artists, or scout them out yourself. Do splitsheets.
good answer!
Sorry for the late reply, but I saw someone gave a good answer already.
What is copywriting in music?
Will try to upload a video on this topic tomorrow for you!!!
Thanks for a great question Pharaoh.

So as a song writer before selling your song you will need to record it on studio?
Because I've been wondering when a song writer sells only the lyrics how can the artist know the tune use on the song or will the artist uses his own tune
Hey WAZAZY sorry for the late reply, yes you will need to record the song somehow, most songwriters have some sort of home recording set up so that they can create demos of the songs.
Creating your own demo in recent times has become more of getting as close to the finished product you hear in your own head as possible, that way the artist you are pitching the song to will get better picture of the direction you are going, the less work you give them, the better for you.
Unfortunately lyrics alone is considered a poem and not a song, there is no melody or music structure to them.
@@TieDyeKitty calling them artists are cringe... And lyricism is the true art... I'm the best lyricist in the world - the all seeing eye
Thank you. I hope you get paid well from this vid
Thank you for saying that! but the whole point of doing these videos, is trying to help other musician first.
At some point the videos can make money, but if I really wanted to make money from videos, I wont be talking about the music industry. LOL
That's cool 😎
Whats the deadline?
Hi Moises, deadlines are set to tell you that if you submit your song after the “deadline” date, they will not even open your email to listen to your song.
What if someone just steal your songs and take all the money and credit from it??
Theres a saying "Good artists copy. Great artists steal."
That is why you Copyright your works first.
I've wrote songs for artist that's you might like..
Hello, I am a lyricist. Will it be possible to only write lyrics??
Hi there Walking Bhutanese, lyrics themselves have to be adjusted to fit the timing of a song, so in most cases what you write as of now will be the story draft.
Also lyrics can be adjusted to fit different music, so what you must do it try to become part of a Songwriting Team first.
Pitching songs to artists is a time sensitive process, so you have to make the best presentation possible as you will not get a second chance.
So join a song writing team first for best results.
@@TieDyeKitty So, we have to make tunes and musics too?
@@walkingbhutanese7926 for best results yes.
@@TieDyeKitty I am kind of good lyricst but I don't song and even don't know how to play musics. But I can really write very good lyrics.
How much do artists pay for songs
Hi Oliver, I have never had the pleasure of selling a song yet, so I really cannot say.
But from what I have heard, it is a negotiation process, but it’s dependent on the budget of the project they are working on, so they may make the first offer.
Hello sir how are you sir tell me how to became a gost producer?
Hey thanks for the question, the music industry is very guarded and secretive.
I cannot tell you how to become a ghost producer, but like I said in this video, there are always artist looking for songs, so its all about your connections and where you network.
Keep producing your music, and i would say reach out to www.epidemicsound.com, that is the music library I use for much of the music in my videos (the songs i did not write)
You can send them links to your tracks, and if the like them, they will let you become one of their writers/producers.
At this point your music becomes available to content creators around the world for them to use in their UA-cam videos or ads.
You will get paid for your music.
How do they pay songwriter
In most cases it will be through your lawyer because you should have some sort of contract for the sale of the song.
these tipsheets are useless if your goal is to pitch to recording artists, i've even heard pro songwriters saying that. you gotta have CONNECTIONS in the industry, REAL connections. it's sad to see that there's companies and individuals out there trying to profit from hopeful songwriters who doesn't know how the industry works.
Hi Poppy Paul, thanks for your input on this topic!
But most have no connection when they first start off, so any and everything including tip sheet or songwriter conferences is a great help.
Tip sheets may not always bring the best deals, but you really never know who is looking for songs or even where they look.
@@TieDyeKitty no not really, i think they're just giving songwriters false hope.
@@bjarnyg so in your experience, how would you go about it instead? feel free to share.
