Great video bro 💯🔥👌 What a time machine, I grew up on tug Hill I had a 94 Vmax4, my cousin had a 98 SRX 700, and we totally did the same shit 💯 swapping sleds, drag racing, only difference is we had a TON of snow in the late 90s on Tug Hill in upstate NY, I've been looking for a early 2000/late 90s sled when I saw your video, living in the city for 10 years I haven't been riding but I'm going to that was great thanks man 😎👌💯🔥💪
Thanks for sharing. I had the same sled growing up. Not as fast as the new sleds but fast enough for the handling of the day. The days of driving along barbwire fences at 80+ mph.
@@The44445544 i agree the v max and the srx are lake beasts tons of factory horse the right clutching and gears even the new 4 strokes cant touch them i would take the srx love that triple
@@The44445544 vmax4’s still surprise people that think there slow. When I had my imp800 grass/ice dragger I’ve even upset some crank shop 925 doo’s. It’s all in the set up and muscle😁
@@The44445544 I don't know about that. Once the R1 engine came to snowmobiles in the early 2000's with 150 HP naturally aspirated out of the box Yamahas have been doing a easy 120MPH on the lake. The current top speed record holder for a stock sled is a new 2021 Yamaha Sidewinder SRX. Its in a whole new class of fast. Most people don't have the track like conditions to go that fast. Your talking 150MPH+ out of the box. Tiny bumps become massive ones at those speeds. They just got faster with time. That being said. not really that much faster. Only a little bit. These 90's sleds still rip it fast even to todays speeds and in most cases are faster then most of the new Ski-doo and Polaris line up. Most of their sleds (not all) now are clutched for low end torque for wheelies. Cause everyone wants to do wheelies now. I have a 2000 SRX 700 and a 2006 Attak in my backyard. They ride totally different. I still use them both equally and they are equally as fun to ride. I'm currently at this moment waiting for it to warm up to -15c and i'll be outside riding them. And yes the 06 Attak is faster by only 5 mph or so.
wdym not as fast as the new sleds? yamaha sxr, srx, vmax and mountain max will fly away from almost every new sled but the sidewinders and arctic cat m

Only one component I had to put on it on the engine after all those miles was an oil pump it went it went at about 10,000 MI other than maintenance rear suspension maintenance that's all I had to do to it

Yeah it seemed every time we "raced" in this video the Vmax always started to walk the SRX on top. Granted the SRX had the slower line, ie couple inches of fresh snow vs. the trail, I don't think it would've made up the difference between the two.

i had both these sleds and they were silly fast!!!
srx sounds good
Back in the day, nothing beat my vmax 4 on the lakes. Different story in the trails though.
Beautiful sleds!

sorry but on a lake some of new sled are gone to be shy vs those 90s 3 or 4 cylinder....the newer sled are quicker yes but faster not really. ;)

Kind of reminds me of wisconsin snow. Also enough to close the trails. Get it while you can.
id take the srx 700. that power to weight ratio.
Vmax4 is the way to go much more power I ownd both sleds
