Such a good explanation and such a bad audio to upload the video with so much reverb and echo. I cannot hear it properly but would really appreciate if someone can upload with a better audio if available jazakallah

Ya Mutfi, please do write a book on this and please elaborate more. This year here in New Zealand we started fasting two days after Saudi. One day later would be ok I guess as per my understanding of what you said, but two days should not be. Sometimes years we start fasting a day later than Saudi but make Eid the same day. I just kept going with the Ijma, but now Im doubting what I was doing was right.

The division is about the authenticity of the sightings which is dividing the ummah.

Aslmkm wrb, please Syaikh enlighten us on this - can we take the sighting of the moon using telescope as the same category as sighting with naked eyes?

Whosoever sighted the moon should fast...
Clarification needed whether its the individuals or the whole world

My first time hearing that's the opinion of the hanbali madhab?? Need more evidence to prove that please .
Would be great if you can bring the text and the names of the books where all this is mentioned , also for Hanafi madhab

He mentions that it is one of the opinions of the madhab. But the hanbali madhab says that if one person saw it, it is binding on the whole world.

I've found the evidence in the hanafi madhhab where it's mentioned, from ibn abidin and other great hanafi scholars 😊

"Most `ulama give no weight to differences in Matlas. This is based on the general meaning of the authentic hadith: Fast upon seeing it; and break your fast upon seeing it. This is the truth, and none else can be accepted." - [Shaykh al-albaani , Tamam ul-Minnah, page 398]
"If the crescent is seen by people in one location, people in other locations must abide by their sighting. This is based on the hadiths that declare the beginning and the end of fasting at the sighting of the crescent. These hadiths address the whole Muslim Ummah: when one Muslim sees the crescent anywhere, his sighting would be a sighting for all Muslims." - [Siddiq Hasan khan , ar-Rawdhat un-Nadiyyah, volume 1, page 224]
"If the sighting of the New Moon is confirmed in any quarter of the Earth then Saum becomes obligatory for the Muslims in all other parts. Differences in the Matla' (rising of the moon) shall not be considered. This is the uniform judgment of the three Imams. Only the Shafi path differs (Madahibul Arba' Vol.1, Page:550, similar opinion in Allama Abbas Karara’s Addeen P.56 by)
"Muslim Scholars agree that if the natives in one place, in general, observe the crescent new moon, fasting becomes obligatory on all the inhabitants on this earth" (Rahmathul Umma Page: 118) (similar opinion in Nailul Autar 4-269, Addurar.1-134, Mugni: 3-5, Shamsuddin Muquaddis in Kitabul Furoo’a, Arraulathynnadiyya 1-38, Fiqhussunnah 2-436, Tuhfathul Ahvadiyya 379/3, Insaf. 3-273, Nailul Ma’arib, 1-66, Raudul Mar’i’ 1-46)
There is no consideration for the differences in the rising of the moon. This is the interpretation of the report from Abu Hanifa (Fatawa Almagiriya: Vol 1 Page 198)
"The authorized position of the school is that sighting in one city is sighting for all. It will become incumbent upon the inhabitants of the Eastern hemisphere to confirm the month by sighting in the West." (Al-Zayla’ee, Uthman bin Ali, Tabyeen al-Haqaiq harh Kanz al-Daqaiq, dar al-Kitab al-Islami, Vol: 1, P:316, See also Radd al-Mukhtar, 2, 619)
"The Maliki and Zaidi positions should be accepted in this regard. Al-Mahdi and al- Qurtabi have also reported on the authority of their elders that sighting of one locality is the sighting of all the localities." (Al-Shoka’ni, Muhammad bin Ali, Nayl al-Aowtaar, Dar al-Hadith, 4, 231)
“When the Hilal is confirmed at a place near or far, fasting is obligatory on all people. The ruling on those who did not see is the same as for those who saw it, even if the Mathla’h (horizons) differed, fasting is compulsory.” (Iqna 1:309)
“When one town decides, it is binding on the people of all countries. This is the most prevalent view of Malikiy Madhab.” (Fat’hul Barry 5:601)
“A section of Scholars says that fasting is obligatory for those who get the information of the Hilal witnessed elsewhere. This is the view expressed by Imam Shafi and Ahmad. I understand this is the view of Imam Malik and Imam Abu Haneefa.” (Al mi’yar Vol.1, page 416).
“The witnessing will be binding only on the people of the country in which the witnessing is confirmed except that it is confirmed with the Grand Imam, then it will be binding on all of them because in his sight all countries are like one country. Then his decree will be executed all over.” (Fathul Barry 5: 601, Bidaya 1: 228).
      Prophet's action ?
      =====
      Narrated AbuUmayr ibn Anas:
AbuUmayr reported on the authority of some of his paternal uncles who were Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ): Some men came riding to the Prophet (ﷺ) and testified that they had sighted the new moon the previous day. He (the Holy Prophet), therefore, commanded the people to break the fast and to go out to their place of prayer in the morning - Sunan Abi Dawud 1157 (Book 2, Hadith 768)
There is another Hadith below in that the prophet commanded to break the fast and to proceed to the place of prayer for Eid on the same day.
On the authority of a man from the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ): People differed among themselves on the last day of Ramadan (about the appearance of the moon of Shawwal). Then two bedouins came and witnessed before the Prophet (ﷺ) swearing by Allah that they had sighted moon the previous evening. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded the people to break the fast. The narrator Khalaf has added in his version: "and that they should proceed to the place of prayer for Eid)". - ( Sunan Abi Dawud 2339 Book 14, Hadith 27)

MA lets see if you are Muslim who believe in truth and Quran and Sunnah then I will prove it. 1516 to 1925 all of your Shaitaan Madhab all 4 of them did not pray Namaz Bhind each other and each had their Own Imam in Kaaba and each will do their own jamaat. I really hope that you don't run and just say did I lie? 2nd there is a Hadees in Musnand Ahamd Number 326 which is prophecy from Rasool ullah PBUH him that don't there are 4 paths of shaitaan so don't join them instead stay on one path of his Quran and Sunnah. One wounder why Rasool Ullah PBUH mentioned 4 why not 2 or 3 for understanding why he dres 4. Thus in 1400 of Islamce history 25% of the time 400 years these 4 Shaitaans ways (Hanfi, Maliki, Hambali, Shafi) and divided Kaaba for Namaaz..
Don't run brother if your are Muslim. Tell me where did I lie.

@abdullah_ahmed_ Let me give you a recent example. IN USA 2 Masques both are exactly 8 mins drive from my house. Both run by Hanfi Sect. Both of them started Ramdahan on a different day. Even Hanfi sect don't have unity..u all call each other Kafir bit each u are astray coz u have been dividing Muslims until now.
Do you need any other proof that they are 4 shataans. Who have only divided Muslims since their creation. Which Madhab other than Islam was Rasool ullah and Sahab were on? You would say Quran and Sunnah, and that's my Madhab.
      Don't run, brother

@@Farhan_Chohan83 Their madhab was based on quran and sunnah. If the madhab was not based on quran and sunnah or against sharia maybe that's from shaitan.. hanafi sect mosque both started Ramadan from different days that's not a problem because people have evidence from quran and sunnah and based on the evidence their understanding of Islam and opinions are also different from one person to other even from the time of sahaba. You think that's a problem than you are wrong. Who understood the quran and sunnah amongst the Muslim ummah obviously the sahaba. Then the tabiyeen and tabe tabeyieen which were including imam abu hanifa, imam malik, imam shafi, etc. They tried their best to gather knowledge of quran and sunnah give decisions based on it.. As a Muslim everyone of us have to give decisions based on quran and sunnah so whose answer will you accept?? Definitely from the imam who have more knowledge.. you go to him and ask for solutions of your problem.. he will answer it. The more intelligent the imam is the more accurate his answer will be.. again there are so many imams in this world you will find the answer of the same questions will also be different... common sense their study intelligence knowledge everything may differ from one person to other.. you can't say this imam will divide the ummah based on their unique answer.. that will be wrong.. again and again if you follow their answers you kind a following their madhab. So among the great imam of fiqh we follow Imam abu Hanifa or imam malik, etc. We believe their knowledge of islam are best among the ummah. Because they work hard on this gathering of knowledge. so we are following them.. again among the same madhab opinions again may differ little bit among the students.. so the main thing here is the judgment or opinion is based on quran, sunnah, ijma and qiyas or not. Their are many things to explain about madhab which is not possible for me to explain to you everything deeply. I believe you should do research about it and increase your knowledge. I hope i tried my best explaining the importance of madhab in Islam to you.. forgive me if I fail.. jazakallahu khairun.
