Messi isn't just a good player, hes a good teammate, all these players are growing and improving at an incredible rate by being alongside him.
he's a wild man!
It's inspired learning. They are playing with a legend
He elevates the people around him.
Ah yeah, we really see that blossom at minute-Mark 1:40. I'm think that's cool.
At his ripe old football age, it’s great to see him enjoying his football proper, doesn’t have to prove anything, but letting his skills flow on the pitch…
He's sleep walking 😂
The space they give Messi in the MLS is insane! MLS defensive tactics look like tactics from the 1980’s.
Messi will score so many goals in this league.
I've watched football for at least 10 years and I've never seen this before. It's incredible. 🤣🤣🤣
🤦🏻♂OMG Mr. Coach tackle Messi, pls show us how it's done since none of the elite defenders know what they're doing!!! I know it's in U.S., but I still say they give him space because they HAVE to?...they're trying their best to 'contain him', rather than get burned by him. Messi CREATES space especially after fools like you rush in. Did you JUST START watching? Watch enough games when they try to close in or tackle, and you'll learn what I mean. And...
and partly because he controls and passes the ball better than anyone on the earth and when fools like you rush in, he's already seen 3 options ahead, either gotten around you, or draws 2 of you in and makes play to Taylor or some other void you left open, or just left you behind him because you couldn't contain or tackle him, now he found the play downfield that you allowed and now it's a breakaway. Smart dude you are. He SEES ahead. You only see rushing in on the best ball handler on earth to accomplish what no one has been able to . SMH "they're giving him too much space" Yeah okay dudes 🤦🏻♂ They are pro defenders. Easier said than done.
@@rono33 I have watched Messi for years, specially his time at Barcelona. In Europe they don’t give you that much space. These MLS defenses remind me of the worst defenses in Spain when Barca would regularly win 8-0.
@@romanrojas8588 I hear you the MLS is a step down I’ll give you that.
1) i agree the defense in the video is horrendous
2) It was atlanta and they are the worst defensive team in the league and it wasnt even starting 11 (Leagues Cup game)
3) the 2nd team was Crul Azul from MX
messi has yet to play an MLS game...
Can you imagine being one of Messi's team mates? Everyday you get to witness greatness!
I think they are on cloud nine
now imagine if it was CR7 .... they would droll completely over him!
With Ronaldo they will see the biggest ego with no knee caps and still sacrificing his time with his family to keep his knees working lol numb nut
@@josfur1977No their team would lose every time if it was penaldo 😂
and they get paid to do it
Messi's skills are truly out of this world! It's amazing to see how he's raising the bar and inspiring the entire MLS to step up their game. His presence is definitely making the league even more exciting and competitive!
Consider this, this is an old man in the sport... a veteran. For him, this is as if he is playing on the playgrounds. Imagine him in his peak years. He would make the MLS look like as if he was playing against the woman's team.
He hasn't even played a league game yet.
It’s good to see all spectators over there loves him instead what he faced in paris.
They adore him! It’s total “Messi Mania” over here in Miami!
Paris fans suck
Looks like Taylor and Messi understand each other pretty well on the field. Great synergy.
They are playing against semi-amateurs in a country where they play baseball and call football "soccer". Big deal.
Fr and also martinez
These guys need to step up their game, Leo looks like is playing against kids
Yeah
😂😂😂😂😂😂
As well as Busquests
He did that in the Spanish league too. Sometimes champions league
What do you expect from MLS
But he is not showing off...he is simply showing 'em how to get the job done
Put someone else in his position and they will score, too. You people are pop culture educated and hype these athletes beyond their actual due credit, which is much less.
He is no more than mediocre.
Grow some brains, people.
They obviously give him more than they have anyone else before. His team won ONE world cup and his fans and white media call him goat. Dimwitted world.
Watching Messi play for Miami brought tears of joy to my eyes!
@@Guilherme-vl4ul the paramater was the World Cup, 7 months ago. Yes he still playing.
@@Guilherme-vl4ul well, then show me the case of another middle-aged star that did it so well in the MLS without training after vacation
Enjoy it my man, as long as you can. This might be the best player to watch for decades to come.
He is having fun and enjoying the game again. And when Messi is having fun at what he does best, watch out!
It is wonderful to see that smile and that energy at work again!
Magic Messi and his lovely family!❤❤❤❤❤🎉
The other Teams come to watch Messi play instead of playing themselves but then, we all LOVE Messi! 😊❤
He sincerely feels at home here in Miami! ❤
He is on a whole different level then these fellas. Always liked his style of play. In control of his emotions and picks apart mistakes made by defenses and goes for the kill. Amazed at how muscular he is at his age. You look at the thighs on soccer players and you know where their power comes from. An they are aerobic monsters.
@@PeterPi-wt2uc let's join him.
Watching this makes me respect Messi as a player even more because you can see the pure joy he gets from playing, and from making the players around him better by being on the pitch. He truly loves the game and understands his place in the sport.
what makes me respect him far more than CR7 is the reaction after scoring a goal.
CR7 is celebrating his own genius,
Messi is celebrating with the player, who passed the ball to him for the goal.
@@belegur8108 great point. Agree as well.
the richest..getting millions for doing the things he loves
I just cant believe we have Messi in the MLS. The league just got the GOAT to play with them.
Hats off to Taylor and Martinez. Finally some guys who can adapt and utilize a player like Messi. Rip to Pirlo at NYFC
0:44 Genius. The reflexes to bounce the ball over the defender like that; seemed very deliberate.
Truly a pivotal moment for soccer in the US. Game changer. #MoreThanAGameItsALifestyle
Sharing love of the game through his passion, purpose, and play.
Never say soccer again
We’ve sent you the GOAT, if he can’t make you realise this is the best sport in the world then nothing will.
I don't care about what sport is "best". Soccer can be awesome without taking anything away from all other sports. After all, they're literally different. So it's apples-to-oranges. Let's just all enjoy and have fun.
It might take Americans a few years to realize, Messi is NOT HUMAN, and why he IS the GOAT!
he is no goat... farm goat at best... overrated big time

NO words for this Magician..feeling blessed i live in the same era as he and i enjoyed him all these years..ty
Messi coming to play football in America, is a big holiday for him . With his ability and the down grade in league standard. This is an easy assigment for him. America are very lucky to have Messi on board and to be able to witness his brilliance. He is putting the spotlight wordwide on american football. A master-stroke by inter miami to lure Messi. If Messi can avoid injury american football will move in leaps and bounds.
Yeah well I remember when Pele Beckenbauer Cruyff played in US , and that was 40 years ago . Only the womans National improved .
Pele did the same thing
@@jonaswhale6451 How much do you think this is because of lesbians?
The logical step for him would have been the English prem but he is scared to go there and not bang in 50goals a season as it might tarnish his legend. He could have at least gone to Germany as it is a very competitive league but he wanted to look good playing with teams 10 levels below him. Shame really, would have been awesome watching him play top level football again. He hasn't played against top level footballers in a long time.
Why should ,he is not going to take any serious assignments now,he won the World Cup,now he is just playing for fun and money,we want him to play in medium level league without getting injured
We absolutely need better commentators for MLS now that we have the GOAT!! Messi is magic and the commentators are so weak articulating and helping the crowds feel exactly how great the moments are that are occurring before them!!! The MLS commentators focus on the facts of what the audience already saw with their eyes. It takes someone as special as Ray Hudson, or Peter Drury to deliver the perfect emotion for the situation to the audience. MLS and U.S. television networks currently employs amateur level commentators. Now that MLS has Messi, It’s clear that there is great interest for elite European players to come to the USA to play in MLS, so we need commentators that will keep them coming!!! Our television networks need to step up the quality of our television network soccer commentators!!!
Augustin55555 You are witnessing the corruption and human rights violations of the media friend. Yes the commentators in MLS are trash. MLS, LLC is corrupt. I love the sport and I'm sad it's not as popular in the USA, but I know Messi will inspire the entire nation to get better just by his greatness, it's already happening now, and I think that will be his greatest gift to us.
They said he can only play for Barcelona , surrounded by great players, so he chose a team that is rock bottom

The majority of the highlights here wouldn't be aired in a typical news broadcast in Europe (especially in Spanish or the UK's Premier League). Yet, Messi remains with his feet on the ground and does his best (which is a sign of how a great player is!). He has the ability to push football in the US to unprecedented heights of popularity - and if this happens and the US starts dealing seriously with the sport, many things may happen (OK, not today and probably not tomorrow, but in the long run, who knows?).
PS: That Robert Taylor guy seems a well-promising player, I think he's got the potential to do things in Europe. Having Messi on his side will be the teaching of a lifetime!
(He, Messi, has the ability to push football in the US to unprecedented heights in popularity) I think that was the idea of Mr Beckham. Wonder how many new fans the MLS now has. Messi is a powerful influence he will demand the best players from the MLS. Imagine a CL with South Americans where any team can drop to the equivalent of Europa League.
I agree. Having Messi here will help spark more interest in the sport, especially the kids where it has to start. If Americans are going to compete at all in the upper leagues of this sport we need more, Zlatans, Rooney's, and Messi's to come here to show the league the way it needs to be done. That will inspire the kids to be another Pulisic. We have several players overseas; few are of the caliber they need to be to compete seriously or long term in those leagues. So, having a player from the upper leagues and also incredibly skilled ones at that, it is only going to improve our chances of getting into that realm. This is all long-term thinking. At least a decade out at a minimum. That is only if they keep attracting these ultra skilled players to the MLS.
@@larrymorris1718 you got the point! Getting world class superstars with a huge impact on the young ones is the first step; it will make the sport popular. Working with the younger generation of players and gaining experience is the second. I have stated many times that if the States focus really on developing football (this is football-nobody uses the soccer term in Europe!), then the sky is the limit!! It will take time, for sure, but for the methodically planning and working US sport authorities, is feasible! It’s in US hands! :))
World class players like Messi and Ronaldo are thin on the ground. I agree with everything you said, I'm really pleased that football is gaining more momentum in USA. Glory Glory Manchester United All the best.
@@larrymorris1718Thing is football in the USA doesn’t really work like it does everywhere else, the chances of finding a “Messi” are already extremely rare but then you have to add on the all of the American prerequisites… ie your parents money. Sure they can buy a bunch of good foreign players. They’re NEVER going to find the top American talents. A lot of the time these kids are found by random chance. Where I come from that poverty stricken kid outside all day on the concrete, his only possessions are a ball and the shoes on his feet, always has that chance. They could be playing outside and by random chance a scout drives by and sees them playing, and changes their entire families lives forever. That’s never going to happen in the USA. Rich kids only. Like everything else. You’ll never ever EVER find your Messi. Which is really sad. Why do you think the MLS is laughed at globally. All of the American talents had their parents pay $2k per lesson. This is not football. The gods come from the concrete.
The MAGICIAN! He's not human! Love it. I saw him in the 100th Anniversary of the Copa America in the USA for the 1st time - Messi scored 4 goals in less than 30 mins! GOAT!

What a player. Now i been watching mls because if messi:)
He is visually developing us soccer kids are watching and they see what they can do with a little intelligence
That first shot from Messi is equivalent to throwing a basketball off the backboard and doing a nasty dunk 😱
3 goals of the 🐐
2: right foot
1 : left foot free kick
Now imagine Miami with an actual striker? That would be like 10-0 in all matches. The amount of goals missed is absolutely astonishing, is like when I play with my 4 and 5 yo nephews they trip an fall with the ball.
Brilliant player of all times
He is ready for the rebound, thats the hallmark of a great player
Plot twist - he played it off the post to beat the tackles
@@miketexas4549 The post was offside
And he scored two glorious goals yesterday against orlando!
Messi looks happy, looks like he is just simply enjoying playing the game that he loves. You can see the difference in the way he looks here compared to the World Cup only months ago. He looks younger and healthier, he looked older and stressed out during the World Cup as he was under enormous pressure to bring it home for Argentina. He has nothing to prove, just playing the game he loves.
FIFA gifted him the World Cup.
@@MrGrabichShhhhh dont do that bruh some Messi meat riders will jump on you because they think Messi carried that alone.

A God playing against mere mortals!
Glad to be alive and watch this man Play
What a combo with the post for the first goal!
Must be a joy to play with this guy.
But it shows the level MLS is at with the way Messi has so much space to roam and do what he likes.
The MLS has really good wingman and strikers. There defensive and Mid-field players have a lot to be desired, compared to the top-flight leagues. Having Messi in the league will definitely start to bring that up. Defenses are going to have to move forward in skill levels. This is an aging player that has tremendous skills still. The MLS is going to have to adjust. Meaning they will likely start bringing defenders from the upper leagues here also, mostly for teaching purposes. Coaches will also start migrating over from the upper leagues. That can only be good for the MLS and its future.
What makes Messi better than most is his reading of the game and field positioning
espero poder ver jugar a Messi con Suarez y Ramos 😍
That dude would embarrass any team, his the goat
It feels like a fever dream to see Messi in MLS
What did people expect was going to happen?
It's the equivalent of taking any top-tier athlete and dropping them down a league, let alone one of the best players to ever play the game.
Dude, he's only played against ONE MLS team so far!
Y también les va a enseñar humildad, en todos sus años de carrera nunca se ha peleado 😊
Messi is also helping his teammates. Who knew Taylor? All of sudden, Taylor's name became well-known. LOL
From a Catalan Culé, how can’t we be not happy to see Messi still smashing it and so loved.
Thank you Inter Miami for treating him so well.

Messi makes this sport so much fun to watch man his good thanks to david bekan his playing in mls let’s just enjoy it please
Messi brings a Michael Jordan vibe to this team. All the guys around him are playing better with him. It’s like they can feel a championship is a reality for them now.
God bless messi ❤
I wouldn't say that Messi is embarassing the MLS; I'd say that he is lighting it up. Congrats to David Beckham et al. This will lift the entire game in the US.
mls is on break...2nd team was from Liga MX
Def is
David Beckham is so happy to watch Leo play and so satisfied for having hired him for Inter...!
Bro had an apparently easy time with Cruz Azul too, and last i checked, they're not in the MLS... Maybe (could be) there's something uniquely Blessed about that player's soccer ability (journeying talent-unlocking hard work...) that makes it look like it's easy when playing against others (a friend a while back once said, "it takes hard work... to get to a position where you can make things look easy..." And perhaps it's not an indictment on others as much as it is a reflection of how awesomely Blessed the bro is...
Also, technically, he's now part of the MLS, so it's just as much an indirect compliment to the MLS, in addition to how playing with, along side and even against him would presumably complement the development of the league as a whole...
Saya berharap Lionel Messi dan King Ronaldo tidak pernah pensiun sebagai pesepakbola dunia agar pacuan kuda dari kedua GOAT selalu hadir dalam sepakbola dunia.
There's nothing to be embarrassed as the MLS is going through the time of developing the world of football! Definitely there will come a time when the level of football in US will be at par to those in Europe, England, South America!!😊

there aint any "best soccer teams" because soccer doesn't exist... only football

@@kasivallu9288 Yeah sadly
@@kasivallu9288 You're wrong. He's correct. Most players start dropping their stats at 30 years old, become irrelevant at 32, move on to China, US, etc. Extremely rare to see players in top form in their 35s. Ronaldo, Messi, Modric, even Benzema, are the exception to the rule. But no one would ever argue that Ronaldo at 35 was comparable to Ronaldo when he was 30. Messi likewise. They were good at 35, but they were just godlike at 30.
If Messi came to Miami when he was 30, people would not enjoy his performance, and so on. They would actually become mad at the dude, just completely humilliating them, like calling them all noob amateurs by just playing and doing his thing.
Hopefully his presence improves the quality of the MLS . The best American players play in Europe now and in my soccer friends don’t won’t MLS players on the US team . If Messi can change that and increase the pay level so the MLS can attract the best American and Foreign players he will have accomplished a huge upgrade of the sport in the US .
