Easy to get lost…but in the end I do love involved, complicated patterns like this. SO worth the effort, and at times - the struggle - when the result is such a gorgeous garment. Everyone in town is amazed at it’s beauty (I chose my yarns with great care), and surprised I didn’t pay $150.00 for it off the rack at some fancy boutique! Mikey, you are the Yoda of complex crochet tutorials…I truly would have been forever lost with only a written pattern to guide me. Thank you so much for this gorgeous creation.❤️🔥💖💗
Thank you for a very easy to follow tutorial. I can’t believe how popular these crocheted ponchos and shawls are! My friends all want one and I’m happy to keep my fingers busy when I travel. I’m a sewer when I’m home. But have taken up crocheting again thanks to the awesome video tutorials.😉
Thank you so much for the work you put in for us! I love this. I have an Aunt who is going through some horrific health trials right now and she gets cold easy. This is perfect. Thank you!! Also, love the Tweed and variegated. Perfect!
Had to mega adjust the count to make it fit and used a single crochet reducing every 10th stitch every other row until I got the size opening I liked. I love it and have already worn it out n about! Thank you for the wonderful pattern and instrucions
Hi Mikey I really like your videos you explain things very easy something that is complicated you make it simple I just want to let you know you are awesome teacher
I wish this video was linked to the pattern on the website. I read the cluster stitch all wrong, so my poncho is heavier but similar. I'm glad to find this now because I was even more confused about the fan edge. This was really helpful. Interesting that this pattern was listed as "easy" and "beginner" because it really is a bit difficult.
I did the lg/xl size. Fits me perfectly...except I had to decrease sc every stitch of the first round of neckline, lol. I chose the light tweed and the baby pink party yarns and it looks gorgeous!
I've had lots of luck using double strands to improve my satisfaction with yarns that look nice as a skein but don't work up as I like. Usually I use a grey yarn to tone down the patterned yarn, cut I'll try a tweed next time. Love this look!
I needed this video for the scalloped part. I saw it on a vest that I wanted to make but couldn't figure out how the edging was done... Now, I do. Thanks...
I just made this. Did the 183 chains in the correct size hook. did 22 inches as advised. Folded as per the video and its ended up long and thin, not like this video at all. Can someone advise what i'm likely to have done wrong as i really dont want to undo it all and start again. Thanks
Hi I love your work and how you explain everything it's very helpful to me thank you very much. Do you have a Newsboy hat with a brim pattern ? If so where? Thank you in advance
***Update on second poncho - I thought I must have done something wrong in the first one as the neck was way too big and off the shoulder. Made #2 making sure to follow the pattern/video exactly and the same thing. So, I added 5 SC rows around the inside of the neck with decreases so it lays flat before doing the finishing edge. It looks really nice with the more rounded neckline since the scalloped edges are also round. Original post - Beautiful pattern and awesome instructions, thank you! I made the medium with 2 colors of solid simply soft and used only a small amount of the last of 3 balls of each color. I think there's enough left to make a matching hat.
Hello. I have a question...will it be possible to use 1 strand only throughout the pattern? Using 2 yarns will make it thicker and I'm living on the hotter part of the world but loving the design and would like to make one.
A friend asked me to do poncho for her. She bought the yarn, very stick one.. She wants a large cowl and long poncho. Well.. I did the cowl but now I am stuck on this project. I don't want to do a stiff and heavy poncho. What should I do? Yarn is chunky softer chunky big bulk grey and white. What project you would suggest. Pls? Tks
2 x 1 Cluster Stitch (multiple of 3 sts +2; 2-row repeat) That is the pattern for the cluster stitch. To adjust a pattern requires math 😫 lol. You'll need to add to the large cast on an amount you need to equal the length you need. So say you need 4 clusters more you'll add in 12 cast ons. I hope that makes sense.
I made the XL size and it was very bunchy around my neck and shoulders and didn't sit right. I gave it away. It is a beautiful pattern but the dimensions are too small for me.
Mikey is it? When I Got this pattern it said it was for beginners, but I'm a beginner and I connotations you or the pattern! You started slow and then toward themed races through it! You also assume a beginner would know what you are doing but I dont! Is there anyone Elizabethan help me make this poncho? I've gotten To The long where it's 2I she's and inspectors it, but I can't figure outboard that! PleAse show it agai n or full size. I'm get frustrated! Help!!!!

Thank you for this. I read the pattern but couldn’t make head or tail of it and this video explains it so much better. Love it x

I actually like that you used the double strand on camera. Thank you for another great video.
I enjoy seeing the same yarns of the patterns
I'm not much of a poncho person, but this is pretty enough that I'm seriously considering making one. Great job!
I am so excited and grateful that you did a tutorial on this - thank you - the variated yarn is gorgeous
This is a dream come true. I love ponchos, but never can find one I really liked, until now. The color combo you chose is PERFECT!!
Seeing reverse crochet for the first time, it's so cool 😍

Hi Mikey, love the color combination and the design! The scallops are fantastic!
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial.
Lovely. I will try it. You inspired me.
How beautiful 💖, I hope to knit one like it. Greetings from Mexico 😊👍
You can do it! Just give it a try.
Never heard of a reverse single crochet. Can’t wait to try. If you hadn’t demo’d this pattern I would never be able to do it from the pattern.
Beautiful work love it.

I love using 2 strands for unique color and texture affects. With Furl k.

I’m looking forward to do this one! Thank you for the clear explanation 🥰🧶
Reverse crochet gives a beautiful edge, 👍

Hello. I have a question...will it be possible to use 1 strand only throughout the pattern? Using 2 yarns will make it thicker and I'm living on the hotter part of the world but loving the design and would like to make one.
I am doing mine right now with a single strand of yarn. I live in the middle east where it is very hot.
Great demo! Thank you.😊
If I want to do with 1 strand and not as holy what do you suggest for hook size? If I do 2 strands what hook
Thank you 🙏🏽 very much excellent 👌👍I will make it🙏🏽👌👍
Hi Mikey I love this poncho, but I don't want to do it double yarn is that ok ?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so cute!!!!!!!!
I have a thicker bulkier yarn I am trying to use up. Would doing this with one strand work?
very nice
Crocheted all of the 18" only the get absolutely lost in what ends go where on the fold part.
Can someone help!
Thanks for saying the person wrote it wrong. I was reading it and thinking the same thing.
If she wants a point front and back how would that be done?
How many yards were used?

Can you do this using a thicker single yarn?
In the video you use a 6.5 hook How do you adjust the chain number if you're using a bigger hook. I want to use a 10mm hook
Do you have a book of all the patterns you show? I have limited access to the internet and I want to look up the patterns without internet
Can you please do tutorial for a cape?
Can you give me a link on Yarnspirations.com on which one you are thinking of?
@@TheCrochetCrowd Can you make one similar to the cape made by a youtuber, coricobell?
how would I do a 2 x size
Very attractive *
I wish you would have zoomed out when you did the connecting. I’m having a very hard time getting it right.
Darnit... Hindsight is always 20-20.
What color ombré yarn are you using? Can’t find a beige ombré ?
How to maintain size of ponchu
Hi, I am from Singapore, tough to get Caron yarns here, anyone has any good substitutes?
Wow
Going to make this that darning needle is a no no I had one and I threw it away thank you Mikey.
If I wanted to make it bigger (2XL/3XL) how many would I need to chain?
2 x 1 Cluster Stitch (multiple of 3 sts +2; 2-row repeat)

The only issue about making it bigger is that you need to make it bigger by 1 shell on the bottom. You'd have to make it bigger by the scallop edging

Can you please explained better on how to fold the poncho together.. I croched the rectilinear.
donna albanese I believe there is a schematic in the pattern. That might help you better to visualize.
thank you what the amount of thread
In the beginning he said total of 6 Caron simply soft but unsure if he means 6 of each color since he's holding 2 colors together
Nice

So sorry the predictive text messed my words up! But I need help!
You need to show the neck how to. doesn't makes sense on how to shape neck. I've been crocheting for 45 yrs and I'm not getting it.
