These are fun, I was a spotter for my buddy in one of these last year and it was harder than I thought it would be. Dodging cones is a whole different ball game when you’re used to just trail riding lol

Heck yeah! Winner Winner in this part 1 video. On to winning part 2! The weather a couple days ago put a damper on our rock crawling shenanigans. The river was too high.
Man last time we were out there my but got wet crossing it.
@@WRECKEDGEARGained valuable seat time today. Bombed south down Black Cayon OHV trail with 15 rigs. Hit Lower Terminator. It a was Jeep Jamboree USA event I attended yesterday and today. Wet trail made life interesting. The v-notch looked cool with water flowing thought it.

On backups, you make the most for the move.
What I've done in competing is to use rocks as pivot points for front digs, rear digs, gravity side slips, etc. As a spotter, you are allowed to use rocks to help with climbs and control. As a spotter, yah, cones are deadly. You place a rock and while driving through the cones, it gets dislodged and touches cone, its a touch. Thus have them on the downhill side for the effect.

Man I wish we could have done even better. but it was a huge challenge competing, filming and I under estimated how busy we were even though we do 4 courses. But hey we got some decent stuff cuz jess hustled and we had a blast.

Come out and do it. There is classes for everyone. Everyone explained things and helped me out my first time. Felt very comfortable around like minded people.

@derrelsharman Yeah its pretty rad! the second you get on coarse you like family with all the other drivers and they take care of each other like crazy. You should definitely get out there and giver her a go!.

So awesome to watch first hand . We were there Sunday and saw you guys but you were spotting and videoing. My stomach got the best of me and stood inline for like 45 min to get a 🌭. Then we watched the big boys get crazy. Virgil and you were killing it. We are going to try and make it to Farmington.

Well done boys! This video shows that competing in Werock can be fun for anyone. Cool seeing you guys figure out the strategy over the 4 courses. Put a window net on that rig and come play with us in Pro Modified!
I'm pretty hardcore about my trail wheeling and thought that I would never have any interest in comp. Buddy Virgil talked needed a spotter to wheel and it only made sense because We wheel so often together and know our wheeling sty that I should jump in. Turns out comping is pretty fun man. way different but it is cool having to compare points and making moves due to needing point game and all the strategy. Also I feel like it makes you a better wheeler having to not back up or stay between cones. I would for sure like to do it again or even get my car out on the pro corse.
@@WRECKEDGEAR Your blue rig would do great in the Pro trail class. You definitely have a handle on how read the terrain and be able to explain it clearly to the viewers. For me, competing pressure makes it exciting in the moment and "turns the volume" down on scary/stressful situations trail wheeling.

Amazing video!!! Congratulations on the first round of competition. I wish this video was available last year. I entered my first amateur rock crawling competition at Sand Hollow last year with Jason from w3 as my spotter. The competition didn't go so smoothly at the beginning but by the end we were having a blast. I wish we could have seen this video ahead of time so then maybe we wouldn't not have look like total newbies lol. You guys make me want to try another competition. Well keep up the amazing videos and I am looking forward to the next one.
Definitely come out and try again. Good to have more people out participating. You get better by doing it and keep it fun. Can’t lose that way.

@james957171 You should for sure get back out there and give it another go. I took it way to seriously the first 2 runs. then just focused on having fun and hitting rad lines, then everything got way more fun and easy.

Just remember hitting a cone is +10 and backups are only +1, so take the backup if needed cause 9 backups is still better then hitting a cone

Here in Scandinavia / Europe spotter sit in the vehicle or if buggy is single seater there is no spotter. no external help allowed
That's awesome!!! I think that should be a rule here also. It makes sense. if you don't have a second seat then you can have a passenger. If you cant carry a passenger then you shouldn't be able to have a passenger as a tool.

We did the first coarse with them. But due to wheeling on the trail all the time with no radios we ditched them because we are more used to just hand signaling and yelling at each other lol. But you can use them.

Kolbee has been missing some of the events due to us not having a dedicated seat for her and the events we have been going to are long hard days that we don't want to leaver her in the camper alone. She is now getting older and we have Killik who is pretty much the best body guard we could ask for. so she will be coming to more and more big events.
