GIVE MIKE A BADGE - he boldly went where no Sorted member (at least on camera) has ever gone before.
How about a minimalist badge?
Please give Mike a badge!!
including ebbers
Badge for Mike or RIOT!!
@@NathanMN Why are you replying with the exact same statement on every comment about mike deserving a badge? He did a great job. You can agree to disagree but you don't need to reply to every comment about it
Mike deserves a badge for attempting and succeeding at something that Ben hasn't approached yet.
100% Mike did something that ebbersc hadn't even considered in a way that he hadn't thought of
Or maybe a research badge for looking up and successfully applying techniques untaught?
Mike was robbed here!
I thought he failed that particular part of the dish?
@@SahalRehman no, the only thing he failed at was tempering the chocolate. The water ganache and the white chocolate olive oil sauce appear to have been successes
Mike did 2 things that not even Ebbers had done before and pulled them off. Even if the tempered chocolate was a flop, that's gotta be worth a badge of some sort.
How about a minimalist badge?
#mikewasrobbed
After more than a decade of doing this, Ebbers is still very strongly biased towards Barry. The things he said he likes the most about the pasta dish were the thing he told Berry to do. If he had made the exact same type of suggestion to mike during the competition instead of being snarky about it afterwards, Mike would have faired better. And yes, Ebbers doesn't like anyone showing him up so when a normal completes things he's never heard of or tried to do before, he pouts and doesn't give them the appropriate credit :(
@@chandrawong449 well, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt considering that we're only seeing 16 minutes of what could have been like 2 hours of total filming so lots might have been cut out for the sake of time.
@Evi1 M4chine It's really not though.
How can it be that hard, if as Mikey boi himself said "I saw it on tiktok and thought I'll give that a go".
You know why Ben hasn't bothered trying a a water-chocolate mix? Because he's not a lunatic on a "health track", cutting out dairy in the form of milk/cream, but then adding MILK CHOCOLATE to the dish.
Mike was all over the place with his vision of the dish, Barry made seafood mix and got a badge because Ben told him to char the tomato skins and Jamie once again outperformed the other two but is somehow only second on badges.
If you wanna talk about unfair treatment, then complain when Jamie gets shafted despite being the best normal now.
Mike should've gotten a technique badge for that successful water ganache imo. Great video as always thoughhh
Agree!
Ebbbberrrssss! Official call with Olivia to consider that technique badge for Mike please! 🙂
But the tempered chocolate though
Came her to say this. I usually agree with Ebbers but Mike really deserved this badge imo.
He probably would have, if he'd used espresso instead of water in it (or espresso and water mixed), and stuck the landing on the tempering. He managed one technique, and failed another.
I don't usually comment, but I agree with everyone else―Mike deserved a badge on this one.
I always feel Mike tends to get done over in these challenges, because he tends to pick things which are tricky rather than showy and then tends to suffer, while Barry and Jamie are probably better at managing to pick things which they can execute to look and taste good and which are fairly low risk in the grand scheme of things. Still think he deserves a badge for managing to make an edible water ganache, because even if the idea isn't his, the execution is evidently quite hard.
Mike also consistently sticks to the rules/parameters of a challenge. Ebbers (and James) never actually "punish" the boys for not following the rules; I know it's just a fun UA-cam show, but still.
Mike is the most ambitious and creative of the normals. Jamie is the least creative, but he has most skills and knowledge, but Mike is also quite strong in techniques.
Mike should just get the Ambition badge.
@@Sletchman Yeah and I do dislike how Ben just, ignores Jamie so much. Acts surprised when he does well. It's very much explain away what Barry does, while helping him, make fun of Jamie, then make it seem like Mike failed horribly when he still makes something that is delicous but isn't perfect.
Mike deserve a badge!! Yes I am a chocoholic but still only four ingredients and techniques that Ben have never done. The dessert looks amazing!
How about a minimalist badge?
But it wasn't really creative. A chocolate tart is very very common.
@@Khazandar I mean, if we go by that, so's seafood pasta....
Mike was robbed! He definitely deserved a badge! 2 techniques that hadn’t been done before on the channel and both worked! Barry’s looked delicious but it was very much a safe dish to make.
It’s so heart warming to see everyone standing up for Mike. Sorted community at its best.
MIKE NOW DESERVES 2 BADGES - Creativity Badge and Community Backed Badge.
Let's make this a THING!!!
Absolutely!!
And Ambition badge. He frequently wants to make the most ambitious dishes.
Barry makes a dish that he regularly makes at home and gets a creativity badge, Mike attempts and succeds with something new and enticing for him and gets the short end of the stick.... Math checks out?
Mike 100% deserves a badge. Overall dessert isn't creative but the choices in execution were, especially since ebbers hasn't tried some of the techniques
"Oh, that compound butter might be a cheat, but it's ok, since you've made it before from leftovers"
>Ignores the mix of different seafood, because of course _that's_ one ingredient
Time to add my voice to this: Mike ABSOLUTELY deserves a badge for that water ganache.
agreed, I've always been told "chocolate and water don't mix"
Mike should have got a badge. He did 2 components that Ebbers had never done, that's got to be worth something
But is just copying a tik-tok/social media chef really creative?
agree
It was not creative usage of the ingredient at hand. Maybe you want to give him a badge for his effort but not the creativity one.
@@Ishlacorrin Is seafood pasta? I get your point, and if it is true that this is a trend recipe then fair enough (I am not in the social media game), but overall, I do think Mike's dish was easily the most creative of the three, albeit not his own creativity
@@Ishlacorrin Yes
Ben: “I want espresso.”
Mike: ”I want some f**king badges, Ebbers.”
Great note to end on 😂
Considering he used several techniques that Ebbers hasn’t ever attempted, Mike definitely deserves a badge!!
This is the first time in a while I’ve disagreed with your judgement Ben. Mike definitely deserved a creativity badge. He did things you yourself have admitted you’ve never done before or thought of trying and he succeeded on those parts (the ganache while truffle like was successful and you liked the white chocolate and olive oil. The only thing he didn’t quite do right was tempering chocolate which wasn’t one of the creative pieces). I would also argue it’s more creative than listening to you regarding frying tomato skins. And honestly, as someone that can’t eat chocolate, I would have wanted a slice of Mike’s dessert over the other two plates any day of the week. Like, I’m actually wanting to try making Mike’s now.
Mike should have gotten a badge especially since he managed to pull off the chocolate w/water ganache and the white chocolate w/olive oil.
The compound butter and the mixed fish defeats the purpose of trying to limit yourself to 5 ingredients.
Honestly I'd call it as Mike had creative technique with the water ganache, really impressive, while Jamie had relatively simple techniques, but very creative use of different ingredients, especially with that syrup.
He deserves a technique badge, but it's not a _creative_ technique to make a water ganache, it's an existing thing
Barry's butter was a full blown cheat. Mike deserves a badge for boldly going where no Ben has gone before.
Was glad to see Jamie win this one. When he found himself with extra time on his hands, he immediately went into F around and find out mode. If that isn't the heart of creativity, I don't know what is. Whether any individual experiment went on the plate in the end matters less than the actual experimentation.
HY==YES
Would have been great if they had shown us the results of those experiments individually
I think he added the caramel granola in the end
@@Roshasis he also made it like three types of granola
I love when Jamie looks into the camera and says “Will it work? I don’t know!”
This is probably the first one I've disagree with. I'm not sure how making ganache/truffle filling with water and white chocolate olive oil drizzle was not creative. The actual dish may not have been anything special but I think Mike showed great creativity.
Its standard to see a chocolate tart of some type in bakeries. Its like making birthday cake, everyone makes one, some aren't that great.
@@carrieullrich5059 but with milk. Not like what Mike did!
@@moonshiro its water. it doesnt add anything else to the dish though. it literally adds no flavor.
not his idea = not creative
@@fabiankunda1365 do you think no one ever did any of the stuff that Jamie or Barry did before? They used techniques that other people have used before to make something of their own. Which is what Mike did. Not like it's that big deal. It's an imaginary badge. It just seems to me like he was as creative as the others.
Jamie choosing to do dessert and absolutely nailing it was amazing. Honestly with how he was pitching his dish at first I had some serious doubts if he could pull it off, but he came through
You can really see how far Jamie and Mike have come since starting this channel.
I wouldn't say I was disappointed in Barry's dish, it looked great, but it seemed like something Barry could also have made 4 years ago.
Jamie and mike's on the other hand were fantastic.
Mike using really inventive techniques to achieve his idea, and Jamie experimenting and adapting mid battle, but still ending up with a very nuanced and we'll balanced dish, superb.
And he got away with the compound butter as one ingredient - AND Ben straight-up telling him to use the tomato skins.
@@chandrawong449 he didn't count the salt (or water) as ingredients, now maybe the water shouldn't count, but the amount of salt he added to the water was to season it and thus should count
ok, that's a weird comment. Mike literally crushed some biscuits up and then added chocolate and water. Sure he drizzled some white chocolate over it. Wow, what was everyone else watching?
Barry "Twenty minutes over time and not penalized for it" Taylor shouting at Jamie for an extra few seconds of grating is the most amazingly ironic thing.
After he used WAY more than 5 ingredients too. "Seafood" is NOT one ingredient. If that was the case Jamie could have used fruit as an ingredient. And wth was his butter? It had 5 herbs in it. Yes, compound butter is a thing but not when you're counting ingredients. Gets away with skirting the rules yet again.
Mike's dish is the most impressive and it was done with the least amount of ingredients. He deserves some sort of badge for what he did.
At this point I’m starting to believe that Ben enjoys denying Mike’s skills and depriving him of badges. It’s becoming ridiculous, Mike clearly deserved a badge today… are you holding a grudge over something Ebbers?
They never award Mike a badge even when his dish is better. He would have got a badge if he had espresso or dessert wine on the side? What kind of BS is that??
What gets me about that is it's clear from the way he introduced it that the reason he had four ingredients was so if he'd been wrong about oil being free he could still have his oil.
agree
So let me get this straight. Mike does two things that not even Ben (the trained Chef) hasn't done before but it's not enough for the creativity badge? Kinda feels a bit unfair
agree
agree
mike tried to re-create something he had seen on tiktok/social media, that's not creative that just copying something that someone already has done.
"Well, I saw it on tiktok and thought I'd try it" is NOT creative.
Mike just doesn't do creative, he copies better chefs, or more often than not ballses it up and complains about Jamie using heavy flavours.
@@Reinforce_Zwei when did he say that?
Barry calling out Jamie for continue to grate after the time has gone is rich hahah
He's gone like full minutes over time, he needs to get over it.
Not usually a commenter, but Mike ABSOLUTELY deserved a creativity badge for his dish. His techniques were creative!!!
Mike deserves a badge. He even had to verify that oil was free meaning that would have been his 5th ingredient so sure, espresso would have been great but coconut oil was originally going to be his 5th one. 🤷🏼♀️ I agree Jamie should be the overall winner but surely Mike deserves a badge for all of the reasons listed throughout the comments
So Barry gets a 5 ingredient badge for making a dish with 37 ingredients, and using ideas Ben gives him while he's cooking it. Also he gets to ignore time limits. Why even have competitions lol?
These challenges seem more about bashing Mike and occasionally Jamie then actually testing cooking technique. Barry cheated using herb butter and basically boiled pasta and reduced wine. At least Jamie and Mike tried to do some techniques.
He also cheated with the seafood bag and then failed to show any creativity.
Barry: (Time just ends) "STOOOOPPPP!"
Also Barry: (Time ended hours ago, keeps cooking and somehow still WINS challenge)
Love it when the normals decide to support each other in order to prove Ebbers wrong. 😂
It’s like always fighting with your siblings as kids, but ganging up against your parents as a united front.
And then all siblings get sent to their room without dinner.
Insurrections must be crushed.
@@Khazandar my parents weren’t great at divide and concur. So this never happened. Can’t recall what did though… 🤷🏼♀️
Tis is an amazing description
The water based ganache actually looked good. Mike followed some brilliant chocolatiers.
It really was a great idea 👏
That's code for "It didn't taste as good as it looked"
@@SortedFood but not more creative than some kind of unnecessary passionfruit granola deconstruction?
@@johnjungkook2721 ikr
So why no badge? Sorry Sorted, but he TOTALLY deserved the badge, unlike Barry.
I wanna see Ben give Barry's creativity badge to Mike. Like come on, a seafood MIX? Hardly one ingredient. Mike's use of new techniques was really impressive and Ben learned new techniques! Proud of you Mike. As for Jamie.... he can't do wrong, he's my fav lol
I absolutely love the moments when Mike is upset and frustrated...by far its one of the funniest moments.
But I disagree with Ben, Mike definitely was creative with his intentions and approach
Ebbers LOVES being that "I know something you don't" person... Would love to see other chefs come on and critique his work/award him badges, or factor into the "normals" badges as more unfamiliar/less biased participants. Guess what I'm saying is I miss James as a potential balancing point to Ebbers.
I feel like Barry's dish may technically meet the brief, but isn't in the spirit of the challenge. The herb butter is on the borderline, but when you are buying a mixed bag of seafood ingredients as the protein for the dish then surely to have circumvented the task
Not to mention he then showed absolutely no creativity.
Ah yes that famous ingredient seafood mix. They should try a one ingredient stew next all they need is stew mix. That one ingredient happens to have everything I need for a stew.
Yes, give that creativvity badge away from Barry and to Mike. The only thing that made Barry's dish creative was the squid ink.
Ah yes the dish with crushed biscuits and watery chocolate was so obviously better!
@@Montyh7 lolol i feel like im going crazy reading the other comments
I get the reasoning behind allowing the butter but it is kind like saying "I'm going to make beef wellington with only one ingredient" and that ingredient being a beef wellington.
If hed made the compound butter specifically for this challenge, disqualify it. But if he used something that was kuckung around, Id allow it.
I thoroughly enjoyed Jamie’s whole vibe this video. He seemed like he was having so much fun the whole time, and then to also win the battle- props to you Jamie!
Mike deserves a creativity badge and an innovation badge! He perfected a technique that ebbers has not even had the guts to try! Why does it seem like Ebbers gets distracted by one little thing and forgets all the amazing things that happened earlier.
I feel that these battles need to be on a more fair level. Barry cooked pasta and Mike had to temper chocolate. I feel like the one with the easiest dish almost always wins because they were easier to pull off. I mean that squid pasta looked great but there has to be a certain standard put in place.
Agree. I wish they had been given the same 5 ingredients and cooked at separate times so they couldn't see each other's dishes. I think that would be a better test of creativity.
In the category of creativity, Mike deserves that badge. Even if some of the details didn't work (which is why he didn't win the challenge), he pulled off two things that Ebbers hadn't even tried and didn't know how to do!
I feel so bad for Mike. He found two techniques not even Ebbers had tried before, he researched them, he managed to pull them off, and then he messes up with the tempered chocolate. Give the poor boy a badge, Ben!
Just wondering: should someone get a creativity badge when the judge gave them the idea for one of the creative elements in the dish?
The answer should be no
came to the comments to say Mike deserved a badge.... and there were so many others...... Give Mike A Badge! Either way, well done Mike! well done all, but Mike didn't get the credit he deserved!
One thing I've been noticing more and more: Mike's thoughtful, appreciative, and descriptive commentary about the flavours and elements of the other Normals' dishes. Love to see it.
Yes, you're right. It became a pressure to listen to that.
MIKE WAS ROBBED.
He clearly deserved the creativity badge.
Full stop.
Barry gets away with murder in some of these battles
Do you mean with his choice of ingredients?
@@SortedFood that's compound butter trick hmm
I'm starting to think that James was Sorted's soul and he left with it, An Ultimate battle with no intro, no costumes, no mucking about. It's all so clinical now.
I know. It's lost something that's for sure
Haven't seen a pass it on in ages that wasn't pay walled. Hard fucking luck if you don't live in a time zone to catch the paid ones or can't afford it. It's not the channel it used to be. Getting to the point where I might even stop watching.
@@clarissagafoor5222 James creativity, the new badge system creating a tryhard environment, all video ideas designed to push the app, trying to get their moneys worth out of the new food team so way more pre-prepared things as well.
@@nightshade7240 Ben doesn't like the PIO series, it goes against his planning pre-prepared style, more likely that James, always the more creative of the 2 was the one to push for them, they don't want to do it now really unless they can get a guest, use it to market their app, or make a load of ticket sales. It is starting to feel like it's stopped being a passion for them and become more of a business.
Sometimes it feels like the bar for Mike to get badges is so much higher than Barry and Jamie.
He could turn water into wine and miss out on a badge because its not the right vintage
I have to agree with the rest of the comments: Mike definitely deserved this badge, and it's far from the first time he's been "robbed" - whereas Barry, yet again, gets a free badge he didn't really deserve, after both cheating (FAR too many ingredients, both in the seafood mix and the compound butter), making by far the least creative dish (he made a fairly standard seafood pasta, except the pasta itself was black...), AND receiving help from Ben.
Mike should’ve been given a creativity badge for attempting something the others haven’t. He succeeded at the water chocolate thing, and the white chocolate and olive oil.
I think Mike deserved some sort of technique badge, especially for the white chocolate and olive oil which Ben liked and said he hadn't done. I will give Barry a pass on the seafood because he did buy it all as one, but the butter I am not sure because they said he made it. If he had bought it already made, I would say yes.
i know im in the majority here when i say this, but mike absolutely deserves a badge. successfully pulling off things ben hasn't even tried and making something that both looks and tastes delicious deserves its due reward!
C'mon, Ben!! Mike deserves to be awarded a badge!!
1. He made a tart that was beautiful looking and tasted good.
2. Technically he made it with only three ingredients.
3. He successfully used two techniques in which even you haven't ever done! Plus, they haven't been done on the channel before!
Ben giving Barry’s ‘cheat’ butter a pass but then immediately talking about NOT relying on a cupboard of herbs and spices is hilarious. Like, making a compound butter (not even buying a garlic butter from the supermarket) is the exact opposite of the point of the challenge. I’d love to see more of these with actual ingredients. Otherwise, just buy a jar of pasta sauce and call it a day
Really hope the comments section has spoken loud enough in this video. Mike SO deserved the creativity badge. He successfully mixed water and chocolate together, how often do you hear that? Once again he has been wronged.
5 ingredient badge on the line and Barry gets one with his 5+ cheaty ingredients, but Mike gets screwed with his 4 ingredient creativity. 😒
Just watched this video today. Mike abolutely deserves a Creativity Badge AND a Techinique Badge for his creative and innovative uses of chocolate here
Love this video concept! I'd really like to see this done but with 5 fresh/simple/raw ingredients - no pre-packaged things that are more than one ingredient already, but just 5 veggies/meats/flours/grains/etc. to really test their creativity.
YES! Hated Barry's "hack"
Yes please!
So proud of you Mike! 👏🏻 You even used techniques that Ben never even tried. Love that! ❤️ You deserve a badge mate!
Midway through I could see Jamie winning this, with ease. Shame Mike didn't get a badge, eventhough the dish didn't quite get there I think 'creativity' in mind he made a better job than Barry, who if being honest made a pasta dish with more than 10 ingredients in a 5 ingredients cooking battle (creative, yes, but kinda cheating).
Kind of? He was totally cheating.
Justice for Mike! Also Barry's butter is great in a leftover sense but 100% cheating
Mike may not have gone as creative as the others on the whole, but he 100% deserves a badge for learning techniques that nobody on Sorted has ever used (on camera) before! Water ganache and olive oil chocolate sauce? That was really impressive.
Regarding Barry's dish, I'd say that while some might consider the leftover compound butter a bit of a cheat, you can also just buy butters that already have herbs and spices in them. So in the end it's no different to getting a bag of mixed seafood; you only buy one thing. I might even say he deserves a win for picking 3! ingredients that all substituted multiple other ones - the ink pasta, the mixed seafood and the butter. Very smart choices.
Mike totally deserves a creativity badge in terms of technique!
Love how the sorted team aren't commenting so much on the comments on this video when they usually do...1000000% agree give Mike a badge!!!!
As a student that is used to cook with 5 random ingredients leftover in my fridge, I would ACE this 😂
Brilliant. What's your favourite go to?
Omg. Mood. I used to do that when i was in college. Just random stuff packed in with spices and juts cooking that. I used to buy a lot of potatoes and eggs cause both of them were just so versatile
@@SortedFood Sauteing pasta with any veggies leftover! But I will definitely be giving Mike's chocolate tart a go in the future 😁
thank you for the reply 🥺✨✨
@@SortedFood nicking whatever my housemates had in the cupboards without them actually noticing.
That reminds me of the time I made dinner out of only rice, nuts and cinnamon. It tasted pretty good and more importantly, filled me up enough to get through the night.
When every single comment is about Mike not getting the badge he rightfully deserves 👏🏻 love this community
Mike deserves a technique badge guys. He succeeded at two that even Ebbers has never done.
Also, though Mike didn't get a badge, he certainly had the spirit of a chef to try and make something with less the the max of ingredients and with a third of them being basically the same thing.
Mike is both creative and ambitious, which bites him in the rear several times already. Barry is imaginative and nails most of his dishes, while Jamie does what he can execute well most of the time, but he usually chooses familiar dishes.
When Mike made the ramen burger, Barry and Spaff made pasta and cheese. Barry at least made a creative flavor combination.
When Mike made a sweet Egg Benedict, Barry made waffle and Jamie made steak and home fries. Jamie nailed it, but Mike was the one with the ambition to make something different.
Mike deserves ALL the creativity and ambition badges.
Mike should have gotten a badge! He did brand new techniques that worked!
agree
He copied it straight off a choclotier on TicTok. It's not exactly being "creative". Creativity is using YOUR imagination to come up with and try out something new, unique or different. Copying someone elses recipe that you saw, step by step, isn't.
Mike should have gotten a badge, that was a bit unfair, but hearing him say "I want some f**king badges Ebbers" at the end was funny enough to almost make it worth him not getting one
Mike should get a badge for the water gnache and the olive oil/white chocolate sauce. Those are things that Ben hasn't tried before and as such, they deserve a technique badge for getting it right.
i've watched this twice now and i agree with the comments! Mike definitely should've gotten a badge of sorts for this one! The white chocolate and olive oil sauce definitely sounds interesting and it's something that i think a lot of us hadn't thought of!
I mean, yeah Ebbers adressed the cheat like nature of Barrys ingredients, but that doesn't make it less of a cheat. Compound butter with lots of herbs and a "mix" which is, in itself, already more than 5 ingredients makes this not really creativ (or technical, since Ebbers called it a "technique" badge some times in the video) but just plain boring. At the end of the day it was just pasta with tomato fish sauce made out of pretentious stuff. Next time on "cook with 3 ingredients" Barry buys just 1 super market and Ebbers is overwelmed by his creativ use of every aisle, meanwhile Mike invents a sixth flavor but Ebbers dont like the color of the dish, so he dont receive a badge.
Sorry for the rant but the rating system gets more and more rigged just to make an even score board and its just annoying to see it.
Mostly agree with you.
I don't necessarily know where the dividing line is between an ingredient and a mix of things.
Chocolate is a mix of things, bread is a mix of things, there is very rarely an Ingredient that doesn't have at least 2 things in it. But I do think it's kinda ridiculous that Barry gets help from Ben, and gets a pat on the back for it.
If you're going to make it a showcase, then it's fine. But if you're going to make it a competition, then everyone should be on the relative same ground regarding how ingredients are chosen, and they shouldn't get help/ideas from another person.
Agree, Barry should have been disqualified and zero badges … especially when he was complaining about Jamie knocking out the rest of his shavings after the time.
And was the compound butter made from leftovers or made the compliment the dish?
The tomato skins were Ben's idea!
Boo hiss.
(Jamie's looked great and creative. I'm sorry it was sullied by 'an ingredient of many things' being called one. If it was a precooked bag of just fish? Maybe. Many seafoods? Nah.)
Barrys cheat's might have followed the rules as written, but absolutely were not in the spirit of the competition. He should have been DQ'ed
I agree 100% with you on that. Baz makes a pretentious pasta dish, which he makes at home all the time so no skill involved, and Ebbers is all aflutter. Seriously???? WTF?? Mike got screwed once again!!! Btw I hate squid ink anything!! So, there is that bias on top of it!!
Mike so deserved a badge for his effort. Ebbers admitted that he hadn't ever tried 2 of the techniques, and yet still didn't give Mike a badge.
I'm appreciating the "That's a grate job" at 11:44 from Ben.
I was so excited seeing that tart come out of the tin! Well done Mike. That was really impressive. I’d have given you a badge. 🎖😊
Mike was definitely robbed of a badge!
I agree, Mike deserves a badge. Not every idea worked out as planned, but the ideas were there.
Hold on so Mike successfully pulled of a technique that Ben admitted he can't do, and he didn't get a technique badge?! He got robbed.
i also believe mike deserves a Badge, just such a creative technique, that i previously didn't even know about.
Barry made a pasta dish for the 69th time with obvious ingredients and got a creative badge while Mike barely got backward compliment, well done Ebbers!
Love the fact that Mike’s was no bake, is something I’ll definitely be trying.
I love that Mike brought some really tricky techniques and made me feel like I could try them with some success. He's such an inspiring Normal because he is learning and trying and aspiring for things and also making them accessible to us watching!
I would not have accepted Baz making his own compound butter and count that as just one ingredient. Just as I wouldn't have accepted someone to bake an entire cheesecake and count that as one ingredient either.
I think Mike should have got the creativity badge today but am thinking about the compound butter. I can buy that in my grocery so what is the difference between that and Mike using the chocolate and cream filled biscuits?
I'm willing to bet Bazes butter tasted way better than the store bought would have =)
Should Mike have been allowed to bake his own cream filled biscuits?
Feels like we are stepping out of bounds of the challange in that case.
@@MatsJPB If Barry can make compound butter from multiple ingredients, everyone else should have been allowed to do something similar or be allowed to do so in the future. Ruins the intent of the challenge in my opinion. The Five Ingredient Challenge should be exactly that.
The sound mixing around 4:15 was a fun edit! Small things like that makes me really appreciate the quality this Channel consistently puts out
Yes, you're right. It's been a winning formula for years. I like that about them.
I'm honestly confused as to how Mike didn't get a badge. Yes he didn't use 5 ingredients and yes most of them were chocolate, but he did make a full tart with mostly chocolate. He deserves the badge.
Mike needs a badge for this. How are you gonna say his recipe wasn’t creative? Olive oil and chocolate blend which turned out delicious is a creativity win on its own!
ok that water ganash was freaking amazing. You had my vote!! However, Jamie just did an energizer bunny move and just kept working over his few ingredients like a maestro!! WTG!!
Mike 100 percent deserved a badge!
Barry yelling "OI! STOP!" to Jamie because the time was up made me clench up
Mike deserves the badge too!!
I really think the bag of different seafood was a cheat. It should have been one type. And, like the rest of the comment section, if creativity is the brief then Mike more than earned one.
Eh, if its sold as a mix....id say thats one. But if he made the butter for this challenge, nope.
