For the fans of mind's eye squared, I'll give you the following information, if you put the game in window mode in the famous mechanic section of the song, you will see that your desktop is still normal, so the song does not take over your desktop, it just imitates it.
Honestly, your video has given me even more appreciation for Step Right Up and it's ost, alongside other mods you cover. It's great to see what other people have to say on their likes and dislikes of media.
Interesting intro.. but nice! Also- i actually was worried I wasn’t the only one who thought Evil Karu was just.. a non fitting song for this mod. I mean, all of the main songs (plus Mind’s Eye Squared) are all based on the horror genre. But Evil Karu… uh….. Yea it’s very weird to see a joke song, based on a joke on Karu trying to do a gritty, in a mod like this. And yeah, you’re right. Add a joke song based on another horror themed aspect that the internet mocks
Man, I really need to play this mod for myself. Hope that my shitty laptop can handle it. I just really love how they took a bunch of different horror games/media, put them together, and gave each of them a really good soundtrack. I especially like how they handled the Smile dog songs. Speaking of Smile dog, have you heard the old song, called "Spread the word"? It's made by NayuKhrome, and an one-off mod was created for it, by RightBurstUltra.

I was surprised deep dream wasn’t low on the list I would’ve understand, because I could see people not understanding the context or seeing how lacking the charting is. I think what you said probably is the best you can say about this song. I love it a lot, half out of bias but also its just a lovely representation of the game as a whole. And the way you described the idea of the song as whole (especially at the end where you mentioned the idea of how a dream or nightmare works) is probably the most justice I would have asked for for this song. Thank you, and if you want a good analysis of the series, you should totally watch Nitrorad’s up to date video of him going over Yume Nikki as a whole.
My rankings : 8 evilkaru B 7 naru A 6 deep dream S- 5 widespread S- 4 face me S 3 minds eye squared SS 2 no more SS 1 mortis SS (My top 3 always seems to swap around depending on how I’m feeling but this is what I’ve got right now )
Fun premiere! words cannot describe how happy i am with mortis’ placement The only things i would change about the list would be swapping “Face Me” with “No More” and “MINDS EYE SQUARED” with “Widespread”, i love widespread so muchh but MES is my favorite song ever made ever, love the dynamic between sara and dragon and how it noticeably shifts later in the song, from dragon dominating in the first part to sara being the one to sing first after FAKdogs section instead of dragon, her tone changing from being audibly scared to what i interpret as confidence, not a single bad part in it imo might be my favorite thing ever actually. Otherwise this list is pretty much exactly how i would’ve placed the songs. Another thing, sara doesn’t technically canonically die after widespread always, a developer tweeted that she lives if the email is deleted instead of sent (also stated and cited on her character page in the fandom wiki), I always delete the email so she never dies at the end of the song gg smile dog. One last thing and very weird question, i know its not technically what could be considered an fnf song, but where would you rank the gallery theme if you could? I personally think it’s an S tier i almost cried the first time I looked at the gallery, it has such emotion that is so unique to it. I think this mod will always be my favorite, it did something that mario madness and gorefield never came close to. Those mods all felt so bloated with so many forgettable songs (marios madness being far worse than gorefield in this regard, being only like 7% songs i actually like), but SRU is so different, it managed to make every song have something that someone can enjoy. Even though face me and mortis arent my favorites i still appreciate them bc of how much other people like them. And more personally SRU inspired me to actually start doing stuff and makes me want to make more ocs and write more bc of SRU’s banger character designs (specifically sara and thumper, thumper is so slept on bro), and the arg with sara thats going on that gives more background about her character (she just like me fo real no friends only evil jpegs to keep me company) One of my favorite past times is stalking various SRU developer twitter accounts and looking at all the fanart they receive, it is genuinely so heartwarming to see people who love this mod as much as i do post their own artwork, their own fan ocs, and their own mini comics featuring the SRU cast. I LOVE THIS MOD SO MUCH!!!! If it ever were to update i’m downloading that frame 1 bro. TLDR why is almost everyone gaga over sara??? Like shes legit just a normal girl and there’s some people in some comment sections/livestreams who can’t go 8 seconds without saying “SMASH” or “BADDIE” like can someone explain this please.
Also to add to your point as to why people made "Sara is a baddie tho" joke, it's because many people found her design to be extremely well cute and fine-looking. As such, they've then decided that it would be very funny to make those said "interesting" jokes just for personal giggles (for me, I don't really know myself but I just jumped in on it because why not 🤪).
calling mortis the worst of the main 6 is kinda rough in the sense that calling something “worse” implies it’s bad, it’s just weaker aside from that, pretty good video!
@@iMixen Yeah, I see Mortis as a really good song but with some notable flaws (these flaws aren’t too devastating for the song to be ranked lower imo so it’s kinda interesting that Neo ranked it pretty low).
Here are some more fun facts that you either didn’t know or missed out: Evilkaru: The main reason as to why this secret song even exists is because the director of the mod, TheRoyalTony, thought it would be a very funny surprise for Penkaru when he plays the mod (I found this out when he uploaded his playthrough where he said that during a trip with TheRoyalTony one day, Penkaru told him in a conversation that if he found any funny surprises relating to him in any way, he would lose it. He then immediately later said that TheRoyalTony’s response/reaction to what he said was “So… you wouldn’t like it if we did that then?”, to which Penkaru then became suspicious of as to what he meant by that until his playthrough of the mod months later). Mortis: 1. The cinematic cutscene where John and Father Garcia do the bro handshake at the end of Mortis/The True Ending run in Chapter 3 of Faith is a supposed reference to the where actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers locked arms together in the beginning cutscene of “The Predator” 2. Omni-Man was used as a base reference for Father Garcia’s sprites (☠️) 3. Michael is based off from spiders and is over 6ft and 2 inches tall 4. Airdoff, the creator of Faith, has acknowledged the mod Deep Dream: 1. Madotsuki, Monoe, Monoko and Poniko’s vocal chromatics are sampled from actual people (in respective order, these people are Koiwai Kotori, Saku Mizuno, Maria Naganawa and Tara Strong) 2. Uboa bears resemblance to Gaster from Undertale which many have pointed out despite the former predating the latter 3. At the end of the song/game, Madotsuki k@lls herself by jumping off from her balcony via climbing up a ladder to do so (the ending cutscene of Deep Dream uses the same ending cutscene of the game) 4. There’s a Saster motif in Monoko’s phase as stated by the composer of the song, Eden’s Essence (it’s from the official visualiser for Deep Dream) No More: 1. Apparently, there was an early version of both Mama’s and Tattletail’s sprites that were mistakenly included in an FNF mod called Funkin’ Peanuts. 2. Ruby was originally going to die at the end of No More but it ended up not coming to fruition and was cut out of the mod entirely Face Me: 1. The Dog’s vocals were sampled from William Dafoe as you mentioned, although it’s specifically from the Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 tie in-game where he played the Green Goblin (because of this, I essentially call him the Dog Goblin now) 2. David is based off from the Kazoo Kid and his favourite mod is ironically the main one being discussed about, which is Adventure Isle (for reference, Ruby’s is Dead Air while Sara’s is Bop City) 3. Apparently, there’s the Metal Pipe sound effect that faintly plays in the background at the end of Part 1/beginning of Part 2 but in reverse Mind’s Eye Squared: 1. This song is actually a remix of an original variant of the same name but it has a much slower tempo, it does not have the Squared in its title, and the FAKDOG section is completely nonexistent in the song entirely since it was only made specifically and exclusively for this mod by one of the artist named MacCheese (it’s called Mind’s Eye by blackberri/samiiwave and is available on UA-cam) 2. The web series that the song is based off from, Chainmail Chasers, is actually canon to the universe of this mod (The creators themselves have also acknowledged the mod too) 3. The Dragon is a 25+ year old cognitohazard basilisk and is based off from a black Labrador 4. There’s a second version of this song that has a slightly different intro sequence, it doesn’t have the Dragon’s voice lines and has an immediate cut off at the end of the song (this one is labeled as the OST version that was uploaded onto UA-cam/Spotify by the official developers of Step Right Up) 5. Sara likes wolves and dogs, (how ironically fitting don’t you think 😉), with her favourite in general being Siberian Huskies (she had one named Bella that ran away from her 6 years ago). She also appeared in an analogue horror UA-cam video called “The Interview” uploaded by the Official Step Right Up channel which takes place one week prior to the events that she experienced in Widespread/Mind’s Eye Squared That’s basically all of the fun facts I have (at least ones that I thought were noteworthy). I’m gonna watch this video a couple of times so that I can make a proper and well articulated response on some of the things that I agree and disagree with on Neo’s points. Be patient with this though as this is probably gonna take a few hours to full on days depending on whether or not I’m busy with things. Goodbye for now.
@@Retreg5 It’s from one of the many art doodles made by one of the artists for the mod. As for it being canon, I’m not too sure because it mainly seems like it added for fun (don’t quote me on this though).
I don’t know why people are being mad at SOMEONE ELSE’S opinions. Your own opinion isn’t holy or the factual truth, so stop being mad that his tier list isn’t exactly like your own.
@@darkbowser7299 Fr bro. The moment that Neo revealed his ranking for Mortis being at the bottom 6, I immediately knew what was going to happen and started to see comments from every Mortis fanboys going rabid on him for being “wrong”. Like chill guys, it’s just an opinionated list by one guy, it can’t harm you and you can make your own personal rankings on which one is which the best for you (he even said in his video that the top 6 on his list are all pretty good). Even though I would’ve ranked Mortis higher myself, I’m the kind of guy who actually sees notable flaws within Mortis and that it’s not some super duper godly song that many other people I’ve seen view it as. At the end of the day, it’s just his opinion. If you don’t agree with it, then that’s fine since we like what we like, but that doesn’t fully give you the right to wrongfully hound on someone who thinks that the song is objectively “bad” to them.
oh im looking FORWARD to this one! Post watch edit: YES, THIS HAS EVERYTHING I LOVE IN A NEO STUDIO VIDEO HOT TAKES! MORTIS AS THE BOTTOM 6! WIDESRPEAD MY BELOVED AT THE TOP! NO MORE RECOGNITION!
So I've just finished watching this video a couple of times now (about 6-7 rewatches ☠) and I definitely have some things to say. This upload has been highly anticipated by me for quite some time and I was very excited, yet also anxious, to see how each of the songs in this mod were viewed/ranked. Step Right Up: Adventure Isle is very interesting to me because this might be one of, if not, the best and most well made mod of the year imo (I consider it to be on the same level as Hypno’s Lullaby in terms of quality because the art, gameplay and music all genuinely go hard for no reason and I freakin love it)! Everyone else that I’ve seen seems to have already voiced their own opinions on what song they think is the best in the mod (for better or for worse), so as someone who has regularly listened to all of the OSTs very regularly ever since they came out, I feel as if I am able to perfectly showcase my points over how I view each and every single one of them in my own personal perspective. With that being said, let’s begin (see my replies down below to check out my responses👇)!
NASU (B tier, and No.8 of my list): Yeah, I’m not surprised that this one is low. NASU really isn’t too notable at all and is probably on par with Evilkaru as the weakest track in the mod’s roster (LOL). This entire song is just a simpler and more watered-down version of Deep Dream (a much better song than this imo), though that’s not to say that it’s bad by any means since the relaxing 8-Bit instrumentals and Madotsuki’s wavy vocal chromatics still make it sound pretty nice. NASU is just serviceable enough to be considered good to listen to and I very much like how it’s a perfect set up for Deep Dream so that’s cool I guess. Some extra things to go over: 1. NASU does do a good job at referencing the original game of the same name in Yume Nikki, even though many people (myself included) don’t know too much of it aside from some quick Google searches - Fun Fact: NASU comes from the Japanese word nasubi, which means eggplant (makes sense since the original game being referenced involves eggplants as a main gimmick) 2. Even if you count it as a separate song (which it is, don’t get me wrong), I still like to view it as a prologue to Deep Dream (the best way that I can describe this is that NASU serves an initial appetizer while Deep Dream is the full main course). While you can listen to both separately, I prefer to listen to them together to get the full experience 3. Yume Nikki doesn’t actually have any lore/story behind it. The game mainly focuses on Madotsuki’s exploration of the Dream World’s environmental atmosphere (this is emphasised more in Deep Dream which I will get to later). It also explores many complex and heavy themes such as isolation and s@icide in a very deep/intricately creative way (hence this is why Yume Nikki is labeled as a horror game for a reason). Hope this helps give you a bit of a better insight Overall, I give NASU 6/10. It’s a decent song but I know that it’s not everyone’s favourite due to it being not too memorable and that there are other songs that rival it in comparison. For my favorite parts, it’s the 1st and 3rd act because Madotsuki’s singing sections are very nice to listen to imo.
Evilkaru (B- tier, and No.7 on my list): Was also expecting this one as well (though I’m quite surprised that this is even ranked higher than NASU LOL). Evilkaru is probably the most divisive track in the mod (besides another one that I’ll get into) since many people that I’ve seen find the generic instrumentals, the off-tuned vocals , the a$$ melodies and overall poor mixing to be genuinely bad, not funny and incoherently random (they treat it as if it’s an afront to God or something which I can get because the rest of the mod’s roster has much better quality overall and all connect together very well). That being said, I ironically LOVE this song for no absolute reason! I don’t know what it is, but there’s just something about that makes me vibe with it a lot. Yeah, Evilkaru doesn’t have any substance at all and feels like a pretty random inclusion to the mod, but that’s probably the charm to it imo. The weird/random vibe works well to make it seem very funny to me, especially when Quandale Dingle and Penkaru’s awkward atonal makes the former sound like he’s blabbing nonsense while the latter sounds like he’s just done with it. One thing that I have to mention about this song: 1. The reason as to why Evilkaru was even added into the mod was because TheRoyalTony (the mod’s director) thought that it would have been a very funny surprise for Penkaru when he played it (he lost his sh!t in a good way when he encountered the song). Essentially, the entire general conception of this joke song was that it was specifically/exclusively made for the sole purpose of getting a funny reaction out of Penkaru (he confirmed this on his playthrough of the mod where he said that during a trip with TheRoyalTony one day, Penkaru said that if there were any funny surprises relating to him in any way then he would absolutely lose it, too which TheRoyalTony then suspiciously responded with “So… you wouldn’t like it if we did that then?”) Overall, I give Evilkaru 6/10. It’s just satisfactory enough for it to be considered tolerable since it’s not too groundbreakingly bad despite others saying otherwise. For my favourite parts, it’s the obvious Sonic.EXE Drowning Theme section because the beat is kinda catchy and it’s also the most memorable part of the song imo (LMAO).
Mortis (A- tier, and No.3 of my list): Starting off with a very controversial one, I see. The fact that this is ranked very low in the mod’s Top 6 is very interesting, but then again, this really can’t be a Neo’s Studios FNF OST ranking list video without insanely debatable hot takes. Many people that I’ve seen say that it’s the best of Step Right Up and view it as some sort of godly piece of medium with no flaws at all. However, I beg to differ. Whilst this is a really banger-a$$ track at the end of the day, the song feels a bit ‘broken’ to listen to (essentially, Mortis has very good parts/sections but as a whole, it doesn’t really mesh well together due to a lack of proper transitions imo). However, I will give my praises in that this song does perfectly capture the 8-bit Atari 80’s arcade style game graphics/music present in the original Faith game (I was already a huge Faith fan back in the day, and the fact that this song is even in an FNF mod at all essentially got me back into it). Each of Mortis’s phases are also really good to listen to on their own merits, although I do have a bit to say about each of them: Amy’s Phase: 1. The opening does a very good job at creating an anticipative build-up for the main section of this phase (it makes you excitedly wait to see/hear what happens next) 2. John’s vocals are GODLY in the intro (and for the rest of Mortis for that matter) as it’s consistently engaging and never boring at all to listen to 3. Amy’s demonically screeching vocals are pretty decent/groovy at times - She also sounds like she’s genuinely tweaking due to being a possessed vessel for demons like in the original game so that’s a neat detail 4. The choppy and compressed instrumentals actually kind of works for this song imo as it perfectly emulates the old and classic 80’s Atari arcade game vibe present in the original game 5. Whilst the pacing does feel repetitively long/dragged out in Amy’s main part, I think it works because the repetition of the melodies/beat make this entire section feel very consistent utilized to its fullest potential 6. The multiple Amy clones part (or the ‘Overdue Moment” as I like to call it since it bears resemblance to the ending section in Overdue from Mario’s Madness) is the BEST of her phase as the fast paced beat/intense popoff perfectly captures the feeling of John being completely overwhelmed by Amy’s power, though the way how this section just kind of ends abruptly and moves on to the next phase really ruins it for me because it felt like there was going to be more but that it just decided to randomly cut off for some inexplicable reason Michael’s Phase (The BEST part of the song and I will stand by this till the day I die!): 1. The sudden shift to this phase kinda creates an ‘on edge’/ominous vibe as if John has been randomly sent to go fight off against another unknown evil force (John’s solo is also pretty good) 2. The transition from Michael’s intro cutscene to his proper reveal works wonders for me, and the two popping off to each other back-and-forth makes it WAY better than it should (it sounds like a rap battle between the two characters but that one tries to completely overwhelm the other) 3. Their forest battle is also really good and I rock with the energetic and intensely fast-paced vibe/mood set out (it also feels consistently similar to Amy’s section which I like) 4. I actually think Michael’s vocals are great because it being off-tuned and rough kinda makes him sound like he’s some sort of an incomprehensibly wild and frantic animal waiting to strike if you get what I mean (it’s also fitting in the fact that he literally speaks constant nonsense all the time and that he’s referred to looking like a chupacabra in the game) Transition Phase: 1. I do NOT like John’s solo transition at all (and it’s not just because of the random footstep noises in the background) - The sudden tonal shift to a slow and more melancholic vibe kinda disrupts and ruins the consistent fast-pace vibe that the first two phases were building up/maintaining (it essentially cuts off the intensity so abruptly for a slow calm break which I don’t like because it doesn’t do it well imo) Garcia’s Section/Confrontation Phase: 1. I very much like his vocals even if they’re muffled (it pretty much fits with him being a 70+ year old Hispanic shotgun-wielding BADA$$!) 2. I also really like the slow rock-style instrumentals as it works really well and is much better than John’s solo phase imo (him also being paired with Michael is also genius to me as it closely ties into their relationship in Chapter 2 of Faith) 3. The heavy metal instruments, the characters’ back-and-forth singing and the awesome melodies are pretty good for this phase and they all work really well in conveying a proper urgent battle between the two opposing forces (shoutout to @darkbowser7299 for giving me this idea because it really helps me appreciate it more) 4. One of my personal gripes for the Confrontation is that in the mid-section, some of the characters kinda get interrupted in singing their melodies and that they don’t really get to fully finish their parts which makes the whole thing feel ‘broken’/choppy if you get what I mean (this essentially takes me out of being fully immersed into the battle because it feels too inconsistent/stiff for me to like) 5. Another thing that I also don’t really like about the Confrontation is that it’s completely built off from the horrible Solo Transition, which makes this feel like a completely different song that was tagged in very badly if you get my gist Final Phase: 1. The beginning section between John and Amy is okay since it’s essentially just a rushed/watered-down version of the 1st Phase (though I can still appreciate it since the transition from the Confrontation is pretty good and it also brings back the consistently fast-paced beat that I liked) 2. John’s vocals in his solo are spectacular, and the instrumentals/melodies are on point as it really helps sell the idea that he’s finally giving his all into performing the exorcism against Amy like how he did in the True Ending Run of Chapter 3 in Faith 3. The 8-bit Atari music playing in conjunction with the cutscene of John and Father Garcia doing their GOATED bro handshake from the original game before ending everything off with the Faith title card popping up is very nice and I vibe with it a lot (it also helps sell this phase/song for me as it ends everything off on such a high note and that it perfectly wraps up everything that you’ve experienced in such a good way) Overall, I give Mortis an 8/10. Again, it’s not too bad and I still like it at the end of the day, but some of the flaws present within the song pretty much turn me off at some point (though even that wouldn’t have made me rank Mortis as low as it is on Neo’s list since they’re just minor issues that I have). For my favorite parts, it’s the “Overdue Moment” at the end of Amy’s Phase, the entirety of Michael’s Phase, the 2nd half of the Confrontation and the Ending Part of the Final Phase because these ABSOLUTE BANGER parts are the most memorable for me and you can’t say otherwise!!!
Deep Dream (A tier, and No.6 of my list): This song is an underrated gem and I’m kind of surprised that it’s ranked a bit high on the list. Besides Evilkaru, Deep Dream may be one of the most divisive songs in the mod as I’ve been seeing so many people who love this song dearly and so many others who don’t care much for it (this is probably due to two major influencing factors: People’s musical preference and their knowledge on Yume Nikki). For me, I’m sort of in the middle ground as this song isn’t one that I listen too often, though I can still be appreciative of its attempt at capturing a calm and peaceful, yet somewhat mysterious and eerie vibe/mood (makes sense as the entire premise of Yume Nikki takes place in Madotsuki’s Dream World). This makes me feel like out of all the songs in I also think that out of all the songs in Step Right Up, Deep Dream captures the theme/tone of its original source material the best as everything about it from start to finish feels like one big, long dream via the song’s slow pacing and the creatively unique/interpretive narrative events played. With all that aside, here are my points phase by phase: Madotsuki’s Phase: 1. Madotsuki’s vocal chromatics are BEAUTIFUL to hear since it makes her sound very innocent/cute 2. The instrumentals are good but the melody is definitely the biggest highlight for me, mainly with the main motif/chorus sung throughout this phase and for the rest of Deep Dream (it sounds very dreamy which I like) 3. The entire vibe of this phase just sounds very nice as it feels like Madotsuki is exploring the vastly abstract and unknown territory that is the Dream World Monoe’s Phase: 1. While good to listen to, this is probably my least favourite phase in Deep Dream as Monoe’s chromatics/melodies sound just decent but not too notable (also her name is a play on the word monochrome so make of that what you will) 2. I do like how weird and snarky the instrumentals are in the first half (makes sense in the fact that Monoe has this somewhat smug and unusual vibe, especially with her funny facial expressions) 3. I also like how the atmospheric tone immediately changes from a tranquil vibe in the 1st Phase to a weird/uneasy feeling when Madotsuki confronts Monoe before going a bit euphoric in the second half 4. Their duet together is beautiful as it brings back the beautiful motif/chorus that I love (it sounds very nice when the two bounce each other off) Monoko’s Phase: 1. I REALLY like this phase a lot as it’s definitely a certified jam to vibe with 2. Whilst the beginning felt like it wasn’t transitioned very well, I can forgive it as the suddenness of Madotsuki and Monoe randomly stumbling across a new character works really well in conveying the confusion of this phase 3. The super memorably fast-paced and wavey instrumentals (as well as the vibrant melodies) give off a very playful and anime-esque feeling which I love 4. Their little battle overall is pretty cute as it feels like a Pokemon/Dungeons and Dragons encounter, with Madotsuki trying to convince a baffled-looking Monoko to join her party whilst Monoe is just tagging in for fun (there’s also a Saster motif during the part right before Madotsuki turns into a traffic light which, in turn, transforms Monoko into a really weird-looking monstrosity like in the original game which I find really neat and funny). 5. At the part where they ride on the flying broom (kinda gives me a Little Witch Academia/Kiki’s Service Delivery vibe), it once again brings back the main motif/chorus but in a more magical feeling which I can enjoy Poniko’s Phase (this is probably my personal favourite one of the entire bunch): 1. Poniko’s vocal chromatic makes her sound a bit nonchalant/non-caring which adds to a bit of personality to her like the rest of the girls in Deep Dream (I also want to point out that her chromatics are sampled from Tara Strong - Yes, THAT Tara Strong) 2. The calm and comfy feeling of being in a very safe bright room is prominent here (it also adds a false sense of security that effectively comes into play in the ending) 3. I personally like the LoFi instrumentals a lot since it pretty much solidifies that feeling of calmness and the sense that Madotsuki is in a really good deep dream this far into the song (I also like how all the four girls sing together as if they are perfectly relaxing/having fun in Poniko’s room) 4. The adventurous bike section brings back the beautifully memorable main motif/chorus again (though not as great and impactful as before), and I love that all four girls get their chance to sing each part of it (it also doesn’t sound off so it earns some more praises for me) Ending: 1. The ending is so perfect and is probably the best part in Deep Dream - The song does an effective attempt at creating a very genuine scare as the sudden abrupt cut of the calm and peaceful vibe to an immediate dead silence adds to the feeling of something having unwillingly hijacked/interrupted Madotsuki’s beautiful dream (in this case, it’s the Uboa) 2. I love how Uboa looks/sounds so unnerving because it makes his presence alone genuinely uncomfortable to be around 3. Madotsuki’s suspenseful one-on-one confrontation with the Uboa is amazing as the moment the latter takes control and blankly stares at the former with zero emotion, the situation becomes cold and tense - This leads to a moment where Madotsuki desperately tries her best in singing the main motif/chorus so that she can continue her beautiful dream again and avoid the horrible nightmare emanated from Uboa’s creepiness, but as she does so, she eventually becomes overwhelmed with the fact that it’s not working at all (it also doesn’t help that Uboa then begins gaslighting her to wake up which she doesn’t want to) 4. The final part is then completely built up to the point where Madotsuki has no choice but to sadly pinch herself to wake up as there’s nothing that she can do to fix it now which I find very good 5. Something to point out at the end of Deep Dream, apparently Madotsuki k@lls herself after she wakes up as the ending cutscene that plays uses the same one from the original game. Overall, I give Deep Dream a 7.5/10. Although it isn’t my favourite song in the mod, I can appreciate it for what it is since it does a perfect job at setting its intended mood/vibe of being one big, dreamy experience (get it). For my favourite parts, it’s either Monoko’s Phase, Poniko’s Phase or the Ending part as they have a certain charm to them and are also very effective at setting a particular mood that they’re going for.
No More (A tier, and No.4 of my list): This song is SO good for no reason and I love how it perfectly captures the intensely suspenseful atmospheric vibe present in the original game via the ominous yet fast-paced instrumentals/beat. Although I do love this song a lot since it does everything musically right, it’s actually not too high on my list, mainly because of personal preference for the other songs in the mod. Before I get to my points, there’s two things that I want to clarify: 1. The main protagonist of Tattletail is also ungendered since the game itself never fully implies whether or not they are a boy or girl (they essentially just simply serve the purpose of allowing the player to fill themselves into the character’s shoes) 2. There is no set order of songs in Step Right Up as the main gimmick of the mod is getting a randomly selected song on the spinning wheel (makes sense because the mod itself is aesthetically based off on an amusement theme park) - However, if we are to go with the UA-cam album uploaded by the official Step Right Up channel, then Widespread is actually the first song on the list with No More following suit (make of that what you will though) With those tangents aside, here goes: Beginning Phase: 1. Despite it taking a bit too long for the song to fully start, I still like the long intro as the ominous melodic hum at the beginning to a dreadful tune works well in effectively adding a suspenseful and tense atmospheric vibe present in the original game 2. Ruby and Tattletail sound very good in this phase (and throughout the rest of No More), with the former sounding like a young, innocent and confusedly scared little girl while the latter sounds like a very loud and obnoxiously attentive little sh!t who talks at the worst possible moment - I also like how Tattletail’s in-game voicelines are implemented in the song’s melody since it’s not too distracting 3. The second long pause/silence does kinda suck to listen to, but I think it’s serviceable in that it adds more to the suspense of you frantically searching for Mama Tattletail as she scatters around throughout the different rooms in the gameplay (yeah, I know that gameplay shouldn’t be considered as a factor in ranking an FNF song but still) Middle Phase: 1. This phase definitely has the most amount of care/substance to it as the well-executed vocal synchronizations of Ruby, Mama and Tattletail, the awesome beat drop, and the really memorable melody all work together in making the entire thing feel consistently whole to listen which I very much like (it also helps that the slow build up that I liked in Phase 1 really pays off for Phase 2 to shine) 2. I can hear Mama’s vocals just fine, even if it’s a bit quiet/muffled at times (I even think it works well in that regard as it sets the idea that Mama is a silent stalker who patiently awaits for the perfect opportunity in striking her targeted victims) 3. I personally like the dubstep section in No More a lot (even if it’s not for everyone), mainly because I think that it’s cool and that it kinda blends in really well into the song if you get what I mean - The intensely dreadful and fast-paced vibrant beat rocks HARD as hell and is probably the best of the entire song imo (I also think that the intensity serves as a very suspenseful/anticipative build up to the finale, and the 2D cartoon animation of the Ritual Preparation playing in conjunction makes it much more effective at conveying that vibe imo) Ending Phase: 1. While the ending chorus is still pretty enjoyable to listen again (as well as the fact that it has the ‘No More Mama” chanting from Dewdrop and Butternut as an added bonus/neat callback to the Ritual Moment in the original game), it’s essentially just a much shorter/more simple version of the Middle Phase if you get what I mean (it also lacks the same amount of substance and care that the Middle Phase had but whatever) 2. The sudden transition into this phase kinda ruins the gradual build up that the dubstep section was making me anticipate but it’s not to bad at all though 3. Fun Fact: Ruby was actually originally going to die at the end of No More, but it ended up not coming to fruition and was cut out of the mod entirely Overall, I give No More an 8/10. The song is really good overall and the issues present don’t really hold it back for me too much, though it’s still not very high on my list due to me preferring some of the other songs in the mod a lot more. For my favourite parts, it’s the beginning part of the 1st Phase (the part where Ruby and TattleTail sings) and the entirety of 2nd Phase (especially the dubstep section) because they are just so consistently good and memorable to listen to imo.
@darkbowser7299 oh don't mention it it was a silly idea I wasn't even expecting to happen based on how different their style of ranking is on one side we have the nostalgia critic of fnf and on another we have a goober but thanks anyway
Very excited! Here’s my ranking: 8. Evilkaru (C+) 7. Face Me (B) 6. No More (B+) 5. Nasu (A) 4. Mortis (S-) 3. Widespread (S) 2. Minds Eye Squared (S+) 1. Deep Dream (SS)
@@fensi_ And? It’s just personal preference since Deep Dream isn’t a song that I listen to regularly, mainly due to it not being my main music type as well as the fact that the other songs in this mod outshine it much more in my opinion (That’s not to say that Deep Dream is bad though because I also like it). Again, that’s just me and you can like what you like.
@@evergreenthedog Yeah, but why would Face Me even have a mono setting (especially when it’s the song’s default setting)!? Trying to switch it to the preferred setting in order to get a better listening experience is literally just taking extra steps imo.
Honestly I just Hoping that widespread and face me get pretty high I really like both of the songs and they are both creepy pastas that I know some what well
Loved the work on Deep Dream. Not my favorite song, but I give it all the credit for being the first FNF song to make me feel genuine discomfort for a horror mod. Plus I still love it lol
Step Right Up: Adventure Isle is legitimately one of the best Friday Night Funkin mods ever. Its dedication to the source material that its songs are based off of and its extremely high quality blew me away. I was lucky enough to play this mod when it first came out and not get spoiled at what it was. I saw the funk kast 2 trailer which was very cryptic and I thought it looked pretty cool. I went into this mod completely blind, not knowing anything about it. And it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in this game. I love this mod so much and it is and probably will be in my top 3 fnf mods for a while. That being said, this is a ranking video and so here's my ranking. Keep in mind that I absolutely adore every song in 6th through 1st and they are all amazing and special in their own way. Second, third, and forth are all pretty much interchangeable with each other. These were literally some of the hardest rankings I’ve ever done. That being said, here's my opinions on this banger mod. 1st-Mind’s eye squared (SS+) 2nd-Mortis (SS) 3rd-Face Me (SS) 4th-No More (SS) 5th-Widespread (S+) 6th-Deep Dream (S+) 7th-Evilkaru (B) 8th-Nasu (C-) (Yes there’s that many SS tiers for me. I love this mod what can I say) I will now give an overly obsessive review of every song in this beautiful mod. Keep in mind that 8th and 7th are smaller songs that are not really on the same level as the others. They’re nice but are in no way better than the main songs. I had a lot more to say about these songs than I thought I did. I wrote so much that I’m gonna have to split this up into a couple comments. If you make it to the end of this and are wondering where the other songs are, check the replies. I posted the rest there. I also wrote this before this video came out (You really thought I wrote all this that fast?) and I might have changed a couple things like maybe Neo mentioned something that I wanted to point out to. So If there is some stuff that was already said in the video or other inconsistencies like that then just keep this in mind. With that being said if you want to see my opinions on the songs head on down to the replies here👇
8). Nasu (C) Nasu is honestly such a weird song. I don’t really know why it exists (Neo said that it’s a cute reference to the game and that’s nice but I still don’t know why this is a short and hidden song) and it sounds…Not very good. I like deep dream a lot and this kinda sounds like deep dream but it's overall worse. It’s a minute long and it’s going for a sort of sleepy dreamy vibe (just like deep dream) only it sounds off. I can’t really tell what it is but the melodies in this song just sound weird and the song also has a subpar instrumental. It is just a little bonus song before deep dream and obviously wasn't intended to be anything crazy but it’s just a whatever song. 7). Evilkaru (B-) God this song is dumb. But it’s honestly kinda good. It is a joke song and as far as joke songs go it’s pretty decent. I like the beat and the atonals that it uses sound pretty nice all things considered. And then the sonic drowning theme along with a hoard of Penkaru.exes appear and the song sounds really good. It’s not groundbreaking or anything but it’s just a nice little extra joke song. (I would also like to note that the gallery them is an absolute bop and if you haven’t listened to it you absolutely need to) Now onto the main songs
6). Deep Dream (S+) Despite the fact the deep dream is my least favorite of the six main songs it is still an incredible song that I love. This song is based off of Yume Nikki (a game I have not yet played) and despite the fact that I have no clue what’s even happening it still almost brings me to tears everytime I hear it. The song's main motif is established in the beginning in Madotsuki’s phase and is quite frequently throughout the rest of the song. It feels so light and dreamy and It becomes a comforting melody to make the listener feel safe (keep this in mind because there’s a later section that uses this to its advantage). I love this little chorus and it is a very important part of the song Monoe’s phase sounds absolutely beautiful. It begins quiet as the two sing together but after a while it picks up into an amazing symphony that once again uses that same motif but this time instead of feeling dreamy it feels more confident and adventurous. Paired with the amazing visual of the areas shifting in the background it makes for a very amazing sounding moment. Then It’s Monoko’s turn and she completely changes the mood of the song. It feels much more whimsical and silly and this part just overall sounds nice. Then there’s Poniko’s part (my favorite). All of the previous characters are just chilling with her in her room and they all take turns singing different parts. It sounds really good and it’s just so nice and cozy. We then see the four of them riding on a bike once again singing that same comforting melody. But then something…happens. The song starts glitching and you are met with an uncomfortable figure (keep in mind I have no clue who this guy is. This is just my interpretation of the song). The song then becomes much more unsettling. It feels cold and quiet as Madotsuki tries to sing that motif again, trying to find some order and meaning to this…but to no avail. The song here feels so creepy and yet still feels calm and almost comforting just like the rest of the song. Then the creature asks her “Do you know you”. Madotsuki then pinches her cheek and wakes up. This song is so beautiful and really encapsulates that dreamy feeling that it was going for. Every part sounds so nice in their own ways and I love how they use this motif to lull you into a false sense of security and then completely subvert your expectations. I also initially wasn't the biggest fan of the final creepy section of this song but honestly Neo kinda convinced me. I was always on the fence as to whether I liked its abruptness or whether I thought it kinda took away from the song but Neo convinced me that it definitely works in its favor. The song is very simple (in a good way) but overall this song is simply incredible. 5). Widespread (S+) Widespread is a ridiculously catchy song. Sara sounds amazing in this song and smile dog’s vocals, while a bit quiet in the beginning, are insanely good. The song begins very chill and the music is something of a trap beat. But then it kicks off and gets way more intense. This song really emanates the feeling that a lot of those old creepypastas like jeff the killer or slenderman give off. It fits really well with Smile dog and almost gives it a sense of nostalgia. I’d also like to note that this song also has a main motif that it returns to quite regularly and it is just so good. It feels so ominous and imposing. The song then quiets down again leading into another beat drop. I love how they use sara’s chromatic as of those dubstep beat drops where the vocals get higher and faster. Then the song switches to phase to. And to call this part incredible would be underselling it. Smile dog in the first phase sounded almost mysterious. You could tell that he had malicious intent but there was an uncertainty about it. But in phase two you can tell he is out to kill. He sounds so much more threatening here as he just goes absolutely insane. Sara’s atonals in this section are fine. I think they are kinda weak especially when you compare it to a certain other song that I’ll cover later but they still sound alright. The instrumental just absolutely pops off as the song climaxes. It then ends with that same mysterious motif, now no longer mysterious but dangerous. It almost feels like a clock ticking down how much time I have left whenever I listen to it in this section. This song honestly kinda took a while to get used to but once I did I realized how hard it goes. I love the rock vibes and just the overall feel that this song has. Like I said earlier I feel like this song perfectly represents older creepypasta characters. Definitely a banger. 4.) No more (SS) I love no more. While it’s not my favorite song in the mod, it is the most personal for me. Tattletail is one of my favorite horror games ever and as a huge tattletail fan I can safely say that this song does an amazing job at representing the game. The song starts with Ruby (The child that we play as goes unnamed but Ruby is the name that step right up gives her) going down stairs to open her present. The song starts off very quiet and relaxed and slowly ramps up until the music gets very loud and ominous the moment she opens the gift and sees tattletail. The music then kinda stays like this for a bit. I love the part where we see Mama first move and the music gets a lot more ambient. It sounds almost like breathing. Take this with a grain of salt but I believe that the music for this section is sampled from the in-game ambience. One of if not my favorite aspect of tattletail is its sound design. Tattletail unironically has some of the best sound design from any horror game I've ever played. Mama herself isn’t very scary but the intense stings and music that plays when she’s near sounds so terrifying. A lot of the sound effects and music just feel so unique to this game. And no more absolutely does this justice. The instrumental just oozes the energy that tattletail has and a lot of the moments where it just goes quiet feel so reminiscent of the original game. Neo said that he wasn't a fan of the silence in this part but I honestly love it. I think it fits tattletail’s vibe to a T. After a little bit of chilling down there with tattletail Mama starts to sing. And she sounds AMAZING. She absolutely pops off and adds so much intensity to the song. It’s here where the song picks up and goes crazy. This song, just like all the others, uses a main motif in the song and it's used mostly in this section and especially in the final section of the song. Before I talk about the final phase I just want to mention tattletail himself. Tattletail is constantly spewing voice lines and little teases at both you and Mama throughout the entire song. This might honestly be my favorite part about no more. It’s a callback to the game where tattletail is also constantly babbling about how he’s hungry or about how much Mama hates you and he is always just such a joy to be around. It was annoying at first but he quickly grew on me and I just love him now. His voice lines being used here adds a surprising amount to the music and they really feel like they fit. This also ties back in with the song mimicking tattletail’s sound design and these two aspects alongside each other really makes this song stand out for me and just makes me love it even more. Then the camera zooms in on the tv and we see a cartoon Mama talking to us. The voiceline used here are from Mama’s iconic “turn the page” story and they really fit here. It gives Mama this somewhat ominous and malicious vibe. Mama is either typically depicted as a conniving plotting toy or as a feral beast and this part really helps make her even more threatening than she already was. Then there’s the dubstep part. I know that there are some people that really don’t like this part. It’s kind of a sudden change from the rest of the song and I do agree. It’s a pretty jarring tonal change that I don’t think is done the best. That being said I honestly still love this part. I couldn’t tell you why but this also feels like it belongs in tattletail. I can’t explain why this part feels like it fits with the rest of the song, I really can’t. It’s just kinda how I feel and I can’t really explain it. Then we cut to our final section where we see cartoon versions of Ruby, The various tattletails, and Mama. The tattletails chanting NO MORE MAMA (just like they do in the finale of the game) and everyone gathering around the pentagram in an attempt to banish and get rid of Mama one last time just feels so epic. The main motif is used here once again as a final callback and after a little time of straight fire the song ends. No more is genuinely just such an amazing song that I think pays an incredible tribute to its source material. It managed to capture tattletail’s vibe perfectly and then translate it into song form. It is just an amazing song that really brings back a lot of memories. And the fact that there are three more songs that beat out my personal bias for this one just goes to show how incredible this mod's soundtrack is. Also one last note, like I said earlier I played this mod completely blind. This was the first song that I got and you couldn’t even imagine the big stupid grin I got when I saw that opening logo for the song.
3). Face Me (SS) I originally wasn't the biggest fan of face me. I thought it was good but not one of the best of the mod. But the more I have listened to this song the more I have grown to love it. The song starts out with David battling against the dog from his tv screen. Part one of this song sounds really good. I love the 8-bit instrumental and David’s vocals. The Dog (I think that’s what he’s called) sounds kinda quiet here but it’s not too bad. I honestly don’t have too much to say about part 1. It sounds good, the instrumentals cool, and I think the mechanic is used very well. Then a giant version of the dog comes out of the water and kills David (in game of course) and this kicks off part 2. Part 2 begins very quiet and calm. This part feels almost nostalgic. This part really feels like it embodies a summer night in the 80’s (not that I was around in the 80’s). I don’t know how to explain it but it just feels so cool. Then the dog reveals himself. And he sounds spectacular. This entire phase just feels so raw. The heavy metal instrumental and the intense vocals make this part feel like a fight for your life. It’s not super fast paced but it just feels so intense and foreboding. I also want to say that the sprite of the dog in this phase is genuinely kinda scary. It’s one of the only times I ever felt uneasy in an fnf song. I love this sprite so much. It looks so good. Then David and the dog start using atonals. I really like how the atonals sound here. They’re not amazing or anything but they still sound pretty good all things considered (I somewhat agree with what Neo said about David’s atonal. I think David's atonal is kinda weak but still not bad). David also pulls out a zapper gun and it fires along with the music. I really like this addition. It sounds really satisfying and is used perfectly in tandem with the atonals. Then the dog fades away as the song gets one final kick. Then it cuts to what unironically might be my favorite part of the song. We get a little montage of some events that happen soon after this song and they are haunting. This section uses vaporwave music and I think this was a very good choice. Vaporwave is one of the most 80’s things I can think of and it just fits this section so well. The part here almost gives a sense of finality to the rest of the song. The song feels so haunting as we see David bury his own mother. It feels empty but in a good way. I love this part so much and it’s honestly really underrated. Face me is an incredible song. This song and no more are pretty much tied for me. I decided to put face me above no more but these two are honestly interchangeable for me. And although I had a bit less to say about this one than the others I think this song is overall amazing. 2). Mortis (SS) Out of all the songs in step right up, this is the one that has changed positions on my ranking the most. At first this song was my second favorite. But over time it moved down a couple of spots. But after some more listens I can safely say that this song definitely deserves second place. This song is just a bop. It starts with John in a church (I think it’s a church. I have no idea what’s happening in the song because I’ve never played faith) and this first part is a slow build up. It sounds really nice and is a good opening to the song. Then Amy appears. I’m also gonna mention right now how good the sprites in this song look. I don’t know if they are rotoscoped like faith’s cutscenes but they honestly look rotoscoped. It’s at this point where the song picks up. The grim vibe of the song up to this point turns into something much more energetic. This part sounds ridiculously good. Then Amy starts getting closer to John and we get this amazing sounding part with Amy surrounding john. I love how the music sounds in this part. It’s so intense and intimidating and it feels like I’m the one in danger. John then starts singing by himself for a bit. This part sounds like it’s trying to give a moment of respite . The calm before the storm. Because after this, Michael appears. And he sounds even better than Amy. He and John absolutely pop off in a sped up version of Amy’s part. It’s not exactly the same (thankfully) but it still feels like these two have a connection because of how similar their parts sound. John then does another solo quiet part and I adore this section. John sounds so desperate and alone. It seems like he’s finished until Father Garcia comes in. And once again his vocals and chromatic sound heavenly. I especially love that little hold note he does at the end of his second turn. Then all four of them face off in a two v two. I love all of the camera angles that this song uses. They’re not just some static backshot. They all are angled in some way that really emphasizes the situation that John is in. I really love the one for this phase because we get to see a more close up shot of Garcia clutching his shotgun. They just look so cool together! I don’t have much to say about this section other than that it rocks! The two teams take turns singing and I just love how one team leads into the other so well. The back and forth motion of them both taking turns just sounds so good. Both the vocal work and the instrumental of this song just come together to create an absolute banger of a song. Micahel goes in for the kill but Father Garcia pops his head off with his shotgun. Amy and John then sing a callback to Amy’s first part and then we get a breakdown of John singing his final notes. It ends with Amy being banished and the song ends with a chiptune part that wraps the song up nicely. I know I didn’t say that much about this song either. I don’t really have as much to look into as I did with say No More. This song is just a bop with some really good pacing (in my opinion). All of it just sounds amazing and it’s an absolute vibe. Like I said this song shifted around my list quite a bit. Not really due to it becoming worse but more so due to the other songs becoming better. But this song managed to squeeze its way back up into second place for me. Kinda interesting that Neo ranked it sixth but that’s perfectly fine. Neo’s most common complaint was that it’s kinda generic and too compressed. And I don’t disagree with that but I can honestly look past that. It’s not doing anything crazy, it just sounds really good in my opinion.
1). Mind’s Eye Squared (SS+) And finally Mind’s eye squared. This is without a doubt the best song in the mod and also one of my favorite fnf songs ever. The song begins with a very strong opening. Sara and dragon are singing together with him coming out of Sara's computer. This part sounds crazy good. Both Sara and dragon’s vocals are amazing throughout the entire song. Sara’s atonals are especially strong in this song. They sounded good in widespread but they just sound so much better and more desperate here. Like Sara is holding on for any last bit of normalcy she can find. I could literally listen to them for hours and not get sick of it. I also love this thing that they do where they make sara and dragon kinda glitch. As well as this opening part sounding very glitchy as well. Glitchy in a good way. The instrumental is also amazing in this part and the entire song. It’s a perfect opening to the song. After a short cutscene with dragon speaking (who sounds very imposing btw) we begin to get into the meat of this song. Both sara and dragon sing the main motif for this song. This motif sounds INCREDIBLE. This motif genuinely gives me a cold sweat everytime I hear it. It is perfect for this song and it sounds ridiculously good. The instrumental also changes and instead of sounding almost bouncy like the first phase did, it switches to something that sounds more like hardstyle music. It sounds so much more intense and it is great. Dragon takes over our computer in the song (I love it when fnf mods do this) and this is one of the best integrations of this mechanic that I’ve ever seen. The background becomes our background and Dragon bumps around the screen coming out of a window. All of it just feels so well done and I love this little touch. Some people also don’t know that when this mod was first released, This song didn’t have this computer stuff. It was just a black screen. I don’t know if it was a glitch or if the devs just decided to update it but whatever the reason may be I’m glad they did it because it looks so much better. The song feels like Dragon sending Sara down a spiral of madness. Trying to break her to her very core. It makes complete sense that the song sounds like this because Dragon’s method of killing is getting his victims to commit suicide. I love that the song really feels like it embodies this idea of slowly falling deeper and deeper into insanity. Credit to @vyrox71105 for giving me this idea. The song then goes on for a bit and while I don’t have much to say past how good the vocals and hardstyle instrumental are this section is amazing. It sounds so good and is a perfect middle. I will say that I do love when Dragon starts going crazy and popping off. This happens for example right before FAKDOG’s part. Speaking of which, after a really cool winddown and a popping off segment we get to FAKDOG’s part. I LOVE THIS PART SO MUCH. FAKDOG and Sara also pop off, all the while the windows XP background appears and the windows pop up so quickly. There are so many of them and they create an awesome visual here. This part genuinely sounds like it’s trying to harken back to the old internet days. It sounds nostalgic and so full of emotion. This is easily the best part of the song and I cannot gush about how much I love this one specific part. We then switch back to the main motif with Dragon and we are in the final stretch. Is it just me or does Sara sound more…confident in this last section. It feels like she’s done with Dragons crap and she’s ready to face him one on one. This last part is a great sounding sendoff to this song. I also love how the song sounds like it’s glitching and then crashes the game after it’s done. Even in the official visualizer for this song, at the end the screen gets a little bit brighter like the application is about to crash. I cannot get over how much I love this song. Everything about it is perfect. I’ve listened to criticisms like the FAKDOG part is too big of a tonal change or that the glitchy ending sounds bad. But I honestly cannot find any negative things about this song that I agree with. I cannot think of any flaws in this song (at least in my opinion). This song is so ridiculously good and I can listen to it over and over again without ever getting tired. It is honestly a contender for the best fnf song ever in my opinion. And that was my silly little rambling about the music of this amazing mod. I love Step Right Up and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to play it blind. Thanks for reading this far and for putting up with me. Keep in mind that I don’t know music theory or anything and everything I talked about is just how I feel about the songs in my heart. So if there are any actual musicians who had no clue what I was talking about half the time then my bad. If you disagree with my rankings and opinions I would love to hear what you have to say in the replies. Overall this mod is an absolute must play (or listen) and I just love it so much.
@@Retreg5 I had just read this whole thing (wow ☠️) and I pretty much agree with all of your points and ranking (though I personally ranked Face Me higher at No.2 over Mortis since I’ve actually grown quite fond of it over subsequent re-listenings). Some points that I want to add to this whole thing: 1. NASU isn’t too bad imo but your point still stands 2. Fr bro, the Gallery theme is such a vibe to listen to and people definitely need to give it more recognition 3. The black blob at the end of Deep Dream is named Uboa (also at the end of the song, Madotsuki k@lls herself ☠️) 4. I actually like Widespread ever since I heard it for the first time though it got lower on my list due to some others outshining it (also the Smile Dog in the song are actually two separate characters, Phase 1 is named Husky while Phase 2 is named Demon) 5. Yeah he’s just called The Dog (though he’s called the Duck Season Dog to differentiate him from the actual character in Duck Hunt). Also, the Dog is quiet in Part 1 due to it being in mono (you have to switch the setting to stereo for some reason). 5. Mortis has John start off in the Martin Household in Chapter 1 of the game (essentially, Amy’s house). Also, I don’t think the animation is rotoscoped like how it is in the actual game itself (if anything, it’s a really good attempt at emulating it). 6. Thanks for the mention (the whole song kinda feels like one big mental attack so I think it emulates it perfectly). Also I think Mind’s Eye Squared had a black screen in its pre-hotfix update due to it being a bug in it not being able to get the main mechanics of the song working properly. That’s all I really have to say (I think). Goodbye for now.
This is a very good mod and I definitely has some very good mods in it and this tier list I honestly agree with all the songs are at least good in some way if I had to change anything I would swap deep dream and mortis because I personally think mortis is just a little bit better but there all good songs and very happy to see that face me ranked up high it’s the thing that introduced me to step right up and the song is just very good
I am not the guy who asks for requests but... I do wish you would review on the fnf mod called "FNF Weekly" and there is is few good and misses... Some will make you feel old and some will feel like shit post and there will be alot of refrences (including earlier days of fnf modding that is about Zardy and Sunday)... And there is actually good Pico Chromatics in the songs which is Hella impressive... And please support the devs behind this because as you guessed it, each week is made within a week, so be impressed about it.
Also, note. Each of them have very very interasting vocals. And some are weird like Gorden Ramsey one and that...er..."PIG". You would get what I mean if you play the mod.
@@godboy_godliness Yeah, it’s a bit iffy that he ranked it that low (I would’ve personally ranked it at No. 2/3). But then again, it’s his opinion at the end of the day.
Personal tier list: 1st: Mind's Eye (Perfection. Perfect Vocals, Chorus, and everything! This one's probably one of the best FNF songs period, well, there are songs that are definitely better, but this one's pretty high up there. At least top 25 songs (currently) of all time at minimum.) 2nd: Mortis (Personally I think this is tied with number 1 but if I had to pick I'd pick the other one mainly because this one's a bit hard on the ears (literally the only reason, which is why I criticize digital FNF songs a lot). But it is still WONDERFUL.) 3rd: No More (Honestly? Just the beat and Vocals, the big periods of time are kinda like "when is it going to come?" kind of feeling, which I enjoy a lot!) 4th: Deep Dream (It's such a soothing lullaby that at the end gets broken by a creepy silence, I could probably fall asleep to that on repeat.) (The above are all in my playlist of over 200 FNF songs) 5th: Wide Spread (Not the biggest fan of the vocals, and I agree that Sara's are better than the other song. And a bit repetitive which I don't normally have a problem with in songs.) 6th: Nasu (Nice short preview of what's yet to come, but like you said, it's short.) 7th: Face Me (I can hear him, just wish he was more loud and "powerful", and the vocals arebt that good... sorry Neo) 8th: The song I refuse to name because it sucks.
So I got done watching this and holy shit. Peak ranking video and it starts with LORE? FUCKING LORE? This is why I funkin' love this channel. The rankings are pretty understandable, especially Mortis which in my eyes is kinda overrated, not bad, pretty good actually, just overrated. Also, the gameplay on this video isn't the one from the hotfix, which means you missed out on a lot of extra cool shit in Mind's Eye² but oh well. I'm just gonna leave my ranking here and uhhhh see the chaos emerge in the chat. 8. Evilkaru - 6.5/10 7. Face Me - 7/10 6. Nasu - 7/10 5. Mortis - 8/10 4. Deep Dream - 9/10 3. No More - 10/10 2. Widespread - 11/10 1. Mind's Eye Squared - 11/10 Those are my opinions on this mod's soundtrack. Extremely based Widespread pick, never seen someone claim that Widespread is their absolute favourite song in the whole mod so yeah that's pretty cool. Thanks for the birthday gift also ;D
Huh Mortis at 6, you know off key doesn’t matter if it fits the character/game and still keeps the flow, and the compression on faith make sense became the game looks like it’s from a Macintosh, the game with its rotoscope and bit rush music is supposed to illicit the uncanny I’m probably bad at explaining why it is like it is. TLDR faith is a complicated game and off key can still sound good especially in horror.
This comment makes no sense. What you’re basically saying is: “A song can have a fixable error if it fits the game which has nothing to do with the actual music” Which no.💀Being off key quite literally doesn’t have a single excuse.
@@Neos-Studio yeah I should have elaborated better, being off key a bits add to the horror esthetic as it sounds/ feels rough, uncomfortable and uncanny, like your actually dealing with a feral possession while still keeping a great flow but to be honest it’s my opinion I don’t mind the third act but if you dislike it it’s fine.
@@Neos-Studio one example of off key adding to a song is mistful mornings doomsday adding to the feeling that squidward is truly breaking down especially at the end!
If you all are you gonna say that I'm rude for saying to cry about it for not liking the dubstep part in no more... I respect your opinion but I want no more to be loved more and I'm tired of mortis and the other songs overshadowing it. Could I have phrased it nicer, maybe yea, but... Idk man I'm tired of no more slander, so consider this my apology to no more haters and lovers
can you make a tier list about FNF Weekly songs? there's a lot of really good and some really bad songs in there too, so it would be kinda cool to see the placements
@@trichyketchupHi. I’ve seen your ranking video and I think it’s pretty good (I only thing I disagree with was your Face Me ranking, mainly with your criticism for Part 2. But then again, it’s your opinion at the end of the day).
My personal rankings 1 - Mortis - Surprise surprise. I love the super crunchy chromatics (the part that lasts like two turns with just Mike and Dad goes crazy) 2 - Face Me P1 - I feel so overdue! 3 - DeepDream - I tend to like more fun, chill songs like this one, even if it gets all spooky at the end the rest of the song is very warm-feeling. Dunno what a yoomy nicky is but the song is vibes 4 - Mind’s Eye Squared - More like Mid’s Eye Squared. I really don’t get the hype for this one. The song is good enough, but so many people are treating it like it’s the best thing ever. Paranoia better MM stay winning 5 - No More - This song is just ok to me. No strong feelings. 6 - Widespread - I feel the same way about this song I do the 2 above it, but the part where the chromatic goes super high really bothers me for some reason. Like, ma’am, your voice is not a synth. 7 - Nasu - What if DeepDream was shorter and also worse? 8 - Evil Karu- Boring song but who cares it’s not meant to be groundbreaking 9 - Face Me P2 - It’s not P1 so I hate it grrr Ok in all seriousness, I don’t dislike Face Me P2, and Face Me is still my #2 pick, but I do prefer P1. P1 is a total bop while P2 feels like it’s going for a more atmospheric and intense approach. I can respect that, but it’s not what I really want while listening to music.
Ok, so I’ve read on some of the reasonings for your rankings and here are my responses to them: 1. I’m not surprised that Mortis is your No.1 since it’s the literal fan favourite (even if it’s not my own personal favourite). I don’t have anything else to really add to your point since I do agree with it, though I would like to ask, who is Dad (if you meant Father Garcia, then ok. Also, Mike’s full name is Michael Davies but you probably already knew that) 2. I definitely get that it’s your favourite part of Face Me since everyone that I’ve seen also loves it too for how perfect it is in emulating a genuine 8-Bit 80’s classic 1v1 boss battle game like in the original game (even if this part isn’t my personal favourite Part of the song) - Glad to know that you rank it as your second favourite song in the mod though because I also rank it in 2nd place on my list too (many people that I’ve seen don’t which is a shame but fair) 3. Yeah, Deep Dream is definitely very fun to vibe with (and the ending does a very good job at creating a genuinely effective scare which I like). I also like how dreamy and soothing it is throughout its runtime which makes sense because the entire mood is intended to be one. Also to add in regards to what Yume Nikki is: It’s a very old indie horror game that focuses on Madotsuki’s exploration of the Dream World. The game itself doesn’t have any actual lore/linear storytelling, rather the story is interpreted by the player in terms of looking around at the visually abstract and intricately creative environmental atmosphere of the Dream World (this then gives you ideas in piecing the puzzles on what the story could mean via the many complex/deeply heavy themes emanated from Yume Nikki such as social isolation and s@icide). Hope this helps give you a bit of a better insight 4. Mid’s Eye Squared? MID’S EYE SQUARED!? HOW DARE YOU! MIND’S EYE SQUARED IS LITERALLY THE BEST SONG IN THE MOD EVER AND I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS SLANDER 😡😡😡!!! Ok, but in all seriousness, Mind’s Eye Squared is literally considered to be the best one in the mod by many due to it sounding REALLY good and intense with it’s very consistently well done beat/instrumentals/melody (it’s enough for some to consider the song to be arguably better than Mortis too). For me, I am a REALLY avid defender/massive fan of Mind’s Eye Squared and I will forever praise it until the day I die (I’ve been listening to the song more times than anyone could count which made it grow on me a lot - It’s literally my everyday song now). However, with that being said, I only think that Mind’s Eye Squared is the absolute best in the mod ONLY because as a general song overall, it’s just good enough in my eyes for it to not be considered too basic since the song itself isn’t too revolutionary but that it does everything right in a safely tamed way if you get what I mean (also, I’ve been seeing some people compare this song to Paranoia from Mario’s Madness in terms of them having the same vibe and to be honest, I can kinda see it) 5. No More is such a genuine bop since everything about it is done so perfectly well imo (though I can get as to why you wouldn’t have any strong feelings towards it since it’s not often too well favoured by many, as well as the fact that many also have their own preferred favourites too - all of that still doesn’t make the song bad at the end of the day though since the positives make it stand out a lot) 6. Although Widespread isn’t too well favoured by many (myself included), that still doesn’t make the song bad by any means as I genuinely love the HARD instrumental beats of Phase 1 (Phase 2 is just good to me since it kinda lacks the same substance that Phase 1 had but whatever). Also, for your criticism on Sara’s synth-sounding vocals, I get what you mean by it bothering you since it doesn’t sound naturally human at all (some people that I’ve seen also had this same problem for Widespread as well), but I personal don’t care because I really like how groovy it sounds and that it works well in building up suspense/anticipation for the intense parts (also it’s a song, so of course its gonna sound like that but take it as you will) 7. I get that’s how people often view NASU since it’s not too notable in the mod at all (next to Evilkaru LOL), but I actually kinda like the song since it’s not too bad to listen at all imo (I also don’t really like to think that NASU a worse version of Deep Dream and rather that Deep Dream is a better/improved version of NASU) 8. I IRONICALLY like Evilkaru for some weird reason but yeah, I agree in it not being too groundbreaking (besides, it’s not that bad imo but take it as you will) 9. So you’re one of those people with Face Me Part 2 then (also you count it as a separate song? I usually count it with Part 1 to make it one whole song which is the point but I digress). While I can get behind in you not preferring Part 2’s intensely dreadful style of music compared to Part 1’s perfectly well done 8-Bit 80’s game music (everyone that I’ve seen seems to be like this as well which is fair), I don’t really think that should even be a negative for the song/part at all. Yeah, it essentially comes down to personal preference at the end of the day and that’s fine, but I personally disagree with your point of view (only somewhat since you still respect Part 2’s attempt at capturing it’s intended mood which I can get by) because I genuinely like Part 2 a lot, mainly due to me REALLY liking the intensely dreadful rock music and that it’s a perfect payoff that Part 1 was building up to which CARRIES the song heavily imo (it’s the biggest reason as to why Face Me is my personal favourite in the mod’s roster besides Mind’s Eye Squared as I’ve also listen to it more times than I could count). However, you're still free to stand by your own view if you want That’s basically all I have for now. Let me know what you think and whether you agree/disagree with my points. Goodbye.
@@vyrox71105 1. Yeah ik their names I was just having a laugh. 2. The entire tangent about P2 being bad was entirely humorous and the second place slot goes to both parts together. I do still like P1 a lot more though and I think the fact that they’re so vastly different justifies them being counted as separate, and If I were to count them as separate P2 would probably be in 5th place. 3. I know what Yume Nikki is I was just trolling 4. Mind’s Eye Squared is a good song. I’m just making fun of it because I do think it’s overrated. Also the Paranoia part wasn’t a joke I unironically prefer it to this song 5. I don’t think this song is bad. It’s aight. I like the melody in the final section. Honestly I think this song and 6th place are pretty interchangeable 6. Again, I think this song is good. I didn’t mention this last time but I LOVE all the dogs’ chromatic (this applies to MDS as well), especially Husky. Sarah’s chromatic is usually pretty good but the part I mentioned does genuinely bother me 7. No comment. Deep Dream is good so this song is good, though the existence of Deep Dream makes NASU feel pretty pointless 8. I mean it’s ok there are better joke songs
@@retronoodles_but_cooler Sorry for this late response (I had to sleep pretty early). Anyways, here are some things that I want to add to your new points: 1. Oh ok. I thought you didn’t know so I wanted to point it out in case 2. Fair enough. Though I get that both parts are completely different in terms of the music/vibe, I still count them together as one song since that’s the point, as well as the fact that both parts blend in well together if you get what I mean (also Face Me Part 2 in 5th place if it was separate? 😢) 3. I assume that you didn’t since many people who checked out the mod don’t really seem to know Yume Nikki all too well (I only knew what the game was by name but didn’t know too much of it until I started looking it up) 4. Though I get that it’s a bit overrated at times, I don’t really think Mind’s Eye Squared is too overrated like you want to view it since I think that it’s actually underrated (especially when you compare it to Mortis which many people that I’ve seen seems to glaze over to death like it’s some sort of godly flawless song which I don’t necessarily agree with - Essentially, I view Mortis the same you view Mind’s Eye Squared but take it as you will). Also, I think Paranoia and Mind’s Eye Squared are on the same level as each other, although I do agree that the former is a bit better than the latter (it’s sooo freaking HARD for no reason and I love it) 5. That’s fine. And while I can agree that the final section’s melody is pretty good (as well as the fact that it has the “No More Mama” chanting as an added bonus), I don’t really like it all too much since it’s essentially just a shorter/more washed-down version of the beginning imo (it also feels like the finale lacks the same amount of substance and care that the middle section had but that still doesn’t make it all too bad though) 6. Glad that you love all of the dogs’ vocals because they’re sooo good to listen to (my favourite is either Husky’s for how much of a bop it is, or Dragon’s for how loud and intensely frantic it sounds). But even if Sara’s synth-wave vocals bother you a lot (which is fine, I’m not trying to change your viewpoint at all and you can stand by it), I still think it sounds good to me but I digress 7. I wouldn’t think that Deep Dream makes NASU feel like a pointless inclusion since to me, the latter basically serves as a prologue to the former (the best way I can describe this is that NASU is a small appetizer while Deep Dream is the full main course - You can still listen to both separately but I like to listen to them together to serve the purpose that I just mentioned) 8. I get it. It’s not horrendously awful at all but I definitely agree that there are other better joke songs like Nourishing Blood from Mario’s Madness That’s all I should have for now. Again, if you like to view the songs in the way you want then that’s fine since I don’t want to forcibly change your opinion or think that it’s wrong at all (we all have different opinions for a reason). I just wanted to give my own perspective on how I passionately view each and every one of the OSTs since all of them are very unique and good for what they are (also the fact that there’s people who will fully defend what song is their absolute best in the mod is a crazy achievement to me so kudos to that). Anyways, have a good day.
Okay will say this I was not expecting widespread of being first plus I got done playing mod and listening to it was cool but it use to be low in my tier list mostly because the music melody is more into a rave like style. But after a re listening I started to gorw on me and it does have a more better tracking pace then the other songs though all them are good
As someone who loves Love N Funkin and listens too it very often, and listening to that and No More side by side, at the most they are similar. But I’m pretty sure they’re different chromatics.
@@vyrox71105 yea, if the non-mortis fans say "oh its compressed that means its bad" YALL JUST HAVE A SKILL ISSUE because its so good Its just when its compressed into a banger with compressed vocals make it more better than So retro *ahem So retro is so compressed* that i can vibe with Mortis #JUSTICEFORMORTIS
It has nothing to do with a skill issue. Some people just don’t like compressed vocals. It’s a style of music not everyone likes. And personally I don’t really love FNF songs that use compression since the vocals often end up sounding either muffled and too rough for me to really enjoy as much as clean vocals. And I never said Mortis was bad. I just said I didn’t like it that much compared to the others that were better in my opinion.
The vocals are literally compressed. That’s basically the entire style of Mortis. The vocals are sampled from the game’s original voices which already were compressed in the first place.
Mortis at 6th place makes me littelbit sad but hey this is just a ranking not from me. And my other favorit Face me is in the top 3 what makes me happy again
Great video as always. Here's my ranking (only main 5, no secret or joke songs) 8- Evilkaru- D tier 7- Nasu- C tier 6- Deep Dream- B tier 5- Mortis- A tier 4- Face Me- S tier 3- Minds eyes squared- S tier 2- Widespread- SS tier 1- No more- SS tier
This might be a hot take, but I'm not a huge fan of No More and Face me for the same reason I don't like Promotion and Dark Forest; They don't do enough justice to their source material. I know it's hard to pack that much into a song without making it too long, but Tattletail and Duck Season (and by extension 'The and Mario 64 Classified) have so much untapped potential. I wish they utilized the dog's bossfight, or the Kaleidoscope DLC, but they don't and that makes me upset.
I'll be honest. I would've liked Face Me if phase 1 was better. It felt a bit too long compared to the masterpiece that is phase 2. Also the dog's vocals are a bit hard to hear at times in phase 1, idk what you hear
@@Banjadu You love Face Me Part 2 more than Part 1? 😎 (also, the Dog’s vocals are quiet in Part 1 due to it being in mono. Switching to stereo kinda helps).
I respect ur opinions and usually agree. This might be the most I've disagreed with you. Mortis might be the best fnf song I've ever heard in my opinion. It's up there. But is still respect your opinion
Might as well post my rankings for the songs since everyone else is doing it. 🫠 .1) WideSpread (S++) this song rocks; everything about it is good.🐕 .2?) Face Me (S+) this song is so good but the kid’s atonals ruined it. 🐶 .3?) M.E.S. (S+) great song but the atonals sound off in some parts. [also I can’t tell if this song should be .2 or not because F.M. also sounds really good 😭]🦮 .4) No More (S) dubstep my beloved~ [the song is too empty at the start imo]🎁 #5 MORtIS (S) Micheal ruins this song for me.🌲 .6) D.D. (S) Nice progressive song but it feels very different from the others tone-wise.🚦 The rest suck ass.
Some points that I have to your ranking: 1. I can see why many love this song and I can respect that (Phase 1 goes unnecessarily HARD while Phase 2 is just good to me) 2. Face Me at your No. 2? Respect to you my guy cus many people don’t love this song too much, mainly due to them not liking Part 2 to which I disagree with because it’s the best in the song (I would even go as far as to say that it carries it for me). I can get you not liking the atonal for David but to be honest, I can get behind it since it isn’t really too bad imo 3. Mind’s Eye Squared at No. 3? 😭 (no hate tho). I think it’s the best song in the mod (but ONLY in the mod) and to me, the atonals for both Sara and the Dragon are pretty good and I have no problems with it, mainly because I think it works in portraying a frantic and paranoid vibe that the song gives 3. No More’s dubstep is the BEST in the song no questions asked (some may disagree), although I think the long intro is fine because I think it perfectly sets up a very suspenseful and intense vibe before it fully goes in to the awesome beat that the songs have (I can still get behind on why you don’t like it tho since it is pretty long) 5. Michael’s part in Mortis is my ABSOLUTE favourite in the song and I will stand by this because it has a very fast paced and consistent beat to which I vibe with every time I hear it (everything else in the mod is good tho) 6. I think it’s good for what it is but I can see your point of view (also, this song gets outshined by the other 5 songs in the mod so yeah) 7. NASU is fine and I ironically like Evilkaru (even if it’s bad to many which I get) That’s all I have now. Overall, pretty fair ranking.
For the fans of mind's eye squared, I'll give you the following information, if you put the game in window mode in the famous mechanic section of the song, you will see that your desktop is still normal, so the song does not take over your desktop, it just imitates it.

@@MrBastionOverwatch0 Fair ranking. Also yeah, I have the same feeling with my top 3 as well, although one of the songs is Face Me instead of No More.
Fun premiere! words cannot describe how happy i am with mortis’ placement
The only things i would change about the list would be swapping “Face Me” with “No More” and “MINDS EYE SQUARED” with “Widespread”, i love widespread so muchh but MES is my favorite song ever made ever, love the dynamic between sara and dragon and how it noticeably shifts later in the song, from dragon dominating in the first part to sara being the one to sing first after FAKdogs section instead of dragon, her tone changing from being audibly scared to what i interpret as confidence, not a single bad part in it imo might be my favorite thing ever actually.
And more personally SRU inspired me to actually start doing stuff and makes me want to make more ocs and write more bc of SRU’s banger character designs (specifically sara and thumper, thumper is so slept on bro), and the arg with sara thats going on that gives more background about her character (she just like me fo real no friends only evil jpegs to keep me company)
One of my favorite past times is stalking various SRU developer twitter accounts and looking at all the fanart they receive, it is genuinely so heartwarming to see people who love this mod as much as i do post their own artwork, their own fan ocs, and their own mini comics featuring the SRU cast.
YO SARA CAN SURVIVE LETS GO! Alright Widespread just got 10 more points in awesomeness.
@@soup5991 I love the Gallery theme as well. It’s such a vibe to listen to.
Also to add to your point as to why people made "Sara is a baddie tho" joke, it's because many people found her design to be extremely well cute and fine-looking. As such, they've then decided that it would be very funny to make those said "interesting" jokes just for personal giggles (for me, I don't really know myself but I just jumped in on it because why not 🤪).

calling mortis the worst of the main 6 is kinda rough in the sense that calling something “worse” implies it’s bad, it’s just weaker
aside from that, pretty good video!
@@iMixen Yeah, I see Mortis as a really good song but with some notable flaws (these flaws aren’t too devastating for the song to be ranked lower imo so it’s kinda interesting that Neo ranked it pretty low).
Here are some more fun facts that you either didn’t know or missed out:
Evilkaru: The main reason as to why this secret song even exists is because the director of the mod, TheRoyalTony, thought it would be a very funny surprise for Penkaru when he plays the mod (I found this out when he uploaded his playthrough where he said that during a trip with TheRoyalTony one day, Penkaru told him in a conversation that if he found any funny surprises relating to him in any way, he would lose it. He then immediately later said that TheRoyalTony’s response/reaction to what he said was “So… you wouldn’t like it if we did that then?”, to which Penkaru then became suspicious of as to what he meant by that until his playthrough of the mod months later).
Mortis:
1. The cinematic cutscene where John and Father Garcia do the bro handshake at the end of Mortis/The True Ending run in Chapter 3 of Faith is a supposed reference to the where actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers locked arms together in the beginning cutscene of “The Predator”
2. Omni-Man was used as a base reference for Father Garcia’s sprites (☠️)
3. Michael is based off from spiders and is over 6ft and 2 inches tall
4. Airdoff, the creator of Faith, has acknowledged the mod
Deep Dream:
1. Madotsuki, Monoe, Monoko and Poniko’s vocal chromatics are sampled from actual people (in respective order, these people are Koiwai Kotori, Saku Mizuno, Maria Naganawa and Tara Strong)
2. Uboa bears resemblance to Gaster from Undertale which many have pointed out despite the former predating the latter
3. At the end of the song/game, Madotsuki k@lls herself by jumping off from her balcony via climbing up a ladder to do so (the ending cutscene of Deep Dream uses the same ending cutscene of the game)
4. There’s a Saster motif in Monoko’s phase as stated by the composer of the song, Eden’s Essence (it’s from the official visualiser for Deep Dream)
No More:
1. Apparently, there was an early version of both Mama’s and Tattletail’s sprites that were mistakenly included in an FNF mod called Funkin’ Peanuts.
2. Ruby was originally going to die at the end of No More but it ended up not coming to fruition and was cut out of the mod entirely
Face Me:
1. The Dog’s vocals were sampled from William Dafoe as you mentioned, although it’s specifically from the Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 tie in-game where he played the Green Goblin (because of this, I essentially call him the Dog Goblin now)
2. David is based off from the Kazoo Kid and his favourite mod is ironically the main one being discussed about, which is Adventure Isle (for reference, Ruby’s is Dead Air while Sara’s is Bop City)
3. Apparently, there’s the Metal Pipe sound effect that faintly plays in the background at the end of Part 1/beginning of Part 2 but in reverse
Mind’s Eye Squared:
1. This song is actually a remix of an original variant of the same name but it has a much slower tempo, it does not have the Squared in its title, and the FAKDOG section is completely nonexistent in the song entirely since it was only made specifically and exclusively for this mod by one of the artist named MacCheese (it’s called Mind’s Eye by blackberri/samiiwave and is available on UA-cam)
2. The web series that the song is based off from, Chainmail Chasers, is actually canon to the universe of this mod (The creators themselves have also acknowledged the mod too)
3. The Dragon is a 25+ year old cognitohazard basilisk and is based off from a black Labrador
4. There’s a second version of this song that has a slightly different intro sequence, it doesn’t have the Dragon’s voice lines and has an immediate cut off at the end of the song (this one is labeled as the OST version that was uploaded onto UA-cam/Spotify by the official developers of Step Right Up)
5. Sara likes wolves and dogs, (how ironically fitting don’t you think 😉), with her favourite in general being Siberian Huskies (she had one named Bella that ran away from her 6 years ago). She also appeared in an analogue horror UA-cam video called “The Interview” uploaded by the Official Step Right Up channel which takes place one week prior to the events that she experienced in Widespread/Mind’s Eye Squared
That’s basically all of the fun facts I have (at least ones that I thought were noteworthy). I’m gonna watch this video a couple of times so that I can make a proper and well articulated response on some of the things that I agree and disagree with on Neo’s points. Be patient with this though as this is probably gonna take a few hours to full on days depending on whether or not I’m busy with things. Goodbye for now.
Cool facts! Also is Sara’s favorite mod being bop city cannon?
@@Retreg5 It’s from one of the many art doodles made by one of the artists for the mod. As for it being canon, I’m not too sure because it mainly seems like it added for fun (don’t quote me on this though).
Oh can’t wait this going to be good I haven’t seen the songs so I want to see what songs I want to listen to a lot after the rank

Post watch edit: YES, THIS HAS EVERYTHING I LOVE IN A NEO STUDIO VIDEO
HOT TAKES! MORTIS AS THE BOTTOM 6!

Same.
Some extra things to go over:
1. NASU does do a good job at referencing the original game of the same name in Yume Nikki, even though many people (myself included) don’t know too much of it aside from some quick Google searches - Fun Fact: NASU comes from the Japanese word nasubi, which means eggplant (makes sense since the original game being referenced involves eggplants as a main gimmick)
2. Even if you count it as a separate song (which it is, don’t get me wrong), I still like to view it as a prologue to Deep Dream (the best way that I can describe this is that NASU serves an initial appetizer while Deep Dream is the full main course). While you can listen to both separately, I prefer to listen to them together to get the full experience
3. Hope this helps give you a bit of a better insight
Overall, I give NASU 6/10.
One thing that I have to mention about this song:
1. The reason as to why Evilkaru was even added into the mod was because TheRoyalTony (the mod’s director) thought that it would have been a very funny surprise for Penkaru when he played it (he lost his sh!t in a good way when he encountered the song). Essentially, the entire general conception of this joke song was that it was specifically/exclusively made for the sole purpose of getting a funny reaction out of Penkaru (he confirmed this on his playthrough of the mod where he said that during a trip with TheRoyalTony one day, Penkaru said that if there were any funny surprises relating to him in any way then he would absolutely lose it, too which TheRoyalTony then suspiciously responded with “So… you wouldn’t like it if we did that then?”)
Overall, I give Evilkaru 6/10.
Each of Mortis’s phases are also really good to listen to on their own merits, although I do have a bit to say about each of them:
Amy’s Phase:
1. The opening does a very good job at creating an anticipative build-up for the main section of this phase (it makes you excitedly wait to see/hear what happens next)
2. John’s vocals are GODLY in the intro (and for the rest of Mortis for that matter) as it’s consistently engaging and never boring at all to listen to
3. Amy’s demonically screeching vocals are pretty decent/groovy at times - She also sounds like she’s genuinely tweaking due to being a possessed vessel for demons like in the original game so that’s a neat detail
4. The choppy and compressed instrumentals actually kind of works for this song imo as it perfectly emulates the old and classic 80’s Atari arcade game vibe present in the original game
5. Whilst the pacing does feel repetitively long/dragged out in Amy’s main part, I think it works because the repetition of the melodies/beat make this entire section feel very consistent utilized to its fullest potential
6. The multiple Amy clones part (or the ‘Overdue Moment” as I like to call it since it bears resemblance to the ending section in Overdue from Mario’s Madness) is the BEST of her phase as the fast paced beat/intense popoff perfectly captures the feeling of John being completely overwhelmed by Amy’s power, though the way how this section just kind of ends abruptly and moves on to the next phase really ruins it for me because it felt like there was going to be more but that it just decided to randomly cut off for some inexplicable reason
Michael’s Phase (The BEST part of the song and I will stand by this till the day I die!):
1. The sudden shift to this phase kinda creates an ‘on edge’/ominous vibe as if John has been randomly sent to go fight off against another unknown evil force (John’s solo is also pretty good)
2. The transition from Michael’s intro cutscene to his proper reveal works wonders for me, and the two popping off to each other back-and-forth makes it WAY better than it should (it sounds like a rap battle between the two characters but that one tries to completely overwhelm the other)
3. Their forest battle is also really good and I rock with the energetic and intensely fast-paced vibe/mood set out (it also feels consistently similar to Amy’s section which I like)
4. I actually think Michael’s vocals are great because it being off-tuned and rough kinda makes him sound like he’s some sort of an incomprehensibly wild and frantic animal waiting to strike if you get what I mean (it’s also fitting in the fact that he literally speaks constant nonsense all the time and that he’s referred to looking like a chupacabra in the game)
Transition Phase:
1. I do NOT like John’s solo transition at all (and it’s not just because of the random footstep noises in the background) - The sudden tonal shift to a slow and more melancholic vibe kinda disrupts and ruins the consistent fast-pace vibe that the first two phases were building up/maintaining (it essentially cuts off the intensity so abruptly for a slow calm break which I don’t like because it doesn’t do it well imo)
Garcia’s Section/Confrontation Phase:
1. I very much like his vocals even if they’re muffled (it pretty much fits with him being a 70+ year old Hispanic shotgun-wielding BADA$$!)
2. I also really like the slow rock-style instrumentals as it works really well and is much better than John’s solo phase imo (him also being paired with Michael is also genius to me as it closely ties into their relationship in Chapter 2 of Faith)
3. The heavy metal instruments, the characters’ back-and-forth singing and the awesome melodies are pretty good for this phase and they all work really well in conveying a proper urgent battle between the two opposing forces (shoutout to @darkbowser7299 for giving me this idea because it really helps me appreciate it more)
4. One of my personal gripes for the Confrontation is that in the mid-section, some of the characters kinda get interrupted in singing their melodies and that they don’t really get to fully finish their parts which makes the whole thing feel ‘broken’/choppy if you get what I mean (this essentially takes me out of being fully immersed into the battle because it feels too inconsistent/stiff for me to like)
5. Another thing that I also don’t really like about the Confrontation is that it’s completely built off from the horrible Solo Transition, which makes this feel like a completely different song that was tagged in very badly if you get my gist
Final Phase:
1. The beginning section between John and Amy is okay since it’s essentially just a rushed/watered-down version of the 1st Phase (though I can still appreciate it since the transition from the Confrontation is pretty good and it also brings back the consistently fast-paced beat that I liked)
2. John’s vocals in his solo are spectacular, and the instrumentals/melodies are on point as it really helps sell the idea that he’s finally giving his all into performing the exorcism against Amy like how he did in the True Ending Run of Chapter 3 in Faith
3. The 8-bit Atari music playing in conjunction with the cutscene of John and Father Garcia doing their GOATED bro handshake from the original game before ending everything off with the Faith title card popping up is very nice and I vibe with it a lot (it also helps sell this phase/song for me as it ends everything off on such a high note and that it perfectly wraps up everything that you’ve experienced in such a good way)
Overall, I give Mortis an 8/10.
With all that aside, here are my points phase by phase:
Madotsuki’s Phase:
1. Madotsuki’s vocal chromatics are BEAUTIFUL to hear since it makes her sound very innocent/cute
2. The instrumentals are good but the melody is definitely the biggest highlight for me, mainly with the main motif/chorus sung throughout this phase and for the rest of Deep Dream (it sounds very dreamy which I like)
3. The entire vibe of this phase just sounds very nice as it feels like Madotsuki is exploring the vastly abstract and unknown territory that is the Dream World
Monoe’s Phase:
1. While good to listen to, this is probably my least favourite phase in Deep Dream as Monoe’s chromatics/melodies sound just decent but not too notable (also her name is a play on the word monochrome so make of that what you will)
2. I do like how weird and snarky the instrumentals are in the first half (makes sense in the fact that Monoe has this somewhat smug and unusual vibe, especially with her funny facial expressions)
3. I also like how the atmospheric tone immediately changes from a tranquil vibe in the 1st Phase to a weird/uneasy feeling when Madotsuki confronts Monoe before going a bit euphoric in the second half
4. Their duet together is beautiful as it brings back the beautiful motif/chorus that I love (it sounds very nice when the two bounce each other off)
Monoko’s Phase:
1. I REALLY like this phase a lot as it’s definitely a certified jam to vibe with
2. Whilst the beginning felt like it wasn’t transitioned very well, I can forgive it as the suddenness of Madotsuki and Monoe randomly stumbling across a new character works really well in conveying the confusion of this phase
3. The super memorably fast-paced and wavey instrumentals (as well as the vibrant melodies) give off a very playful and anime-esque feeling which I love
5. At the part where they ride on the flying broom (kinda gives me a Little Witch Academia/Kiki’s Service Delivery vibe), it once again brings back the main motif/chorus but in a more magical feeling which I can enjoy
Poniko’s Phase (this is probably my personal favourite one of the entire bunch):
1. Poniko’s vocal chromatic makes her sound a bit nonchalant/non-caring which adds to a bit of personality to her like the rest of the girls in Deep Dream (I also want to point out that her chromatics are sampled from Tara Strong - Yes, THAT Tara Strong)
2. The calm and comfy feeling of being in a very safe bright room is prominent here (it also adds a false sense of security that effectively comes into play in the ending)
3. I personally like the LoFi instrumentals a lot since it pretty much solidifies that feeling of calmness and the sense that Madotsuki is in a really good deep dream this far into the song (I also like how all the four girls sing together as if they are perfectly relaxing/having fun in Poniko’s room)
4. The adventurous bike section brings back the beautifully memorable main motif/chorus again (though not as great and impactful as before), and I love that all four girls get their chance to sing each part of it (it also doesn’t sound off so it earns some more praises for me)
Ending:
1. The ending is so perfect and is probably the best part in Deep Dream - The song does an effective attempt at creating a very genuine scare as the sudden abrupt cut of the calm and peaceful vibe to an immediate dead silence adds to the feeling of something having unwillingly hijacked/interrupted Madotsuki’s beautiful dream (in this case, it’s the Uboa)
2. I love how Uboa looks/sounds so unnerving because it makes his presence alone genuinely uncomfortable to be around
3. Madotsuki’s suspenseful one-on-one confrontation with the Uboa is amazing as the moment the latter takes control and blankly stares at the former with zero emotion, the situation becomes cold and tense - This leads to a moment where Madotsuki desperately tries her best in singing the main motif/chorus so that she can continue her beautiful dream again and avoid the horrible nightmare emanated from Uboa’s creepiness, but as she does so, she eventually becomes overwhelmed with the fact that it’s not working at all (it also doesn’t help that Uboa then begins gaslighting her to wake up which she doesn’t want to)
4. The final part is then completely built up to the point where Madotsuki has no choice but to sadly pinch herself to wake up as there’s nothing that she can do to fix it now which I find very good
Before I get to my points, there’s two things that I want to clarify:
1. The main protagonist of Tattletail is also ungendered since the game itself never fully implies whether or not they are a boy or girl (they essentially just simply serve the purpose of allowing the player to fill themselves into the character’s shoes)
2. There is no set order of songs in Step Right Up as the main gimmick of the mod is getting a randomly selected song on the spinning wheel (makes sense because the mod itself is aesthetically based off on an amusement theme park) - However, if we are to go with the UA-cam album uploaded by the official Step Right Up channel, then Widespread is actually the first song on the list with No More following suit (make of that what you will though)
With those tangents aside, here goes:
Beginning Phase:
1. Despite it taking a bit too long for the song to fully start, I still like the long intro as the ominous melodic hum at the beginning to a dreadful tune works well in effectively adding a suspenseful and tense atmospheric vibe present in the original game
2. Ruby and Tattletail sound very good in this phase (and throughout the rest of No More), with the former sounding like a young, innocent and confusedly scared little girl while the latter sounds like a very loud and obnoxiously attentive little sh!t who talks at the worst possible moment - I also like how Tattletail’s in-game voicelines are implemented in the song’s melody since it’s not too distracting
3. The second long pause/silence does kinda suck to listen to, but I think it’s serviceable in that it adds more to the suspense of you frantically searching for Mama Tattletail as she scatters around throughout the different rooms in the gameplay (yeah, I know that gameplay shouldn’t be considered as a factor in ranking an FNF song but still)
Middle Phase:
1. This phase definitely has the most amount of care/substance to it as the well-executed vocal synchronizations of Ruby, Mama and Tattletail, the awesome beat drop, and the really memorable melody all work together in making the entire thing feel consistently whole to listen which I very much like (it also helps that the slow build up that I liked in Phase 1 really pays off for Phase 2 to shine)
2. I can hear Mama’s vocals just fine, even if it’s a bit quiet/muffled at times (I even think it works well in that regard as it sets the idea that Mama is a silent stalker who patiently awaits for the perfect opportunity in striking her targeted victims)
3. I personally like the dubstep section in No More a lot (even if it’s not for everyone), mainly because I think that it’s cool and that it kinda blends in really well into the song if you get what I mean - The intensely dreadful and fast-paced vibrant beat rocks HARD as hell and is probably the best of the entire song imo (I also think that the intensity serves as a very suspenseful/anticipative build up to the finale, and the 2D cartoon animation of the Ritual Preparation playing in conjunction makes it much more effective at conveying that vibe imo)
Ending Phase:
1. While the ending chorus is still pretty enjoyable to listen again (as well as the fact that it has the ‘No More Mama” chanting from Dewdrop and Butternut as an added bonus/neat callback to the Ritual Moment in the original game), it’s essentially just a much shorter/more simple version of the Middle Phase if you get what I mean (it also lacks the same amount of substance and care that the Middle Phase had but whatever)
2. The sudden transition into this phase kinda ruins the gradual build up that the dubstep section was making me anticipate but it’s not to bad at all though
3. Fun Fact: Ruby was actually originally going to die at the end of No More, but it ended up not coming to fruition and was cut out of the mod entirely
Overall, I give No More an 8/10.

Hello Eden, I love Deep Dream and Nasu!

(Yes there’s that many SS tiers for me. I love this mod what can I say)
I will now give an overly obsessive review of every song in this beautiful mod.
With that being said if you want to see my opinions on the songs head on down to the replies here👇
8). Nasu (C)
Nasu is honestly such a weird song.
7). Evilkaru (B-)
God this song is dumb.
(I would also like to note that the gallery them is an absolute bop and if you haven’t listened to it you absolutely need to)
Now onto the main songs
6). Deep Dream (S+)
Despite the fact the deep dream is my least favorite of the six main songs it is still an incredible song that I love.
5). Widespread (S+)
Widespread is a ridiculously catchy song.
4.) No more (SS)
I love no more.
3). Face Me (SS)
I originally wasn't the biggest fan of face me.
2). Mortis (SS)
Out of all the songs in step right up, this is the one that has changed positions on my ranking the most.
1). Mind’s Eye Squared (SS+)
And finally Mind’s eye squared.
Some points that I want to add to this whole thing:
1. NASU isn’t too bad imo but your point still stands
2. Fr bro, the Gallery theme is such a vibe to listen to and people definitely need to give it more recognition
3. The black blob at the end of Deep Dream is named Uboa (also at the end of the song, Madotsuki k@lls herself ☠️)
4. I actually like Widespread ever since I heard it for the first time though it got lower on my list due to some others outshining it (also the Smile Dog in the song are actually two separate characters, Phase 1 is named Husky while Phase 2 is named Demon)

Personal tier list:
1st: Mind's Eye (Perfection. Perfect Vocals, Chorus, and everything! This one's probably one of the best FNF songs period, well, there are songs that are definitely better, but this one's pretty high up there. At least top 25 songs (currently) of all time at minimum.)
2nd: Mortis (Personally I think this is tied with number 1 but if I had to pick I'd pick the other one mainly because this one's a bit hard on the ears (literally the only reason, which is why I criticize digital FNF songs a lot). But it is still WONDERFUL.)
3rd: No More (Honestly? Just the beat and Vocals, the big periods of time are kinda like "when is it going to come?" kind of feeling, which I enjoy a lot!)
4th: Deep Dream (It's such a soothing lullaby that at the end gets broken by a creepy silence, I could probably fall asleep to that on repeat.)
(The above are all in my playlist of over 200 FNF songs)
5th: Wide Spread (Not the biggest fan of the vocals, and I agree that Sara's are better than the other song. And a bit repetitive which I don't normally have a problem with in songs.)
6th: Nasu (Nice short preview of what's yet to come, but like you said, it's short.)
7th: Face Me (I can hear him, just wish he was more loud and "powerful", and the vocals arebt that good... sorry Neo)

Well it’s their opinion
This comment makes no sense. What you’re basically saying is:
“A song can have a fixable error if it fits the game which has nothing to do with the actual music”
Which no.💀Being off key quite literally doesn’t have a single excuse.

3 - DeepDream - I tend to like more fun, chill songs like this one, even if it gets all spooky at the end the rest of the song is very warm-feeling. Dunno what a yoomy nicky is but the song is vibes
4 - Mind’s Eye Squared - More like Mid’s Eye Squared. I really don’t get the hype for this one. The song is good enough, but so many people are treating it like it’s the best thing ever. Paranoia better MM stay winning
5 - No More - This song is just ok to me. No strong feelings.
6 - Widespread - I feel the same way about this song I do the 2 above it, but the part where the chromatic goes super high really bothers me for some reason. Like, ma’am, your voice is not a synth.
7 - Nasu - What if DeepDream was shorter and also worse?
8 - Evil Karu- Boring song but who cares it’s not meant to be groundbreaking
9 - Face Me P2 - It’s not P1 so I hate it grrr
Ok in all seriousness, I don’t dislike Face Me P2, and Face Me is still my #2 pick, but I do prefer P1. P1 is a total bop while P2 feels like it’s going for a more atmospheric and intense approach. I can respect that, but it’s not what I really want while listening to music.
Ok, so I’ve read on some of the reasonings for your rankings and here are my responses to them:
1. I’m not surprised that Mortis is your No.1 since it’s the literal fan favourite (even if it’s not my own personal favourite). I don’t have anything else to really add to your point since I do agree with it, though I would like to ask, who is Dad (if you meant Father Garcia, then ok. Also, Mike’s full name is Michael Davies but you probably already knew that)
2. I definitely get that it’s your favourite part of Face Me since everyone that I’ve seen also loves it too for how perfect it is in emulating a genuine 8-Bit 80’s classic 1v1 boss battle game like in the original game (even if this part isn’t my personal favourite Part of the song) - Glad to know that you rank it as your second favourite song in the mod though because I also rank it in 2nd place on my list too (many people that I’ve seen don’t which is a shame but fair)
3. Hope this helps give you a bit of a better insight
4. However, with that being said, I only think that Mind’s Eye Squared is the absolute best in the mod ONLY because as a general song overall, it’s just good enough in my eyes for it to not be considered too basic since the song itself isn’t too revolutionary but that it does everything right in a safely tamed way if you get what I mean (also, I’ve been seeing some people compare this song to Paranoia from Mario’s Madness in terms of them having the same vibe and to be honest, I can kinda see it)
5. No More is such a genuine bop since everything about it is done so perfectly well imo (though I can get as to why you wouldn’t have any strong feelings towards it since it’s not often too well favoured by many, as well as the fact that many also have their own preferred favourites too - all of that still doesn’t make the song bad at the end of the day though since the positives make it stand out a lot)
6. Although Widespread isn’t too well favoured by many (myself included), that still doesn’t make the song bad by any means as I genuinely love the HARD instrumental beats of Phase 1 (Phase 2 is just good to me since it kinda lacks the same substance that Phase 1 had but whatever). Also, for your criticism on Sara’s synth-sounding vocals, I get what you mean by it bothering you since it doesn’t sound naturally human at all (some people that I’ve seen also had this same problem for Widespread as well), but I personal don’t care because I really like how groovy it sounds and that it works well in building up suspense/anticipation for the intense parts (also it’s a song, so of course its gonna sound like that but take it as you will)
7. I get that’s how people often view NASU since it’s not too notable in the mod at all (next to Evilkaru LOL), but I actually kinda like the song since it’s not too bad to listen at all imo (I also don’t really like to think that NASU a worse version of Deep Dream and rather that Deep Dream is a better/improved version of NASU)
8. I IRONICALLY like Evilkaru for some weird reason but yeah, I agree in it not being too groundbreaking (besides, it’s not that bad imo but take it as you will)
9. However, you're still free to stand by your own view if you want
That’s basically all I have for now. Let me know what you think and whether you agree/disagree with my points. Goodbye.
@ holy crap cool essay dude I’ll give it a once-over when I have some time
@@retronoodles_but_cooler Thank you. Let me know when you get the chance.
3. I know what Yume Nikki is I was just trolling
4. Mind’s Eye Squared is a good song. I’m just making fun of it because I do think it’s overrated. Also the Paranoia part wasn’t a joke I unironically prefer it to this song
5. I don’t think this song is bad. It’s aight. I like the melody in the final section. Honestly I think this song and 6th place are pretty interchangeable
6. Again, I think this song is good. I didn’t mention this last time but I LOVE all the dogs’ chromatic (this applies to MDS as well), especially Husky. Sarah’s chromatic is usually pretty good but the part I mentioned does genuinely bother me
7. No comment. Deep Dream is good so this song is good, though the existence of Deep Dream makes NASU feel pretty pointless
8. I mean it’s ok there are better joke songs
@@retronoodles_but_cooler Sorry for this late response (I had to sleep pretty early). Anyways, here are some things that I want to add to your new points:
1. Oh ok. I thought you didn’t know so I wanted to point it out in case
2. Fair enough. Though I get that both parts are completely different in terms of the music/vibe, I still count them together as one song since that’s the point, as well as the fact that both parts blend in well together if you get what I mean (also Face Me Part 2 in 5th place if it was separate? 😢)
3. I assume that you didn’t since many people who checked out the mod don’t really seem to know Yume Nikki all too well (I only knew what the game was by name but didn’t know too much of it until I started looking it up)
4. Also, I think Paranoia and Mind’s Eye Squared are on the same level as each other, although I do agree that the former is a bit better than the latter (it’s sooo freaking HARD for no reason and I love it)
5. That’s fine. And while I can agree that the final section’s melody is pretty good (as well as the fact that it has the “No More Mama” chanting as an added bonus), I don’t really like it all too much since it’s essentially just a shorter/more washed-down version of the beginning imo (it also feels like the finale lacks the same amount of substance and care that the middle section had but that still doesn’t make it all too bad though)
6. Glad that you love all of the dogs’ vocals because they’re sooo good to listen to (my favourite is either Husky’s for how much of a bop it is, or Dragon’s for how loud and intensely frantic it sounds). But even if Sara’s synth-wave vocals bother you a lot (which is fine, I’m not trying to change your viewpoint at all and you can stand by it), I still think it sounds good to me but I digress
7. I wouldn’t think that Deep Dream makes NASU feel like a pointless inclusion since to me, the latter basically serves as a prologue to the former (the best way I can describe this is that NASU is a small appetizer while Deep Dream is the full main course - You can still listen to both separately but I like to listen to them together to serve the purpose that I just mentioned)
8. I get it. It’s not horrendously awful at all but I definitely agree that there are other better joke songs like Nourishing Blood from Mario’s Madness
That’s all I should have for now.

8. Evilkaru (D)
7. Nasu (C+)
6. Widespread (B)
5. Deep dream (A-)
4. No more (A+)
3. Face me (S)
2. Minds eye squared (SS)
1. Mortis (SS++)
Pretty good ranking
LETS GOOOOO ITS WEDNESDAY !
There is no first song of the mod. The wheel that chooses the songs is completely random.
@@TristenAraujo Yeah pretty much.
Hey neo could you rank vs cartoon cat v2
Definitely going to. But right now I’ve got a few other mods I have to cover first.
This was a decent ranking but you should do daredevil funkin ranking
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
Okay will say this I was not expecting widespread of being first plus I got done playing mod and listening to it was cool but it use to be low in my tier list mostly because the music melody is more into a rave like style. But after a re listening I started to gorw on me and it does have a more better tracking pace then the other songs though all them are good
@@JaidenLeon-f6q Widespread is pretty good so I can see it being the number 1 on his list.
If I'm not wrong, I'm almost certain that the chromatic for Ruby is GFs chromatic from DDTO+
As someone who loves Love N Funkin and listens too it very often, and listening to that and No More side by side, at the most they are similar. But I’m pretty sure they’re different chromatics.
@@Neos-Studioyeah, GF in Ln’F sounds more like Infernal Bout GF or Spooky’s GF.
The gf chromatic from Love N Funkin song in that mod actually came from the antipathy mod Lockjaw song I believe actually.
I love mortis because I AM A FAITH FAN
@@BigtealEin Same. Mortis essentially just got me back into the series.
@@BigtealEin #JUSTICEFORMORTIS
It has nothing to do with a skill issue. Some people just don’t like compressed vocals. It’s a style of music not everyone likes. And personally I don’t really love FNF songs that use compression since the vocals often end up sounding either muffled and too rough for me to really enjoy as much as clean vocals. And I never said Mortis was bad. I just said I didn’t like it that much compared to the others that were better in my opinion.
English please@@BigtealEin
Eh..im a Bit iffy on Ranking Mortis st 6th, sounds way too low imo. Then again it's your Opinion and i respect it.
@@AkaniOfficial Well, where would you rank it then? I’m genuinely curious to know (tho I’m probably gonna get an obvious answer am I).

Because No More’s best part plays twice.
That should be extremely obvious. 😐

I hope mortis is #1 because I love that song
Welp... :/
lol, lmao even.
Yes it got 6th *sighs* it isn’t even compressed vocals like WHY!? Does it have to be 6th not at all, but Deep Dream is my least favorite of the Big 6
@@Drew_The_Plug Honestly I can see where you’re coming from. But it’s his opinion at the end of the day.
The vocals are literally compressed. That’s basically the entire style of Mortis. The vocals are sampled from the game’s original voices which already were compressed in the first place.
Hey bro can you please rank Wednesday's indefinitely idk how to spell it lol
INDEFINITELY 💀🙏

@@andryusplay5689 Smile Dog’s first song is called Widespread. Also Face Me is ranked high? Respect 😎
@@vyrox71105 Thx, i totally forgot its name
This might be a hot take, but I'm not a huge fan of No More and Face me for the same reason I don't like Promotion and Dark Forest; They don't do enough justice to their source material. I know it's hard to pack that much into a song without making it too long, but Tattletail and Duck Season (and by extension 'The and Mario 64 Classified) have so much untapped potential. I wish they utilized the dog's bossfight, or the Kaleidoscope DLC, but they don't and that makes me upset.
As a huge fan of Face Me, I think it captures Duck Season perfectly.
@@Neos-StudioDefinitely. Also you ranked Face Me very high on the list so called it!

Might as well post my rankings for the songs since everyone else is doing it. 🫠
.1) WideSpread (S++) this song rocks; everything about it is good.🐕
.2?) Face Me (S+) this song is so good but the kid’s atonals ruined it. 🐶
.3?) M.E.S. (S+) great song but the atonals sound off in some parts. [also I can’t tell if this song should be .2 or not because F.M. also sounds really good 😭]🦮
.4) No More (S) dubstep my beloved~ [the song is too empty at the start imo]🎁
#5 MORtIS (S) Micheal ruins this song for me.🌲
.6) D.D. (S) Nice progressive song but it feels very different from the others tone-wise.🚦
The rest suck ass.
Some points that I have to your ranking:
1. I can see why many love this song and I can respect that (Phase 1 goes unnecessarily HARD while Phase 2 is just good to me)
2. Face Me at your No. 2? Respect to you my guy cus many people don’t love this song too much, mainly due to them not liking Part 2 to which I disagree with because it’s the best in the song (I would even go as far as to say that it carries it for me). I can get you not liking the atonal for David but to be honest, I can get behind it since it isn’t really too bad imo
3. Mind’s Eye Squared at No. 3? 😭 (no hate tho). I think it’s the best song in the mod (but ONLY in the mod) and to me, the atonals for both Sara and the Dragon are pretty good and I have no problems with it, mainly because I think it works in portraying a frantic and paranoid vibe that the song gives
3. No More’s dubstep is the BEST in the song no questions asked (some may disagree), although I think the long intro is fine because I think it perfectly sets up a very suspenseful and intense vibe before it fully goes in to the awesome beat that the songs have (I can still get behind on why you don’t like it tho since it is pretty long)
5. Michael’s part in Mortis is my ABSOLUTE favourite in the song and I will stand by this because it has a very fast paced and consistent beat to which I vibe with every time I hear it (everything else in the mod is good tho)
6. I think it’s good for what it is but I can see your point of view (also, this song gets outshined by the other 5 songs in the mod so yeah)
7. NASU is fine and I ironically like Evilkaru (even if it’s bad to many which I get)
That’s all I have now. Overall, pretty fair ranking.
