About me…. I’m normally hitting the parks or the beach with one of the many detectors I use for metal detecting the beach and fields. Metal Detecting can be fun and at the same time a nightmare due to the way the beach is always shifting, but if you hit it on a good day... BOOM! could be GOLD could be SILVER! Incredible. You can use these videos as a kind of online education but they’re really not! Oh and make sure you’re detecting is legal.

Metal Detecting is a good way of chilling out, its a good bit of therapy, fresh air, long walks. Its also a bit like those unboxing videos you see on youtube because even though you have an idea of what's buried below your feel you're never really sure. I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. Subscribe to continue watching and see where this adventure leads me next.

    Aaron,
I totally get your "not feeling it" mood with detecting. We all get it from time to time. Right now here in Los Angeles the beaches are super dead and way overhunted. It is a major bummer. However, me and my buddies have shifted to some old parks and are finding that new detectors like the Legend are opening up again. If parks like that are available to you give it a try, you might be surprised. If not, hang in there. Your luck will change!

Keep the chin up Aaron, Sid James will return.
Over here (in some foreign land) the noose has been tightened around the hobby and despite the fields being rolled ready, we can no longer go out. So enjoy your freedom to find 'meh' stuff! (although that two-ringer was cool).
    All the best!

Arron, I've been quick to point out your faults/mistakes in the past, but in this case I have to say good on you for remembering the gloves! Also, I feel I should add some balance. Your content is very honest: you show us the junk, the nonsense and the bad weather as well as the decent finds. It's also clear that you'd rather not upload content at all than resort to planting finds for views, as certain other YT-ers do. Thirdly, you're actually out there searching, which is more than can be said for armchair detectorists like me! I'm sorry that your interest has been flagging recently but believe me, mine isn't; you'll always have a subscriber here. Keep going.

Nothing wrong with taking some time out to revitalise the spirit. I started metal detecting this year. Of course you are my favourite UA-camr. I can’t believe that Hollywood has not approached you yet to play the next Bond. 😂 There is not much action on my home beaches. Being Australian, we don’t have Roman coins or fancy stuff like that. Hell if I get any coin or a fishing weight, I’m beside myself. I just tell myself, well at least I’ve cleaned the beach a little and anything else is a bonus. I wish you all the best in all your endeavours and will certainly miss you if you quit all together. Cheers to you buddy, thank you for the laughs.

I'm a metal detectorist and have been since the early 80's.. I know the doubting thought's of giving the hobby up on many occasions over the year's when having a dire day out in all weather's but I'm still out and still enjoying the hobby. Keep you're chin up and get your mojo back in gear and I'll be looking forward to more of the vid's. If in doubt' get the detector out 😊

Sometimes it's just nice to get out and down the beach. My detector has been gathering dust in the spare room for 2 years. Spending 2 hours down the beach plus 30 minutes travel time each way I can't really do it now. Maybe things were better in 80s and 90s as more coins lost on the beaches.

your intro hits home mate. bad enough when you're a solo detectorist, but when you aren't finding even average stuff it drags your enthusiasm levels to the gutter, BUT it's even worse for us CONTENT CREATORS isn't it 😕. I for one will miss your videos if you stop making them even if its full of tat. one of the forst channels I started watching when I was saving up for the simplex. REAL DETECTING with no BS. proper legend. ❤

I really enjoy watching your channel, you are one of the few good metal detecting channels out there! I lost my wife in 2020 so the last few years have not been great, but watching your videos helped in keeping me going. You inspired me to get my first metal detector and try it on the beech, although I am not that good at it. If you ever fancy teaching a novice the ropes look no further! Keep it up matey.

The trouble is, when you have a good hunt the next average hunt seems awful. Then you need a great hunt to even it out, but you get to a point where they don't live up to expectations. I guess it's like a drug in a way.
You just have to be happy with the hunt, and not necessarily the finds. Like some guy said, you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need.

I'm in the same mood at moment, normally take my simplex plus to Spain , I'm at point of giving up, nothing on beach so decided on trying in the sea, absolutely nothing , not a single signal, I maybe need guidance on settings but not able to find any useful information.

Aaron I have just recently started watching your videos and there great btw, Im a complete novice and just looking at getting started. I want to get out on the beaches and the fields nearby and I was wondering if you could reccomend the best start up detector. I see your losing motivation in it but I really want to get started as I struggle badly with mental health and think hours out doing this would really help even If I dont find anything I want something I can stick with and go out and be at peace😊

Good morning, for general purpose metal detector (park, field, beach and salty under water search) what detector do you suggest? I do not want to be noisy during search (like the old simplex), to have stable vdi numbers (not like x-terra pro), clear tones, very good separation especially in iron (not like vanquish) and of course to be water proof. Budget max 500$.
