    That would be a Minie ball (NOT a "Minie bullet"), with 4 Tamisier grooves instead of the usual 3, making it very rare. I hope it cheers up your friend, Arron.

    Definitely had a 'bullet' session ,your minie bullet adopted by the British in 1852 (developed by the french). Probably fired from the British pattern 1853 Enfield rifled musket,the minie bullet vastly improved the range of the infantry up to 300 yards range and more accurate due to the conical shape allowing expansion in the rifled barrel making the bullet spin....hope this helps dude.
