- Video of the song that gives name to the production of the Nelson brothers in 1990, this song came to Guinness Book of Records after to be the third generation of his family to have a record in a number one of charts
30 years ago I was laying in my bed as a teenager, listening to this on Casey's Top 40, and living the best times of my life!
Thank you UA-cam for allowing me to travel back to those days!
so jealous
Lol I used to have a folder with them on it
Same here. The weekly top 40 was the shit.
There used to be and maybe still is a UA-cam channel with audio clips of old top 40 songs in Casey’s countdown
I have to admit the world was a better place when bands like Nelson were around. Also nice guitar solo in this one
Are you out of your mind?
100% TRUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@moisesfloripa Why do you think he's out of his mind? It was most definitely a better time!
Absolutely. Much better times. Great memories that I'll never get back.

This hit home for so many of us 'metalhead teens' who had this home life and the only thing that kept us alive, literally, was putting on that music and going far away!
The 80's are AWESOME!!!, I'm glad I grew up in the 80's listening to REAL music.
This is 90's
@alexricardosotovillalobos8634 you are right, 1990 to be exact. Very similar type of music from the 80's. For some reason I thought it was 80s.
God bless baby jesus and youtube to be able to watch this many years later.
For those of you who still love Nelson, I am with you there! I have loved them since they came out when I was a teen, and I actually met them once! They are very sweet, kind gentlemen! :) Would love to see them again. They were awesome back then, and as far as I'm concerned, they still are to this day. Love Nelson!
They play often. Scrap Metal is who they tour with
I'd love to see them live! This song saved my life when I was a kid!
This song makes me feel like living!!!!!
I love this song a theme I have lived to this day! I am a Disabled vet I volunteer for 20 to 30 hrs at local Animal Shelter try to do more. I have succeeded being a Aviator in The Navy 23 years Now I wish to start on my second dream, Have a partner that she sees the same with me !! An Again still listen to this awesome song ! If I could be anywhere in the history of space and time, it would be THIS concert. My god this fucking rocks.
Fuck!!
Haven't heard this classic rock tune for about 23 years!!!!
These dudes from the early 1990s were the real deal...
Brings me back to my old high school days...
After the rain was one of the best songs of that fucken amazing rock music era!!

I will freely admit I had the cassette tape when it came out & love their music. I don't care if I get flack bout it they are good musicians & their dad would be very proud of them
@Bobby J Bear yes I'm 41 so I am your age too
From 1990 when I was 14 and a boy broke my heart to 2019 when I'm 43 and this is my divorce anthem....music will never let you down.
How YOU doin’????????
Same story .. same age too
Oh my Gawd!!! Definitely lol
Same here man ❤
I love blasting this on a freeway on warm summer nights with the windows down and a full moon over the hills. Feels like a different time and place especially when they really belt it out. If I ever see these guys in a concert it will be the pantheon of my concert desires
WOW... I am still sooooooo impressed with the Nelson bros... These guys were and still are great. One extreme amount of talent times two!!!
It runs in the family. Their dad was Ricky Nelson from the classic TV series "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet". They were their grandparents.
I love it when I go for a walk in the forest and come upon a random Nelson concert
Seriously underrated comment
Very true..takes time..love this song..wish they'd record again..
Stay tuned! They are... Yay!
This is one of my earliest MTV memories.
Same...
The Nelsons were an amazing family, I cannot say enough good things about them for the handful of times I got to meet them! Salt of the earth people!
This song got me through one of the darkest periods of my life at the time.
Hope your in a better place now
Same!
00
Me to
same!
I havn't watched it in forever either...I was doing laundry and it just popped in my head lol. Had a bummer week and really been rethinking how I want my life to be and I really loved this song in high school.
In the 80's I was lost and looking for direction. I thought I was weak to listen to bands like this...I have come to love what is really new music to me. Thanks for the post
Saw this video when I was a kid (6yrs) and both my brother and I started picking up brooms and pretended we were playing guitars. Now both of us play in bands. We've come a long way thanks in part to this video.
This was an outstanding debut album. Every song was great.
that father reminds me of my stepdad, always downing me, but in the end i prevailed, this song helped alot
I was at this video shoot. I went on a whim after hearing about it on Pirate Radio. Everyone had to wear white shirts so they could fade us in. It was lots of fun. :)
What a wonderful experience!
I love this build up to the song and instruments. I am SO the kid in this video with my love for music.
I will admit that I owned this CD when it came out. And I loved it.
I also have it
dude it was my first tape lol
I must've played this CD a million times, so underrated!
CD? I know I have the copy of the original LP pressing somewhere.
There was a CD?
how can i forget this group, this was an awesome song back in the day. Thanks for posting.
One of my absolute favorite songs of all time. Never fails to get me energized for the day!
I think most of the songs from the 80's helped alot of us through some of the most difficult times in our lives unless you lived back then you wont understand
How I miss the 90s and I was going into the 6th grade. And when MTV was MTV great memories
Reminds me of when I lived in a trailer. I had a tiny room just like that. But a completely different vibe. I had my TV with cable, a NES, and a stereo. Happy times there.
Getting old sucks; when you can identify more with the old man than the teenager.
They were never given enough credit.
Fantastici !!!!! Quanti ricordi ....quando la musica era vera grazieeeee🖤🖤🖤🖤💜💜💜💜
These twins Gunner and Matthew were so extremely good looking in the 80"s and even now ...
Even though both of these men are happily married oh be still my heart !!!
I remember this playing over and over on mtv and vh1 back then..i was in middle school..gosh this takes me back!!!
Who's still singing along with me in Quarantine? August 6,2020 Seattle!!! #StaySafe
It's raining today... listening to all rain songs, starting with this one! Next phill collins hehe!!
I also Grew Up in The 80's I also liked Nelson I Still like The 80's Hair Bands Still and I am 34yrs old Now it is nice to see some other People that grew up in The 80's
Much like the kid in this video....I TOO had my life forever changed for the better by a Nelson song..........said nobody on Earth ever.
Proof that there was good 90's music!
The 90's were awesome as well as the 80's. The 80's band's were still around in the 90's. :-)
smh, it was still 80s style in 1990 obviously. Grunge didn't get big until 92
Great guitar work on this song.
One of the best songs of the 1990's
1990 is technically the last year of the 80s ;)
1990 i just birth, but i love his songs
i think 1992 is! thats when the new decade was coming in. Changes, and the biggest was the music scene that changed, and the clothes!! In my opinion
This is a song? I always thought it was a really bad shampoo commercial......huh.......WHO KNEW?!(
but it sounds more 80's then 90's
Simply.....I loved it back then.....and I still love it now.....they just don't make em like this anymore!
I hate it when a parent tells a kid they will never amount to anything.
i love it because then i can laugh in their faces later on
+Embers me too. my father said Id never amount to anything and yet here I am a professional truck driver and even outlasted him.
I had the satisfaction of throwing it up in his face as I laughed.
He made a rookie mistake and it cost him his entire career.
they wont amount to anything by listening to Nelson.
but it has to happen if you want Nelson to jump off the wall out of the incredibly weird poster that teenaged boy has on his wall. Magic
Stay Cold613 stay a loser!
Guilty of owning this tape as a teenager, haha. I'd all but forgotten about it until a few weeks ago when my wife and I were helping my mom clean out their basement and we found my shoebox of tapes I used to keep in my room in high school. My old pickup has a tape deck in it- my wife and I had a good old time singing along all the way home, haha.
You don't hear songs written like this anymore...very well written by the Nelson brothers
Because people got sick of cheesy schlock.
Robb Nelson Identical Twins, CUTIE PIES!!!!
@@ACETYGRA because people nowadays don't know what REAL music sounds like without the damn autotune and (c)rap music. Everything is ghetto now.
And to think that i thought it was cheesy, typical music (that i still liked!) back then! If i had known what was coming down the pike 20-30 years later i would have soaked it up with abandon. :/
.....brothers?
im so blessed that i was born in 1981..and had a chance to listen, explore the glory days of music in the 70s 80s 90s..best era in music...not the trash music scene of the 2000s...but still though there were great music brought to the table by 2000s..
Holy fucking shits! What have I been missing for the first 20-and-a-half years of my life!?
Chuck Norris Yeah a little chang na ja
+Chuck Norris i played cards with these guys.same age as me.they wrote song in upstairs in home in madison.indiana.me and my 2 friends were 1st to here song upstairs .i told them its a girly song.other 2 guys had no comment.their fan club came from Chicago, they played in yard.fans loved it.
Greg G
OMG That's awesome!!!
+Chuck Norris holy fucking shits, its chuck norris
+Chuck Norris Terrible "rock" bands?
This song popped into my head today. Don't know why but proves that the things that built our foundations never really disappear.
Mi Dios que Nostalgia me trae esta cancion, Excelente Musica!!
my god I forgot about this song man those were the good days 80's and 90's kid here
Listening in 2018!! After the Rain...
Comes SUNSHINE!!
I recently heard this song on Sirius XM for the first time in years. I'd forgotten how good it was and had to find it on You Tube.
Ultimate break up song. Listened to this after every break up in my youth and felt immediately better.
This song always puts a smile on my face, that first Nelson album was stellar!
A classic song!!! Love the lyrics! Very inspiring!!!
I wish I had a dollar for everytime I've watched this in the past 3 months.
I was around 8 or 9 when this came out, and I thought it was the most bad ass video ever!!
I still love this song after all these years. I was in high school when this came out.
Ricky Nelson would be proud of his boys.
Yea this is an 90s jewel. Love the synth into.
Still a good song 30 years later. Didn't care for it then, now it makes me a little nostalgic for the early 1990s.
Songs are part of memories. .this is one of them...
😚
Veronica Delery :-)
How true....The memory of wanting these two freaks and everyone like them dead is STILL fresh in my mind...
Dammit...I can't lie.....I liked this song. As far as pop rock goes, it's not so bad....where they screwed up was making the videos....that's when we all recoiled in horror.
That song came out when I was in High School, still love it!
dont be afraid to lose what was never meant to be....after the pain, after the rain you live again, all the way back to love again great lyrics.
I love this video alot because when I had a bad day at work or having a rough relationship with your boyfriend or something the song after the rain can cheer you up.
Best track ever!!!! this song got me though middle school!!
Well i am 48 an i still love all my music,an this one is a plus.....lol holding out for more to come, yessss
Such a great song, great video. Nelson is awesome.
Bellissimo video e pezzo musicale quanti ricordi quando la musica emozionava nell anima 🖤💜💜💜
the 80's were awesome, loved the long hair, these guys were awesome and still are, runs in their genes
I was watching this last weekend with my daughter and granddaughter and my daughter says to me Gods I forgot how cute these guys were. LOL. She was maybe 8 or 9 when this came out.
wow...haven't heard this in 25 years. Still sounds pretty good!
I grew up listening to Nelson they are truly a great fantastic rock band. And I don't care what people think or say about me. never did and I never will. Nelson is one of those great fantastic rock bands that has respect for themselves and has respect for their fans. Also Nelson does not use foul language, they don't use sex or drugs, or anything bad like that in their music, they are a fun clean rock band who enjoys playing music for their fans and for themselves. And I will continue to listen to Nelson until they stop playing rock music which I don't see that happening anytime soon. This is why I do not listen to a lot of rock bands today anymore too much of them have no respect for themselves or for their fans. Music should be for enjoyment not to abuse the way a lot of bands or singers do it today it's terrible how other bands and singers do not have respect for themselves or their fans or for the music business either it's just a shame. I am glad & grateful for a band like Nelson. Speaking of Nelson we're going to be going into 2018 soon and I truly do hope Nelson is going to be during a new CD in the spring or the fall sometime . Has been a while since they had did anything new when it came to music or had put a new CD out. I would so love to hear new music by Nelson.
I loved this back then, and I still love it now. A girl's heart never grows old :-)
This song makes me miss my girl. We would drink and listen to Nelson...miss my sunshine
2020..... and still listening.
Revisited 2018. Great song. REVISITED 2020, STILL GREAT.
i will allways love this song and video
I was 8 years old and I remember this and INXS were my first two records I owned. I played the shit out of this album. I haven’t heard this song in over 25 years and I still remember it all. I’m older now and can actually appreciate just how great it really is.
Got to meet them after the Trail Of Tears ride. They are so sweet.
I seen these guys back in 1990, they were so sweet and polite. I love this song the words are very powerful. and they were very, very cute :) and still are :)
Their dad was Ricky Nelson, brilliant 50 musician. Of course they're great!
And their grandpa was OZZIE NELSON!!!
I listen to this album now and feel like everything is going to be ok. It never loses its effect on me!
What a awesome track !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freaking awesome! Nelson was always so underrated!
2019! Still resonates for this generation
Ahh man, this video makes me sad because music, let alone the world itself, seemed so much simpler and happier. Hard to let go of good stuff like this!
still love that song!!
Takes me back those younger days when life was so limitless
Just look at that kid, he's like, "Oh great. A Nelson concert. I couldn't even dream up a decent band like Ratt. FML."
Lol Ikr
I miss the days that this music ruled the airwaves.
I've smoked a lot of weed, but Nelson never jumped out of a poster and brought me to visit a medicine man.
then you weren't smoking good weed
Comment of the year, right here. LOL
lol
Jocko Jonson What you need is some of that high--powered chronic.
Me too lol ????? I’m still waiting
This brings me back! ❤️
I miss the music of my youth
I haven't heard this song in ages... Still sounds good...
Look in the mirror girl, by now you should know
You're living in a fantasy, and you can't let go
He never really loved you from the start
The only thing he ever gave you was a broken heart
Don't be afraid to lose what was never meant to be
After the rain washes away the tears
And all the pain
Only after the rain
You live again
I know the emptiness you feel inside
You're thinking if you break away, you'll never survive
I'm waiting as my heart beats just for you
Come on and take my hand and I'll pull you through
But things will never change until you want them to
After the rain washes away the tears
And all the pain
Only after the rain
You live again
After the rain
You'll see the sun appear to light the way
Only after the rain
Can you hope to find true love again
He never really loved you from the start
The only thing he ever gave you was a broken heart
Come on and take my hand and I'll pull you through
You know the time has come for you to face the truth
After the rain washes away the tears
And all the pain
Only after the rain
You live again
You'll see the sun appear to light the way
Only after the rain
Can you hope to find true love again
After the rain
Thank you.
Such great lyrics
🤘🇧🇷
I saw them in concert with House of Lords in 1991 Ft Lauderdale FL Sunrise Musical Theatre. I was 15 yrs grew up on hair metal still love it!
That father figure man is a great actor.. He struck a nerve to anyone who has been there..This story relates to a ton of people..
A lot of abused and pain I remember those days that you wanted to die or kill yourselves than deal with the pain
My mother was like that through my high school days and even after graduation. She complained about the heavy metal and hard rock I listened to, my long hair and how I was nothing but a failure while my father who was in the military supported what I stood for. I still stand for what I believe in even to this day.
I honestly believe it happens because they wanted to be Rockstars to begin with. The natural reaction it's to discourage their kids from trying to do so because they might fear they can actually become one instead of giving up like they did in the past. Same with trying to be an activist, artist, writer, entrepreneur...
Dad looks like Jame Gumb
Dead ass he sold it.
