Just make an album, put in on distrokid, make an instagram, play on Reddit live and Twitch.
Record on a Zoom R8 and use your phone to make ivideos, learn editing.
Share your songs with friends, family and the wider world. Put it on UA-cam. Play in open mic or a little restaurant,bar, church or social gathering in you geographic area.
Make a bandcamp page (bandcamp.con) upload your songs as wav files from the zoom recorder usb to your lap top. (Also Davinci Resolve is a great video editor)
Make buisness cards on vista print.com showing your artist name, links to your socials, & a link to where they can digitally buy the mp3s for their player.
Lastly make limited edition tapes and cds for those who still have them, draw the cover yourself on construction paper, then fold the paper around the cd or tape. Sell them in a reasonable way to everyone you know and who will discover you.
Keep posting your music online advertise just be repetitive and resilient. Believe in yourself and your higher power of your understanding.
Then you can also leave your tape/cd and business cards in little public places around your town, give them out at church. This is true success. Your songs resonate in the hearts of your true community, that will always be better than the radio, going viral, television or lame fame. Just be visible and available as you can and you will continue to be content and famous in the most unique wholesome way.
Play for charity events and aim to make your music from your spirit with a message that releases your emotion and also encourages joy, inspiration & pure humanity. Love & Prosperity to you Gratitude

I blame the show. There capable of doing it, but for some reason shows like the New Year's Eve celebration, Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, etc., are afraid to let bands play live, like they're going to screw it up or start dropping f-bombs out of nowhere. Never understood it.

Stumbled across this and nothing but a lip sync
You have got to be kidding. If you can't tell when someone is actually singing for real you have vision problems. The way to know they are not lip syncing is how they are singing in acoustic performances which there are plenty of recent videos of them singing acoustically and acapella. They are very good singers and the best harmonies of the 80s era or frankly any decade since. Even in their 50s now they STILL sound fantastic. That is how authentic their singing is - still sounds as good now as it did back then.
