I remember seeing this one on the other channel. I think the overall style of these videos are rekindling the passion of the early days with a new freshness with Bianca involved. In time, things will get back into a flow again. Take care of yourself first. Don't stress it.

Using an old video to update and share what needed to be done, was done (and taught/shared), as well as navigating your journey from two channels into one channel.
    Awesome!!

As we live close to a creek, we don't use herbicides... been here almost years and followed that rule. But really need to start as we have a few local (to Adelaide Hills) weeds starting to take over areas in the concrete, so we can't just dig out. We're on a largish suburban block, pretty sure neighbours, even local council, use the harmful to waterways herbicides, but we're making a choice. So any you could recommend would be great. Thanks in advance! Loved rewatching this clip with updates. Janis.

"Slasher" is a acid based herbicide & classed as organic if that helps Janis. Seasol make the same blend & sell it for a fair bit less. It's called "Earthcare Organic Herbicide" from memory.

@@RobsAquaponics Thanks Rob, will look into them. As I need them for concrete areas, acid based may not be the best. But I live in hope. 😁🤞

@@RobsAquaponics for now we're looking at a pine oil based one called bioweed. Can't be used within 20 metres of waterways, as it's oil... but we're just over that from the creek. I much rather pull or dig weeds out, but sometimes you have to spray.👍

Surprised about the wiring unless the house is moved it should be fine unless electrician classifies it to be unsafe - solid core wire and ye olde fuses are still allowed from my understanding just if you get a relocatable house then it needs water/septic/power upgraded to meet newer standards at the time the old house is installed at the newer date.
I had that the cold water plumbing needed to go from 1/2" to 3/4" then I was told all the taps needed water saving measures on them a little disk with holes to restrict the flow (bureaucracy!) - and I am on tank water so I know how crucial water is and bought 120KL of tanks, but to then have to put in 5 star water efficient taps and change out the plumbing was a big pain in the wallet for not a lot.

Some of the fittings weren't earthed, just like the house & 2 of the sheds. 😅🤔 Is all sorted now.
Grey water is going to be an issue as we think holding tank (if that's what it is) is leaking under the concrete slab walkway. Will be getting a plumber out soon to give the systems a good once over.

GRT is a problem the councils were keen (as in fining landowners for not managing it) to get it under control but then wouldn't get out of their Ute to spray if it wasn't just a meter or so away! When Fluproponate was difficult to get they sort of gave up on it - there is a granular variety and TaskForce is discontinued so probably every one has given up like Lantana. Its a bloody pain and supposedly government introduced from what I understand (due to the protein but does affect the animals teeth?) and expect the property owner to sort it out - but as bureaucrats live in Brisbane don't have the issue its on the property owner. The granules are pretty expensive and no assistance for this issue and you buy the 15kg container which is more expensive than the 20KG bag but apparently can only get the cheaper larger bag if you get it applied by Helicopter (which can imagine is pretty reasonable - not!).

We've been issued a control order rw so will be needing to get onto it quick smart. They just want it taken back to 17m to the front fence & 3m to the driveway for biosecurity reasons. We're more than happy to comply as it means we need to pull our finger out & get a small tractor & slasher.

Will also be trying a few alternate herbicides as well for small outbreaks to see if something else will do the trick in sensitive areas like the sides of the dams. .

It was just passing through. It was investigating our bedroom screen door later that night so I moved it downstairs need the shed. Figured it would find some mice over there.
